hello Mike, I have been following your channel since about a year ago. we were from Australia and moved to Shanghai for a job relocation. You channel kept us updated about Shanghai and the quarantine stuff. Your videos also helped us finding the international school etc. Really appreciate it! We are now in Shanghai and also in Jing An. Not sure if we could meet up for a coffee or something.
It's so exciting that you were in our neck of the woods!! when I saw your video, I was like "wow, that looks awfully like my drive from Seattle to the tri-cities" lol. We miss China so much. HK is coming back too I was there last month and it felt about 70% back to normal. Wish HK and SH some good times ahead and leave this pandemic nightmare behind.

I left Shanghai last year after 2 months lockdown and went to work in Singapore for half a year. But I just come back to Shanghai this month due to the crazy overtime work in Singapore.😂😂😂

Welcome back. Yes, things are pretty much back to normal, in fact it was shocking how quickly things went in the opposite direction, but I for one am super happy about that, we don't even need masks on the subway now, although of course many still do wear them.
I got a new job at taxi center since July last year, and even now: All flights from New Zealand to China via anywhere, even domestic flights to a major city requires COVID tests when you land at a stopover.
Eventually you family come back again, congratulations, Mike. Honestly if I could choose, I prefer the not busy countryside life in us, lol, comparing the hustle and bustle big metropolitan city Shanghai. No one would forget the hurt of the three-year lockdown which is the big cause people leaving here including the citizen and residences.
But the reality is people will go back. Just like what happened in NYC. Many people left during the pandemic yet now the renting market is hitting a record high again because people are coming back. There are just so many things in a metropolitan city that cannot be replaced elsewhere.
