Hot water! It heats it up so when you smooth the icing, it's like ironing it! It smoothes out air bubbles! You can also just use a blow torch to heat up the spatula too so that's another option
I have 2 cake for jan 1, 2023 and my client requested to have gold drip..and i dont have any idea how to do that. But God is Good, he allow me to see this video. thanks for sharing this video, i hope i can do that. I will try to post the cake after i decorate it. Wish me Luck. Merry Christmas everyone.
Hi it's 1 tablespoon of powder sugar, 1 tablespoon of gold dust. Then vodka until it gets to the consistency that you want. I don't measure I just eyeball. If it's too thick I add more vodka. Too thin, I add more powder sugar. Not enough gold, I add more gold dust.
Nope stays soft! And it depends on the thickness, because if it's thick enough (which is more powder sugar added to thicken) it stays more "3D". If it's very thin (more vodka) then it will look more "flat". So you can adjust consistency to your liking
Got it thanks! I’m new to cake decorating world and have a 21st birthday cake to do Friday. She wants a drip but this looks nicer and neater then trying to paint chocolate.
The long toothpicks I see at grocery stores. A recipe online says 1 tablespoon of the sugar, 1 tablespoon of gold dust, then add a little vodka. But I don't measure I just eyeball until I like the thickness consistency.
