"I managed to live 80, 81 years..I survived pneumonia, two operations, a stroke. One night I'll belch and Stable Mabel here will blow my head off!!!" 😂😂😂😂😂
Picture it, New York City, 1923. A beautiful baby girl was born who grew up to be a famous actress. She played one of the most awesome characters in tv history. She sadly died in 2008. That actress was Estelle Getty. And that awesome character she played was Sophia Petrillo! Edit:Thanks to the people who expressed all the wonderful and kind feedback! I'm glad my comment touched all of you! At the risk of sounding full of myself, I'm still quite proud and touched by it too!
Right now, theres betty white left..she must b really bad being alone without these 3 legends.i hop betty w would stil live, but im afraid that her lifs is goin to end
Kee Leicthle They are the Coctail of Beauty and Brains that no One in our time could top what these Gorgeous Ladies did. Sophia is the Youngest in that group. Estelle Getty was already been showing signs of Alzheimers since the day one of the Golden Girls. I was one of the kids in that scene when Rose treated her in her birthday with childrens birthday party.
Estelle Getty died in 2008, Bea Arthur in 2009 and Rue McClanahan in 2010. That makes Betty White the last surviving Golden Girl. She's an American TV legend.
@@babysaho9576 She wasn't sick and has the gift of longevity. The others died due to sickness Dementia _(Sophia),_ Stroke _(Blanche)_ and Cancer _(Dorothy)._ By now they still would have been gone.
No show will EVER replace the beautiful magic that Rue, Estelle, Bea, and Betty captured. No remake or anything could EVER replace this show. The writers and actors were brilliant and outstanding in this.
You forgot the rest of 5:12 to continue its " I mange to live 80, 81 years. I've survived pneumonia 2 operations a stroke. One night I'll belch and Stable Mabel here will BLOW MY HEAD OFF!!"
Mom: is that why there’s all the stuff all over the couch Big bro: no Mom I was also cleaning out my ears Mom: why are you talking to me like that Big bro: forgive me mother I haven’t had sex in years and it’s starting to get on my nerves
😅😅😅👍👍😂😂😙😙Watching non-stop Golden Girls I just realized, Dorothy's dry sarcasm works best with Rose's naivety and Sophia's cynical worldly wisdom works best with Blanche's loose love life. However, thanks a lot for uploading this combination!
I hadn't though of it that way but I think you're right. My two favorites are Rose and Sophia. Blanche doesn't amuse me that much and Dorothy is kind of negative. But they all work beautifully together.
I love when Sophia said the Italians made good love and had the best in opera, well I agree with her in making love but not in opera singing. I once kind of knew someone that sang opera and that person was totally gay.
Blanch wants advice from Sophia about getting older. Sophia says, "Your old, you sag, get over it" and then she says, 'So what if you Jesus personally." I laugh every single time
"Hey... maybe this is my shot at getting into the Bible!" My all-time favorite line from Sophia. I vividly remember watching that episode as a teenager when it first aired on a particular Saturday night at 9pm on NBC and that was the first and only time that any TV sitcom made me laugh so hard I had to gasp for air.
When Rose asked how it was possible for a girl in Sicily to get pregnant just by crossing the street; I laughed at Sophia's answer: "Cheap Chianti and narrow streets."
The " i got you babe" scene and the one where sophia promises dorothy to never die always make me emotional. You dont get many realistic, comedy genius and yet smack your heart straight in the middle mother daughter scenes that often.
#RIP Ladies. ROSE [Betty White] is the only surving member of those 4 wonderful, loving and Hilarious Ladies. One of the Best Shows in History. There will never be another show like this or Like the others of those Eras 70's, 80's and early 90's.
I had to buy the whole golden girls series I just love watching them they it none stop humor that wll make you pee your pants lol I love watching them.
My favorite was when Sophia & Blanche were dating the same guy, Caesar Romero. Sophia called Blanche a "human mattress" and Rose a "human speed bump". Lol. Sophia is exactly like my maternal grandma.....she used have zinger lines too....and she'd say "did you come see me to make sure I wasn't dead, you little shit"...lol. She was the most respected & loving woman I have ever known. She was my hero & mentor. I went into nursing as she had been a nurse. I got through it because and for her!.
I can relate to you because I became a big fan of "The Golden Girls" due to the fact that when I was little I would stay with my Grandma Betty- "Grammy" as I called her- after school and she was a big fan of both "The Golden Girls" and "I Love Lucy." Watching these shows nowadays makes me feel as though Grammy is still alive and sitting next to me on my living room sofa. Grammy died when I was fifteen; I miss her a lot, but I'm doing okay.
My favorite response from Sophia ever! Blanche: Is that all you Italians know how to do is scream and hit children? Sophia: No! We also know how to make love and sing opera! 😂😂😂😂
I first watched this iconic show when I didn’t even speak a word of English and absolutely loved it, now I am fluent in English and still obsessed with this show.
I was born in 85 and as a little kid this like the only sitcom i watched and estelle was the reason so R.I.P and thanks for the laughs and thumbs up for this upload its appreciated
