I was at this concert. 77 year old Paul McCartney played three hours of high energy music without a break. And his voice got stronger through the night. Music keeps you young.
Ekkie I saw him twice, in 2003 (?) and one of the songs he did wasn't particularly a major favorite of mine, until his live performance of it that night, "She's Leaving Home". It was..INCREDIBLE. The two part vocal of it, Paul: "She..." his band member sang: "we gave her most of our lives" Paul: "Is leaving" Band: "sacrificed most of our lives" Paul: " Home..." His vocals, just on that last word "Home" ...still til this day, gives me chills, a smile, AND tears all at the same time. If I live to be 100, I will always remember THAT moment as if it was yesterday and being one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
John Garrett I wish I had been there. I've seen footage of the concert and it looked like a great one. Besides Paul there was the Who, Mick & Keith, Elton John and Billy Joel performing together. James Taylor, Jay-Z....... Good show on TV anyway.
bigcatdaddy76016 I’m so blessed I saw him in the flesh a couple of years in Perth. Best experience of my life. Biggest fan. Well no I’m not but I like him lots 😆
Paul is one of the most amazing musicians in the history of the world. What a life he's had. Sooooo much music he's provided the world for SIX decades.
Joe Walsh has played with Paul and Ringo. He never played with George or John but is well known for mastering George's guitar solo on "And your Bird can Sing" later finding out from Ringo that George actually did it using 2 guitars. He played a John Lennon song on one of Ringo's albums by asking himself "What would George do?" and then playing accordingly. So I think Joe Walsh qualifies as a huge Beatles fan.
If you have to go out on a phrase that becomes literally immortal and impossibly recognizable just about everywhere..."And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make!"
This is bullshit. Whose credit he does not get? Rock'n Roll of fame? Member of "best 100 guitarists of all times" by Rolling Stone? 2nd best solo of all times (With Don Felder)? Playing for millions with the Eagles? Great solo career? As a sideman on 100s of records? Your comment is false in every way
Joe is an American treasure. I've seen him 4 times...twice solo, and twice with the Eagles....Very entertaining....AND both times he got the biggest, and loudest ovation when they introduced the members of the band (Eagles)
It's like a bunch of kids playing with their new toys on Christmas morning:) The fact that they are having so much fun is the main thing I believe, that is so contagious!
Paul mc cartney is one of the most brilliant treasure when it comes to the world of music in my generation ❤️❤️❤️ sir Paul thankz for being with us in our time history...
Yes indeed I remember living in a England when the Beatles were big… I was an Air Force brat…It was so exciting. There certainly are many good musicians and fantastic groups. But the Beatles were in a class by themselves. Never will see the likes of them again. And Joe Walsh is one of those great musicians as well.
@@daveydudely9954 Same with me. No 'golden slumbers' for me since Dec 8th 1980. But, I manage to carry that weight. A long time. I miss George too. Glad Paul and Ringo are still among us. The end.
WOW what a night! I was higher up in the stadium and recorded from Ringo came out on the stage. Watching these videos with the headphones blasting brings all these great memories back! Here's my vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pJNYuZ3GjGE.html
I think as musicians age and retire we'll see a lot more collaborations of people and band's playing and touring doing each others music to save on hiring players etc. Should be great!
I had always wanted to see Sir Paul, and my bride bought me the tix for my birthday for this Dodger Stadium show. Whatta show! And then Ringo. And Joe Walsh. I feel like I had waited my whole life to see and hear “Live & Let Die” live. What a memory!!
I don’t know why but watching this makes me cry! 😭 I love watching Paul close up at the piano, that guitar battle recreation, and just the energy! 🤘🏻🎸😍
The Beatles . They created the Music that will Live on Forever in the hearts of Untold Millions . Bless You Paul , George , John & Ringo . You did good .
I grew up in the era of the Beatles. I can't even imagine the magic they would have made if they had stayed together beyond 1969/70. Simply the greatest band to ever exist on this planet.
We all could have lived through any other time in history, but were lucky enough to live through the era of The Beatles and Paul's amazing life and career. Paul, please live forever.
@@martifingers Oh, they realize their legacy was secure. In fact it was implied as if Paul (and the rest of The Beatles) made a point in the song that these legacy would made them "Carry that weight a long time". Probably aware that whatever they do after that could hardly surpass what they achieved together as The Betles. But Jim Carr right, Paul never dreamed that he would still active half century later. In numerous interview Paul said that he though 40 would be an age that he think would be to old as a rock star and that he may consider to retire. But then he enjoyed too much and just keep going and going...
I used that song for inspiration when I became a single Dad, with custody, to my Daughter. "Boy You got to carry that weight." It was never too much of a burden but it made this song special to me.
I had the privilege of attending that amazing concert at the Dodger Stadium and what a blast it was to have Paul, Ringo, and Joe on stage that wonderful night. Classic Rock at its best.
@@braddavis3865 I play guitar. thats all, my son can play all instruments, Paul McCartney plays all, writes and composes, multi talented and 77 a hero in my eyes
I am 68years old and was introduced to them when I was 13. I never tire of their amazing music. So much happiness in their music, even their darkest songs there still resides a sense of hope and joy.
One of the best nights of my life. Seeing a super legend in concert and still rocking at close to 80 years old. Bucket list for sure. You da best Paul.
We saw him and his three bandmates probably 10 yrs ago in San Diego. Same deal 3 hrs and 39 songs with delightful quips from the past. One of the best nights of my life.
Paul loves from the inside out. And he loves emphasizing how well his fellow magicians r doing. His smile will always stay the same! It reaches up to his eyes and meets your heart.
Me and my wife took our 14 year old Beatle maniac to his first concert. Near the end he said "you know who lives in L.A.? Ringo. He called it. Logan passed away just before he turned 16. Every time we hear the Beatles it brings us back. Great show Paul!!
It was phenomenal. Beyond words. I must say I felt more like they gave up on keeping up with Joe. And they loved it. Sir Paul and Joe together. My blood pressure went through the roof. A natural high to say the least. I'd have given my right arm to be there. ❤❤
Paul McCartney is the rock and roll Beethoven of our time. I ask you all, how blessed are we to have lived in time where we could hear his music and to be able to see him perform as well?
My dad (bass) was his roommate when they both lived in a farmhouse rental when attending Kent and the played a short bit together then ...I never met Joe and inconveniently missed the few opportunities that i had and didn't fully understand exactly who he was then in talent and fame back then... but as a kid I did like his music without even knowing it was him.
Paul McCartney is amazing! He is a true legend. Talent just flows through him. Everything he does is a gift to humanity! Rock on Paul 🤘. May God bless and keep you with us another 81 years!
Here's another view point on the "legend" adjective nonsense in relation to Joe Walsh. Mr. Fitz is absolutely right. Have no idea what Paul collaborated with Walsh on, and that alone is revealing....Walsh's sole contribution in the pantheon of rock music legend, lore and recordings is probably nothing more than the opening guitar lick on The Eagles' "Life in the Fast-Lane". Oh, and his Funk #49 Rolling Stones inspired guitar lick from his James Gang days. Theresa, you aren't much of a Beatles fan or authority if you exalt the stage walk-on by Walsh when McCartney and Wings are belting out Golden Slumbers and The End from Abbey Road. You don't have a clue how iconic those tracks are and the individually performed guitar parts of the Beatles on The End. To have that instrumental segue trivialized by McCartney and Walsh with all the silly gyrations, contortions, facial expressions and hand gestures is just a pure, unadulterated debasement of the original recording and a trashing of Lennon, Harrison guitar contributions. How dare you and Travis-picker attack Mr. Fitz....how dare you! And, I also take issue with your characterization of Joe Walsh as an amazing musician. What poppycock! The only thing amazing about Walsh is that he has remained alive as long as he has given his decades of anti-social behavior, drug and alcohol abuse....which is chronically on display whenever he opens his mouth. I'd suggest Theresa you grow a set and look back and get your musical facts straight before popping off on here with these silly emotionally-based, but objectively tortured assertions. You and Travis-picker desecrate all that is good about The Beatles, McCartney, Wings, Lennon, Harrison, Linda et al. with this shallow nonsense. Take it back...
This made my day when it rocked thru my house! Joe Walsh ROCKED the ending out of this, Sir Paul could do no wrong. (Phew!) . . .must say Paul is so dog gone good lookin still.
I cried out watching this video💔 what it would be when this old guy will cross away! Oh plsss GOD give some years plsss. Love you PAUL as i loved JOHN and GEORGE and RINGO🙏
I remember being a little boy, and all of a sudden growing up from cartoons to Side 2 of Beatles Abbey Road. I listened to it every day in the summer of 1970.
As a boy who grew up in Wichita, Ks as a Beatles fan (you make the connection with Joe Walsh), I found this so lovely. In later years I saw Paul at Denver Pepsi Center where the lead guitarist welcomed his family from out of town from Durango, Co. The best talent comes from small towns, right? I mean, Liverpool wasn't exactly a large town ever, right? Talent comes from all walks of life, in small corners and small spaces.
Agree with much of what was said regarding Paul & Joe and the quality of Paul’s band. It was a fun listen. Huge fan of both legends. Showing some age, but still rock’n none the less. The world and I are better for it. Well done.
Thank God I grew up in the Beatles era, starting from early High School. It was the best ever era for great music. Today's offerings are pretty pathetic.
I do not understand how someone can be this good. Whether its genius or work ethic I don't know, but Paul McCartney single handedly changed all of popular music in a very profound way.
Genius AND work ethic. He never gave up, he never stopped creating, he never let the critics define him, and he never stopped loving life. Truly a one in six billion talent!
My all time favorite Medley from them, maybe all time favorite! Cant believe he performed that (never thought I'd see it!) and sounded that good! Thank You!
Another example of The Beatles doing the exact right thing at the perfect time. On their last album, the final words of their final song (Her Majesty doesn't count) are "and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." Perfect
Paul sounds pretty perfect, and I like his little riffs in between Joe's solo. Fuck knows if I'll be able to live to be their age, I think if you're doing something you love and you want to keep going you can, and they're keeping on for the majority of people who can't say that for themselves.
The world of music seems to have passed me by this last 50 years. But in the last few years I have discovered Eagles music and now possibly the best composition that John and Paul penned. Absolutely amazing!!!!
Lets appreciate and enjoy Paul while we still have the man on this earth. ..one day when he leaves us the world with stop spinning and a dark cloud will surround us....
@ steff serpent...I remember in '77 when Keith was having a lot of drug issues and reading in the music mags that everyone figured he had about 2 weeks left to live. Go figure, the man is still here!
@@greglapointe1311 Go figure, he's still here ? He got his sh**t together, & decided it's time to chill out with the booze & drugs. Most every rock star goes down that dark road........Some make it out alive, & some don't. Peace
One of the best concerts I've ever been to. I'm an old-timer, having seen multiple Zeppelin concerts. Jeez, my daughter and I saw half the Beatles performing on the same stage.
Seguo i beatles e ciò che di loro resta da quando avevo 8 anni, conosco a memoria ogni brano. Mi commuove vedere Paul ancora così è energico anche se la sua voce a volte stenta, il suo graffio risolve qualunque cosa. Enorme PAUL! LOVE YOU da sempre.
He's quite a character...I was blessed to see him play with Glen Frey in the 3,000 seat Westbury Music fair, ( in the round) from the second row....this was in 1995 Joe was very funny when he talked to the audience between songs. He was also very drunk, but never missed a beat. Glad he got his act together.
To Ekkie,.. from 3yrs ago,.. - J.C. they played their god-dam hearts out in Hamburg,.. Pant, Pant,.. Paul had to build up a resilience,.. his voice was in demand. - I would've LOVED to see em,.. before they meant anything to anyone,.. those would've been the daze,.. forever lost now.
I remember seeing Joe Walsh (as part of the trio The James Gang) back in Cleveland. They were the loudest band I had heard up until that time. And Joe's guitar playing was phenomenal. I think it cost $0.75 to get in.
WHen the Beatles started people from Liverpool said Paul could sing anything and make it a hit. SO he made a recording of Mary had a little Lamb. It was a hit .
The one and only, beloved Sir Paul McCartney. 🙏 🎉❤ Love you Paul, so grateful for the magical music 🎶. Jamming with Mr. Walsh and the boys, on the classic- the End. Such a great unique jam of the Beatles. Each distinct guitar 🎸 playing. Fantastic. Beatles forever 🕉
