Great video. Helped me with my Li-Ion upgrade on and Icon i40. Understand now what to do with the new charger and what to take out from the old one. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
Thank you so much!!!! All the videos I watched on converting my club car never say anything about those two wires from the charge plug. Been stressing about what to do, now I know. I have a different design club car than you so my conversion to a different charging port for lithium was easier, accessing on board computer was a bit more involved. Thanks again for posting this video you helped me a lot.
Nice build. I recently saw an interesting golf cart build. The guy added a gasoline generator so he could do long distance. Muffler was fairly quiet. Series hybrid EV. Like a FiskerEV
Really well put together video and information. I just installed the ECO Battery 51V 105AH thru hole kit in my club car precedent and it fit like a glove. No cutting to get it to sit flat and the positive and negative is opposite so the cables are long enough. Not being critical of your install but thought I would share. I share your thoughts on lead acid batteries. Also I will look into selling the used batteries to the parts store!
Hey thanks for the video. Allied sent me a solenoid and voltage controller. Should I keep the original club car solenoid? 2007 club car precedent. Thanks
@@kartkrazy I see this comment so often. When it reality, it makes no difference at all. You're getting rid of 300 lbs of lead acid and replacing it with 90 lbs of lithium. You could hold the battery in your lap and the cart would ride just fine.
I have a 2010 Club Car Precedent so my setup is different. I have 4 12 volt lead acid batteries and would like to do the conversion. Looks like my computer is in the middle like a console. 2 batteries on each side. Would I take out that computer completely to make room for the Allied?
@@terryalverson4741 you have to have the controller An easier option would be to get the Eagle kit from bigbattery.com then you would not have to move anything Make sure to use my promo code “stege10” at big battery if that’s the route you choose to go and save yourself some $$$
for a 2017 club precedent, how many AH are required for normal operation. how many batt did you test to settle on Allied. or u a spokesman for allied? Thanks
My favorite set up is this one from big battery Use my promo code “stege10” at checkout and save $$$ bigbattery.com/products/48v-falcon-elite-kit-lifepo4-61ah-3-1kwh/
Not sure as it came with the kit. You might try Amazon. Also, if you go back in the playlist and watch a video, entitled Bandit part 10 you can see where I used a Noco plug with similar results.
I got a question maybe you can answer. I have a 2016 Cushman Hauler 800 but it has 7 8v batteries instead of 6 like I would expect. I've only seen 48v Cushman Haulers. Any idea what is going on? Can I replace it with a 48v lithium set up?
@@kartkrazy I didn't look, Could be! Do all 48 volt carts have an extra battery for accessories? It does have lights and an electric dump bed. If I do go to a lithium set up can I just keep the lead acid battery for the accessories? Thanks for the reply, BTW!
Question: I’m completely new to golf carts and golf cart mechanics in general. What do you think the odds of a first timer doing a lithium conversion successfully? I just inherited from my mother in law a mint 2000 Ezgo Txt golf cart and the first thing I want to do is a lithium conversion, but the shops charge an arm and a leg.
@@kartkrazy What are your thoughts on a 48v 94Ah system like Badger EVO which is not as pricey as systems like Roypow or Trojan? What if the Ezgo txt we inherited is 36v?
@@chrisginoc battery EVO is a scam stay away. I would go with bigbattery.com and use my promo code “stege10” and save 10%!! They have 36 and 48v batteries
Nice job, what does that kit cost? A little tip for the next time you want to drill a hole in existing spot where old battery light is just take a piece of scrap wood and you can use a spring clamp to hold it and this way you have a solid spot to start your pilot bit on your hole saw and it shouldn't move around on you.Merry Christmas.
The best price I am seeing right now on a kit is about $2400. I did the block of wood trick but did not know about the spring clamp. That is a great idea!! Merry Christmas to you too 👍🏻😎
Ok so I bought the Vatrer 48V LiFePO4 and followed your same install method you did for your brand....I have a 2015 CC Precedent and previous had the speed code removed and going 25mph on lead acid....now with the new batteries I can only get 10mph...any suggestions?
I have never heard of that. Maybe something with the battery? Can you put a multimeter to it and check voltage right at the battery? Should be 50-51 volts fully charged
@@kartkrazy possibly not but I did flip it back and forth to see if that was the issue. Should I disconnect the battery put it in tow and then reattach? Or did I mess something up?
@kartkrazy most carts today and those you see in golf cart communities are already equipped to run headlights, horns, usb ports, sound bars, etc. They're not as basic as what you've shown. They need more.
Here is a link to the follow up video where we added headlights, tail lights, etc. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uu5iZQwU2Ec.htmlsi=-lCq9IUXYAiVRZAp
@@kartkrazy That's the thing so does everyone. I have yet to see a conversion where it isn't on pass side. They thought of everything else. They should include a longer cable for the price!
