Unfortunately my first video got taken down due to "copyright", and even though I appealed it with a valid argument, they still declined it :/
It's incredibly disheartening to try and do my best with editing and trying to avoid copyright/be qualified under the Fair Use law, only to be told it's not good enough.
Nonetheless, if you had watched this reaction previously and are coming here to give it a view/like/comment, you are the best and I appreciate you ❤️
I'm sorry for all the center cams; I just want to share my reaction with you and I'll do whatever I can to do so.

This was... a really good film.
It was intense, emotional, and pretty hilarious at times too. I feel like I didn't talk that much in this reaction, and for this, I think that's okay. There were so many emotional moments where all I could do is just watch and listen; every performance was great. Seeing Robin Williams play this more serious role was amazing, and Matt Damon was EXCELLENT. I really enjoyed this film, and almost cried at like two parts, and I'm surprised I didn't-- but I hope you all enjoy this reaction as well.
* PLEASE NOTE
Like all my other reactions, please know that just because I don't include a certain part of the movie, doesn't mean that I didn't see it or watch it or react to it! I edit the way that I edit these to avoid any and all copyright issues with RU-vid!

At the time it was made, Robin Williams, obviously, was one of the biggest stars in the world. But he admitted that when he read the script that he knew it was one of those movies that just needed to be made and, in fact, he took a major salary cut because he really believed in this movie.

Growing up, Matt Damon was actually more like the smartass Harvard kid than he was like Will Hunting. Damon actually went to Harvard, and he wrote an early form of this story (Good Will Hunting) as a class assignment while at Harvard. Affleck was actually more like Will Hunting... he grew up fairly poor with an alcoholic father. On an interesting side note... Ben's father was actually a janitor at Harvard for a while. This later figured into the script when Affleck and Damon rewrote Damon's short story into a screenplay.

The "it's not your fault" scene is so powerful and real because there's a big difference between knowing it's not your fault on a conscious logical level and BELIEVING it on a deeper emotional level, that was big step towards him actually believing it's not his fault rather than knowing it's not his fault

I like her reactions. She's a pretty sharp cookie. There are so many reactors who either pause every 3 to 5 seconds to give us their extended version of a personal opinion, or a dumb & dumber explanation of their own brilliance. They ignore that we're watching to see their "reaction", and they use this platform to prop themselves up. She doesn't seem to do that. Pretty cool.

32:43 You can literally see Sean pushing aside every one of Will's defenses. Every attempt to deflect so that he doesn't have to look at the truth he's been afraid to face this whole time. It's probably one of the first times in Will's life the he was vulnerable and someone was actually there to support him. Great scene.

There were 2 main improv moments in this movie - the first was when Robin Williams character was talking about his wife farting in her sleep, even the camereman was laughing (you could see the camerea shaking), the second was when Robin was reading the letter, his response "son of a bitch, stole my line" was not in the script.

One of the two most famous "I know" moments in film history, and it shows how context is everything! When Princess Leia tells Han Solo she loves him, his response is "I know" and the audience laughs. But when Sean keeps telling Will "it's not your fault" and Will says "I know" then bring on the tears! Absolutely brilliant scene.

@HarryUzumaki - you know how famous a scene is when it becomes a part of pop culture. I just saw the Geico commercial on TV where the Gecko is telling a biker he can save money on his motorcycle insurance and says "you deserve to save $$$" and the biker goes "I know". They keep repeating this over and over and the biker is about to start crying. It's a total takeoff on the "it's not your fault" scene!

Yeah, this is a great Robin Williams flick. And total props to Affleck and Damon for the script and their acting chops. But whenever Robin Williams comes up, I always suggest, The Fisher King, as it is very dear to me and an amazing psychological drama and fantasy, directed by the Monty Python director and animator, Terry Gilliam. Strong themes of class, mental health, social responsibility, and intimacy. It's a personal favorite. (And nobody has yet taken my advice.)

It *is* a good ending. After all, Will can land any job he wants, so the most important thing is that he plays his hand at personal happiness. He will be just fine, in California, as far as jobs go.

@AlphaMorion - I think one of the biggest things Sean finally got through to Will about was this - no, Skyler isn't as smart as Will, but who is? She's not exactly a dummy, she is an intelligent person you can have a real conversation with. And she's beautiful and, most important of all, she loves Will. What more could he possibly ask for? So Will finally figured out he needed to go see about a girl.

@@moeball740 mmm. And he helped Will accept who he is. And reconcile his past. A lot of people in Will's place feel the same. They don't feel like they deserve or need love. They hate getting closer then just friends and sometimes not even that. So for Will to finally get through some of that really helped.

A couple of recommendations, director Gus Van Sant's follow up to this film, titled Finding Forrester. Which also happens to be Sean Connery's 2nd to last on screen performance and he does a brilliant job with the part. The Jim Carrey film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which is all in all a brilliant movie with an unbelievable cast. Last one, since it fits the theme of famous comedians in dramatic roles, is the oft forgotten Adam Sandler film with Don Cheadle, Reign Over Me.

@PO one of my favorite scenes in FF is when the teacher doesn't believe an inner city black kid who's into basketball could actually be intelligent. So the prof keeps grilling Forrester rapid fire questions on Shakespeare. And Forrester keeps answering just as quickly, often quoting passages word for word, which completely frustrates the teacher. It's a great scene!

Dang, Sam, you're really good at this! I first heard about your channel earlier today while looking at the Twitter of another reactor Mary, loved this movie, and am so glad I decided to check out your channel. Subbed right away. You remind me of my little sis, a lot, and your observations are fully legit and fascinating. From your words, your expressive face, what you choose to edit, you 'get' it. Well done!
