There was a line on ESPN the other day where a guy was commenting on women's basketball while an nba or men's college game was on commercial and when he got the cue they were going back to the other game he said "alright and now let's get back to real basketball" didn't see the fallout but it was pretty cringry
Like…why? If you’re swapping for something identical, the cops are still gonna know it’s you when you keep running, yeah? Momentary confusion would be cleared up really quickly when the other driver panics, pulls over, and hands off his license and registration.
I had to go back and hear it again. His voice was just incredulous at the thought of a female driver. Obviously they had been chasing a male and hearing female was a WTF moment, but it doesn't change the way it sounded to is. And it sounded funnier than a motherfucker!
The car they followed after the swap were 4 completely different people. The original guy hired the 4 people to drive a car similar to his while he stayed in the underpass. He is still there to this day.
As a Brit, watching American news is just like a video game to me, and the fact this is like some sort of sports event is truly bizarre but also amazing and I cant seem to look away. Even if you guys hate us Brits, I love you yanks so much lol.
To be fair, Americans mostly just hate other Americans at this point. Most either forget that other countries exist, or just use the existence of other countries to fuel their racism. Hatred of the British isn't even something you hear around the Fourth of July. Plus, personal opinion of course, you guys put out better content via BBC than we would typically have access to otherwise.
as an american i can agree. i’m in iowa and it’s a lot less worse here but it’s honestly so horrifying but yet interesting. iowas high speed chases are more like going 70-80 and nobody really ever gets hurt. we had a speed chase i think thursday or friday and that car went 60 throughout town just to get stopped at a golf course by 6 cops😭california is so much different than the midwest but it’s literally like gta in real life in other places. high speed chases are so fun to watch but it’s absolutely terrifying knowing that car can hit a person or kill someone just like that
@@Sienisota while I’d somewhat agree, it’s also the comparison in populations we have, as Nordic countries have like 5-10 million people total and we have 331 million. So this just gives us such a wide range of characters
When you think about it those guys were on a genius level plan. He got his friends to show up with an identical car, if only he just hid on foot the friends could have just driven away on cue, pulling away police attention and having committed no crimes (other than speeding and some evasion, which is less severe than homicide). Fortunately those gamers had like 3 brain cells between them all
Exactly. This reminds me of Fast and Furious 5 during the bridge scene where Mia shouts through the earpiece ''you guys just carved out a 10 second window. Make it count!''
It's actually hilarious how many times he would have been caught at a traffic light but the cars in front of him move out of the way because they see police lights behind them.
Was thinking the same💀idk it’s also safety cause if there was a shooting ofc you want the least amount of citizens. A weird thing in our polic system I do think as well tho but inevitably for safety 💪🏽
Because no one wants to deal with insurance if this asshole hit their car... kinda sad to say, but I'd gtfo with the quickness, having been the victim of two hit-and-runs
I mean unless I unavoidably get head on collided like.. Why would you barrier a criminal with your car, I can just imagine how mad I would be if he dented and scratched my car. I wouldnt call insurance its not major but I'd still be left with the hit and I need my damn car everyday for work too now. So basically I gotta deal with another thing in my mind for my cars cosmetics :/
as stupid as the other three people were to participate & risk the arrest for something they didn't do, that's a real ride or die friendship right there
Right, because now they don't just get aiding and abetting a fugitive. They all ran from the arrest as well, so minimum two major crimes if they don't tag all 4 for causing a vehicle pursuit at dangerous speeds. All 4 could be on the hook for all property damage, private and public, as well as court fines that will pay for chopper fuel. And I'm guessing all 4 of them have either outstanding warrants, unpaid tickets, or at minimum a long felony record meaning this gets them locked up for a while...if it were in literally any place other than LA (or chicago) so they'll be free in a couple days.
I'm baffled how they thought they could attract the attention of the entire police district on them like it's GTA and they could just hop out on foot and outrun an army of police cars and helicopters. How are humans capable of being this stupid? By the time you get to the final boss, you should have a few AoE attacks to just wipe them all out.
Lmao yeah he really didn’t want to believe it was a different car, to be fair the guy was underneath the bridge for such a short period it was hard to believe.
I love watching these with Your Commentary. Something about your Voice and your quick thinking about the Chases is just Perfection. This must have been the guy to Give My neighborhood the "Lock your homes" announcement. There was Sherif on our street... Nevermind I got to where it was 4 Goons being Idiots. Literal Clown car right there.
@@OKayD3N We don’t know whether they like Charlie or not, (we can make a pretty good assumption, but) all we know given the info in the comment is that they admire Charlie’s drive to output news on certain things. It’s like if I made a comment saying I admire how much Mike Tyson trained to become champion. And then you say you don’t like Mike Tyson because he speaks with a lisp. Like those are completely separate thoughts about different subjects. They’re both fine opinions, but they having nothing to do with each other
I really love how Charlie was so confident about it being the same car, then the announcer continues to repeat that it was a different car over and over again. Almost felt like a caleb city moment
@@CrystalRose1111 those are to different cars, the first one is an Audi A6 and the second one is a Mercedes GT 4 door. But from the helicopter perspective and because of the darkness they appear to us viewers as similar
@@CrystalRose1111 He swapped cars, the first one is an Audi A6 and the second one is a Mercedes GT 4. During the 13 second window he exited his car and entered the Mercedes where his 3 friends were waiting (with his female accomplice driving)
CHARLIE BACK TO COVERING GOOFY CHASES LETS GOOOOOOO. I love the videos where he was reacting to random goofy things instead of making commentary about some youtube drama
When he brought up the self driving car, I just realized that'd be an insane powerplay. Get near some bushes, maybe under a bridge, jump out, roll, out of view of cops and the choppers, and just have the car drive around wherever, by itself. You could escape while the cops drive after and chase an empty car for hours. I don't know if these cars have some sensors to detect no occupants or whatever. Just a thought after that, lol. These chases are insane
plot twist: he stayed in the car he was in but had his homies get an identical car tricking the police into thinking they were him but he was still in the same car under the bridge
this reminds me of watchdogs 2 when the cops just would not stop chasing you for accidentally pulling out a gun but you dont want to die so you just keep driving
I like to think that he called his friends and said "I need an out" But in their haste they didn't specify what kind of car he was driving so his friends just happened to bring an almost identical car XD
Not really considering he knew it was the same person right away. Even worse , he thought it was the exact same car. Nobody was fooled even for a second. 25 IQ comment.
@couldyou4745 Missed the joke entirely there, bud. Somehow, you stumbled onto the crux of the joke while still remaining totally oblivious. It's honestly impressive.
My brother once put it this way, even if you managed to outrun the helicopter, radio's are way faster. Once they get a read on your plate, they'll just go wait at your house 🤣
For the second car, they could have preemptively parked a getaway car that they had keys to as a last ditch effort. Edit: never mind they had the other driver so just a getaway car that a friend brought
Here in Texas I've seen so many people do citizen arrest chasing after someone for insurance information. I'm surprised it isn't that common because a lot of times the officer can't do much.
The issue with it is if you got into a minor accident then cause another one to make a citizens arrest I’m pretty sure insurance doesn’t cover that damages since you intentionally damaged your car so you’d have to get them to pull over without physically stopping them which the cops are already trying to do
Ye the reason it's not common is that unless they get out their car and you citizens arrest them there, you're likely breaking the law to chase them down by car. Which wouldn't be less of a crime cause you were tryna arrest someone.
