I actually have all of these gopro’s and aside of hypersmooth, the 5 black is the goat. As far as hypersmooth the 8 is the best. Gopro’s are action cameras and “too smooth” has been a complaint since the 9 launched. You cannot feel detached from what you are filming, and the 8 has just enough hypersmooth to make it feel like you are there, and still get the job done. If you don’t need stabilizing the 5 black is 80-100 bucks and does excellent. The 8 gives the most “in the moment” feeling shots and no major improvements in quality above it. I do use the features on the 9, 10, and 11…… but if i had none I’d buy the 5 or 8 black. Ps- the 10 has amazing battery life over my 9. I don’t know why you had that issue. Keep in mind that with most apps processing before uploading there’s nothing the 8 cant do the others can once you start processing footage. The video quality will be the same.
The 5 is the equivalent of the ipad that apple made forever even when they sold newer models. It’s solid and thats when gopro stepped up their quality.
I bought a new GoPro 8 on sale for $170 and am happy with it. After your video I'm even more satisfied. I didn't notice much difference in quality. Thank you .
First time looking at go pros, i can say that.... to me.. number 8 looks alot better like in the sense of... not to much realism with a cinematic type of color to it which is ideal for videos, but 10 is also better quality. Id probably go with 10, but 8 is really nice i think if it had a front screen. But 8 looks good to me.
I’d say the only one of these cameras that is now lacking is the hero 8. The stabilisation and overall jitteriness of the video is enough to rule that one out. The hero 9,10 and 11 are all very similar, with just small upgrades over the last. But certainly not enough for me to want to upgrade from my hero 9 black.
I was confused but this video has helped me hands down! I’ll go for GoPro 9 since I care a lot about battery and I only need a camera to use underwater and take some pictures here ans there while traveling ans switch it with my iPhone. I’m not a professional or looking for any professional shooting, bottom line 9 will work just fine for me!
@@frontviewmotorcycleno bro. In hungary its not so big diff on used gopro8 and brand new 10 its like 60-80 dollars diff so Im goin to buy a brand new gopro
No one talks about the power on off button on the 8 which is pathetic and once its worn out ur gopro will not be waterproof anymore .From 9 onwards the power on off button is much bigger and raised .So 10 is the perfect one imo right now .
That's a really important detail right there! If the camera is going to lose water-proofness, might as well get a "naked" version for FPV and save 100~ grams.
After this video i decided to upgrade my hero 3+ black with an 8 black. It’s incredible how good is the digital stabilizer. Bought it fo 249 with one year subscription included
I'm ordering my Hero 9 black after owning a Hero 7 white tonight! Honestly I've looked into it and it seems to be the one of the best, if not the best.
I was considering getting the latest Hero11 for the upcoming vacation this summer, but since there is literally no real difference except for the horizon lock I'm going with Hero 10 and saving a couple of bucks. Also I know that I might only use the camera a few times in a year, so...
Only problem I had with your battery test... not ALL battery's are created equal. There's so many factors like, how many charge/discharge cycles has the battery experienced? Battery's age(a brand new Li-Ion battery needs at least 2 to 3 full cycles before it'll take a full charge)? Batteries temperature inside the device. Do all the battery's have the same milli-Amp hour(mAh) rating? For GoPro 9/10/11/12, they all use the same battery format so you could test a single battery across all 4 of those devices. The Hero8 would be odd man out as it's battery case is physically smaller(the 8 is smaller than the later 4 since those 4 use the same Camera housing and thus is it's mAh rating is lower).
Great Video ! on the gopro 11, Horizon Leveling/Lock, you can set this so it rotates? right? I want it to be able to show wipeouts, when we flip the Quads, or ride on the side of hills..ect.
Such a tough decision! I'm on the fence between the 8 and the 11. The 8 is nearly half the price for me, but I really like the extra resolution for smoothing. better stabilization, and more FPS when going for slow mo.... If the price difference weren't so big the 11 would be a no brainer, obviously.
so i got this gopro from 2019 and i have never used it or even unboxed it. now i unboxed it but the battery does not work. how do you think i can make it run up after a long time not starting it. is it doable?
Do you have any issue with Hero10 where it freezes when you're charging? I have a Hero10 that freezes every time I leave it charged for few hours and had to be reset by press and hold MODE. I did an RMA with GoPro but the replacement does the exact same thing too. I think this may be a known issue but not sure if everyone using Hero10 is seeing the same thing
Hello, Which gopro can you recommend me better the 8 or the 10 version? I have never used before and this would be my first buying. I would use only on holiday / trips but not constantly. I would like to use only in 4 K.. I read so many positive and negative comments so I am uncertain about decision. It seems the video quality of the gopro 10 is worse than gopro 8.... Is it possible?
Can someone please me? They don't sell hero8 anymore and the 9 and 10 are the same price! Which one should I get? PS: I don't think the 11 is worth the price. so I am going for 9 or 10.
Hello, i am an owner of a gopro 8. Does the display of the 11 work better than the 8? I think, that the display of my 8 often doesnˋt work well, not good with the sensivity with my finger. Should i by an 11 for better performance? Sorry for my bad and wrong englisch…
Hope you can help me 🙏 GoPro 9 Black makes me some issues that i didn’t had with GoPro 8 Black. I am filming a lot of car racing videos where GoPro camera steady mounted on the car is and filming only one direction. The problem is that i have those movements in the video every time driver turns left or right even as i said camera is on the cars roof recording only one direction. For example i had GoPro 8 Black and never had this issue. Hope you can help. Thank you A
If you spend more and want the most features go for the Hero 11, if you want to spend less go for the 10. If you are really on a budget go for the 8, we would recommend skipping the Hero 9.
Seriously great and very helpful video! Just a couple of things! I think you flipped the battery endurance numbers at the last slide (66 and 69 minutes between the GoPro 9 & 11), and also your audio comparison was slightly lacking, since you didn't put the audio from the same moment from all cameras, and changed the camera you were facing in discord with the one you were sounding at the moment. This resulted in a dynamic-microphone-like effect, and an uneven wind noise which I suspect greatly affected the end result.
Dude off topic, i NEED someone like you to let people know about and check into the delivery scam that GoPro is running when you order directly from them, it's so common im gonna let you google it instead of explain it directly to you.
Hi Versus. Firstly, love your videos. I was wondering if you have any extra gopro's laying around to give away? I am 16 and really like action videography, but my phone just doesn't cut it. Let me know, thanks.
I used GP8 a lot of time underwater, also into the sea and it's still working perfectly. Maybe you had a a faulty door seal... for this stuffs you can contact GoPro and they will replace your broken camera with a new one.
@@matteocanno yes that should be the case but the no questions asked policy applies only for people who have a paid subscription with them and maybe only for devices up to a year from purchase. I got the 11 black now, bought the diving case with it for whenever I wanna dive or also snorkeling. Thank you
@@_velo.v_ oh didn't know it was just for an year. I mean obviously the more protected it is, the longer will last. this stuffs are damn expensive so I actually understand your concern about breaking it for nothing. Have a good shooting 🤙
