This happened in my 24v jetta. The water methanol check solenoid failed open and the intake manifold FILLED with fluid from siphoning. I cannot believe I didn't hydrolock my engine.
This will be a long term experiment. Even though it runs fine again, I'm sure that there's still some fluid in the cooler that isn't being pushed into the intake. Maybe, warmer weather in the summer (with heated boost air) will dry the cooler out completely. When it comes time to part with the car... I'll inspect the cooler for corrosion. Can't pull the front end at home (no garage) and there's never a hoist available at work, to work on my cars on the weekends. =(
Why would windshield fluid drain into the intercooler? That makes no sense. I thought they were seperate systems entirely not connected in any way. Why would they be?
