Gotham Knights DADDY Issues GOT WORSE! Review Season 1 Episode 3 

Gotham Knights season 1 episode 3 review took a LONG time lmao. The worse the show gets the longer the reviews! I hadn't really thought about the daddy issues idea of the show until I heard the cast talk about it. But when they did, boy is it HEAVY in all the characters of this episode. On top of that they doubled down on Batwoman lines, decide to OPEN with a fight which was really not a good idea. And have characters actually just flip personalities after a defusal for no reason whatsoever. This is the most bizarre episode of the 3, we even had a whole police station set up that was entirely pointless. With the 2nd episode dropped 200k of their original 600k viewers. After this one, it's going to be very interesting to see the viewership of episode 4. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

You've gotta love the "man taking credit for a woman's work" line being delivered by the blonde girl who stood silent while an innocent man took credit for her work and risked the foreseeable future in prison.

Got to love how batman (best detective ever) needed a super computer to help do research to figure out what a bad guy was doing, however these teens can just look at something & instantly know exactly what they are doing. Such a believable show 😂

I'm not watching this show but already I'm rooting for the "bad guys". Hell they took out Batman, BATMAN , That deserves some respect.

Disparu! Quick comment, your not wrong about WHY they had "Robin" beat the mutant gang leader but its actually so much worse then that. The Mutants are from the "Dark Knight Returns" graphic novel where an aged older Batman returns to fighting crime and basically fights a guy who has Bane's bodytype and was younger then Batman in an open fight. Batman does this to see if he is as strong as he used to be. Batman gets some good hits in but loses and Carrie Kelly(who they based this Robin on who was a redhead...do Black People have a prejudice against the Irish/Scottish or something? Because they keep replacing Redheads. I know thats not whats going on but its what they are making it appear to be at this point...) manages to save him from the battlefield and become his new Robin. HOWEVER. She doesn't actually beat the Mutants she just tricks them into thinking, through word of mouth, that the Mutants are holding a gang meeting at a location Batman chose. Batman ambushs the Mutant leader in a rematch and uses his superior tactical knowhow to beat him instead of relying on his pure strength and completely demoralizes the Mutant gang to the point that several of them begin to idolize Batman because he's the best. It was well written, logically thought through, iconic, and cool as fuck. And these assholes raped it. They raped it into the dirt. Remember Disparu, things aren't as bad as they seem on this show, they are worse.

I'm calling it, Harvey Dent is working for the Court of Owls and will be revealed to be Batman's killer. That whole Bruce trusted you scene just confirmed it to me.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me (apart from the pattern of stopping to talk to the villain even if it makes no sense) is that if you wanted a smaller physically weaker character to win in a fight you can do it easily, in fact it can show their ingenuity and it would suit a bat-person perfectly. What is a signature thing for Batman? His toolbelt and all the gadgets in it, so why not show a clever use of them to win a fight? Because that takes effort and we can have none of that.

The Joker's actress was also in the High school musical the musical the series, which she got written off before she even got developed.

I remember the plot of Batman Begins, so water soluble chemicals would lead me to think they're tampering with the city's water supply.

Can't blame Castiel for being pissed off, he has to be part of the show. When Batman goes "I'm Batman" Robin pays attention, and goes "I'm Robin" even when not in costume because she is just that thick. The thing with legal proceedings is that just a confession wouldn't stick, with how braindead the dude is no jury would believe he's capable of hacking something, especially since he can't even tell how "he did it". This should get the blonde thrown in prison - or juvie, since the characters aren't old enough for actual prison. Also no one has ever seen me and Batman at the same time - coincidence? You decide!

When I told my mom how often portrayals of abusive parents avoid moms who abuse, and when I mentioned the statistics of mother's abusing children being quite higher than the abuse by dads in the U.S.A. alone, with such abuse mostly being well-reported regardless of the sexes (unlike S.A. cases, in which reporting female perps has unique dilemmas) yet seems so ignored by media, she was pretty aggravated, partly due to getting flashbacks to what her mother did to her. Listening to my mom and her sisters talk over the years, I learned that when my mother was a teen to early 20s in the 1980s, she was verbally/physically abused by her mother, and, for a time, her mother's mom, while her dad and her mother's dad would defend her and try to calm her mom and grandma down. My mother was punched in the face by her mom, she was even beat with a sturdy broomstick to the point of the stick breaking, surprising them (my mother's musculoskeletal system is actually somewhat abnormally strong for a 5'3" woman, she also heals from wounds pretty swiftly). She was also almost stabbed in the neck with a pen. Her mom even choked my mom's brother when he was a teen. Almost killed him. My maternal grandma is a little too strong for her 5'2" size. My mom is FAR from the only person to have intense experiences with the person who birthed them. I've learned of horror stories from other people (I had no idea there were moms who punched their kid in the gut!). We know about what dads have done, almost everything we watch keeps telling us. But the portrayal of such mothers takes too damn long to get to the next one, to this day. As far as I know, I'm the only writer who's planning a *new* story for characters who has a scene in which their mom gets violent with their kid. Every thought I had, even the idea of Jen hitting her 14 year old son in the head with a beer bottle, could be found when listening to/reading what their mom did to them in reality. I just don't get why mommy issues are put on the back burner so often when thinking of an abused character. This! Is! Real!

The part I liked and I'm not gonna lie, was the talk between Carrie and Turner, a lot of people make fun of how Batman takes orphans to train and fight crime in colorful uniforms, but most of the Robins and members of the batfamily were people who were inspired by him and started to fight crime for themselves, and seeing how inexperienced and bad they were, and that they weren't going to give up even though he told them to stop, Bruce was forced to train them, so that they could do the job properly and not kill themselves or someone innocent in the meantime. The only member of the bafamily that Bruce picked up to train and be his partner of his own will was Jason Todd.

Didn't Heath Ledger's joker enter a room full of rich people saying he was the evenings entertainment, ya just gotta love the script robbery 😂

It's so damn enjoyable how Joker's Daughter is the only character who occasionally injects some sense in the script but otherwise goes along with the plot. She'll say something like "Hey, dumbass, call the bomb patrol" or "you're a teenager, you don't know how to stop the bomb and stopping the aerosolization of the chemicals is the best way to mitigate risk", but then STILL CONTINUES watching the kids do whatever they want. Wait, enjoyable? No, I meant annoying.

Regarding your sewer question: yes, it is possible to fall down one. Modern sanitary sewers are pressurized, so cracking them open is a major event that requires shutting down the line (and would mean the manhole is surrounded by a work crew), but modern storm sewers (and older combined sewers) are gravity conduits, so the manhole can be opened and left open without compromising the system. I’ve climbed into a manhole that was absolutely deep enough to at least snap both legs if I’d fallen off the ladder. (The fact that this hypothetical Wayne just happened to fall down one is farcical, but it’s not impossible as deaths go.)

The move that she pulls at 1:54 isn't usually a terrible move; if you're around the same size as your opponent, you can usually get your arm around their neck and begin the chokehold. The only problem is that he has about 120 pounds on her, and trying to choke someone who outweighs you by that much is nearly impossible. Speaking from experience.

Yes, sewers can be big enough and fast enough to be incredibly dangerous. Not the residential ones, but where the residential lines merge into main lines, they can be quite large, quite fast, quite deep, and with air that is not safe to breathe. As for the residential bit, that's only true _most_ of the time. There are sometimes semi-forgotten sections that end up under driveways or similar. When one fails and caves in, it usually makes the news.

Since I didn't find a comment concerning the rockets: the rocket itself is just the propellant, hence e.g. the name RPG - "rocket propelled grenade". There are high explosive, fragmentation, kinetic penetrator, thermobaric and a whole lot of other warheads on those rockets that you need to differentiate. So that thing was actually plausible - I don't know about correct because I don't know how different providers of military equipment would mark their goods, especially those in Gotham And another thing: shooting into melee (a proper brawl, not a catfight to be fair) is much, much harder than it might look. You have moving targets, one (or more) of which you absolutely may not hit, and you always have the risk of overpenetration, especially when using a rifle against unarmored meatsacks. If the fight choreography was actually as good as the plot demanded, I don't think I would have taken the shot either. Or I would have if I hated my boss, who knows

They’re literally just doing the Court of Owls storyline from New 52 Batman except without Batman.

Robin, who weighs about 75-80 pounds, hits two "mutants" who weigh about 180+, with her batline and pulls them right off of their feet and backwards in the span of about 1.5 seconds meaning she had to have just yanked them. But 80 pounds CAN'T do that to 180 pounds. Its basic science.

Fun fact: Chemical weapons are actually far less dangerous than they are usually portrayed as. Pound for pound a bullet is far more lethal, much cheaper to produce and much easier to deploy. The horror of chemical weapons is not their lethality but the gruesome way they kill. Case and point: In 1995 the extremist aum sect (of course it was a religously motivated group) managed to succesfully deploy around 30 kg of Sarin gas in five main subway stations in Tokyo during rush hour. Each of these stations has a passenger throughput of tens of thousands per hour (Tokio station alone has an average of 64.000 per hour) and even more during rush hour. Sarin gas is one of the most toxic substances to ever be developed by mankind. Just one miligram of sarin gas on your skin will kill a human in minutes. They had 30 million mg of Sarin. Enough to theoretically kill 30 million people. How many actually died? The anwser is 13. Additionally there were around 1.000 injured 37 of them heavily and another 4.000 that had some mild symptoms like miosis, headaches, short breath and nausea. Now to be fair, the sect didn't deploy the Sarin gas in the most optimal conditions. The Sarin gas they had had a relativly low purity and the deployment method was not optimal. Furthermore they miscalculated the rate at which the sarin gas would evaporate and underestimated the airflow in the subway tunnels so that quite a lot of the sarin gas flowed into just empty subway tunnels. Nontheless the point still stands. Chemical weapons are extremly deadly IF you can deliver them properly. But even under the most optimal conditions most of your chemical weapon won't have any effect.

One way to make the "robin wasn't electrocuted" scene make a little bit of sense could be that the zipwire handle could be made of plastic or some other non-conductive material. Though with how hot live wires tend to get and how quickly they heat up, I'd imagine that wire would set not just the handle, but also the man at the other end ablaze. Not to mention that the guy is in dire need of serious medical attention with no guarantee of survival, even without the fire. Way to go with the "no killing" rule, "Robin."

The mutant gang beating Batman happened in the Dark Knight returns, so maybe it’s a slight nod to that. Be that as it may, Batman was still alive in that story.

Ok maybe at a storytelling pitch if the character didn't know Batman than maybe when X character reads his journal then they might consider them conspiracy theories. However this all falls apart when in previous EP they literally got chased by a so called person from those conspiracy theories. AKA Talon the master assassin who is about as useful as a paper bag in the sea if he couldn't kill these bunch of muppets. So a Nursery rhyme has been proven to be true but Muppet A is just going to disregard his journal as a bunch of conspiracy theories. I don't know if I got chased by say Humpty dumpty then maybe I wouldn't disregard other fairy tales as false. CW I have to ask but do you check that your writers can read words bigger then four letters?

To be fair, not firing an assault rifle at someone directly grappling a colleague is probably a good idea, because there's a fair chance the larger callibre rounds those things fire (looks like some model of AK, so probably either 7.62x39 or 5.45x39) will go straight through them both. I realize it's purely accidental, stopped clock is right twice a day and all that, but the writers actually gave their villian minions some trigger discipline for once. And no, they don't get any credit for that.

The BEST part about the "I'm not about to let a man take credit for a woman's work" line getting reused here is that somewhere along the road, someone had enough sense to CUT IT from Batwoman. It never made it into an episode after all the backlash to it in the trailer so the writers literally put it here just so the line would make it to air somehow. At best, it's them patting themsleves on the back by calling back to their old work, at worst, it was added here out of spite for it getting cut from Batwoman. Let's be real... these are some spiteful people making this so I'm inclined to believe the latter.😂

This is a struggle for me, I want to see Disparus take down of this, but I dont want to know anything about that trainwreck
