Gotham Knights Season 1 Episode 2 They Fly Now?! Review CW TV Show 

Gotham Knights season 1 episode 2 review, we're past the DC CW Pilot and somehow it got, worse? The Bat computer is even less impressive than the first episode! Someone stole all of their keyboards and the computer itself. We have a supposedly deadly and dangerous assassin who can't push open a door blocked by a kid. And easily the most obvious plot twist in the world that makes the supposedly smartest criminal look like an absolute fool. When the pilot was already dodgy, the 2nd episode gives us a taste of what the rest of the season will be like, and it's absolutely worthy of the title, Batwomen 2.0. But what did you think? Gotta love how the master assassin who took out the Batman cannot kill even one of five meddling kids.

Talon #1: "You know, a thought occurs: Bruce Wayne was Batman. We ensured that people knew that. We also ambushed him at his most vulnerable." Talon #2: "What's your point, bro?" Talon #1: "Most people would just assume one of his numerous enemies got to him. Like, there are a good dozen that could have pulled that off. Why are we exposing ourselves by hiring crooked cops and trying to frame this kid who's about as threatening as a cocker spaniel? We could've just killed him, dipped, and let the people wonder." Talon #2: "Yeah... This is the GCPD we're talking about. The guy who'd summon the Batman to solve riddles you could find on Google."

Robbing the store is not a victimless crime. The hammer is going to come down on the employees who work there. "Take what you need." Because high end clothes is a "need". I'm starting to wonder if the writers read Batman:Fortress.

I miss stories with just a simple solid moral message. Be kind to everyone. Don't get too greedy. Stand up to evil. It's important to grow up. Most modern day CW writers think they're telling ground breaking stories that will be told for generations when they're actually the stories that publishers use to burn to keep themselves warm.

Considering that this was made by the same creators of Batwoman, I think it’s safe to say that the heroes letting the criminals go will become a running theme

The reason so many keyboards are missing from the Batcave is because the people who work in the CW offices answering phones and sending emails needed their keyboards back.

Where the hell are her parents? She's 15, what he's doing is 100% illegal and he cannot either question nor detain a minor on any charges if she's under age, she's not even out of freaking High School and she's in questioning for a crime, there's levels of completely wrong and then there's the fact that Harvey Dent is MEANT TO BE A LAWYER! He's not even supposed to ask questions in this way, he's meant to be in the freaking court room!

The hacker girl stole all the bat keyboards lol. I lost it right there. The actors are down to stealing set props to eat.

If you speak about the "Court of Owls" then the Talon comes for your head. They kill everyone that knows about them. To paraphrase Jack Sparrow: "Everyone? Then where do the stories come from?"

It's honestly really painful to watch misha collins go from supernatural to this abomination of a show. Poor guy

This show is made for the people at the defunct G4tv who asked interview questions such as 'Why should Bruce Wayne be cancelled?" I hope they love it.

They also make it sound like every teenage hacker would be able to get into a bank's computer systems and know what they're looking for. Movies have made it seem like a hacker can hack into any system in seconds. Takes like 5 seconds, 10 if they used special characters in their 12 characters or less password. Hold on, I'm confused. Isn't Harvey Dent the District Attorney? What is he doing going on police investigations?

To be honest the whole deal with the Court of Owls is like that in the comics An immortal secret organization that manages all crime in a city is a good concept, it was just never meant to be for Batman or any long-running crime fighting comic Cause it fucks up any past or future story you could ever make cause you'll have to include them every time

Duela Dent did call herself 'the joker's daughter, but Harvey Dent is her real father. He abandoned her at birth because she wasn't a twin, but he named her 'Duela' anway. She might not know it, but Harvey does.

I can't help but wonder if Harvey's comments at the start are just in reaction to a more impressive batcave instead of the one we actually got.

When the fake Robin kick the fake talon in the chest, he grunted, could've been from the air just exhaling from the hit, but I truly do believe they don't know the that talon are NOT supposed to feel pain. Vaguely remembering that from the animated batman vs Robin movie, which I should go watch instead of this, ha!

When no one was looking, Lex Luthor stole 5 keyboards... that's as many as 5 ones, and that's poor set design! Is Talon supposed to be Killer Moth?

I still maintain that "turn your brain off, it'll be fine" is the perfect description of modern "entertainment".

I came up with better plots when I was playing Batman as a little kid and those stories involved dinosaurs and the Harlem Globetrotters.

Each episode of a CW show continues to demonstrate how little CW writers know about how the real world works.

This show would actually be a pretty good parody if they hired a skilled comedy writer to put in the necessary gags so the audience would know it's a parody. It's too bad Mel Brooks isn't working anymore because all it needs is his touch. Most of it is perfect the way it is.

The thing with these CW shows is that they pretend to be hyper realistic, but when shit hits the fan they are goofy af. If the tone of the entire show is campy, then I can get behind it and forgive a lot of the problems you mention, but this is just crazy. You can't pretend to be hyper realistic while having shit in here that makes no sense and takes you out of that hyper realistic feeling.

The Court of Owls would be lucky to survive ACCIDENTAL destruction when all the loony tunes Batman kept in check went ham on the place. Which admittedly would be an AWESOME series.

And did Hacker Chick's boyfriend even have the perfect A grade in Computer Science Class so that the police would even believe he could have hacked aaaall the banks?

That zipline thing... I would have expected Girl-Joker to look at it and say "where does she get those wonderful toys"...

pirates of the caribbean 1, a movie from 2003, knew that there need to be survivors to tell a story. How come a 2023 show doesn't understand this?

Batman is so renowned for being prepared( actually Overprepared) for any contingency. Anyone who knew anything about the character would know that he would never leave easily found evidence of his identity anywhere and his security would be complex and layered. Hell. Anyone really familiar with Batman would know that he would have contingencies for his own death leaving Robin and / or Turner everything he could to help them survive , protect themselves, and solve his murder.

I was about to defend them by saying the reason why the diary was opened in that page was because he was writing about the case before he died and probably was in a hurry to hide it when he was about to be killed so he didn't have time to close the book and place it well... But then they say he was effing reading about his first ever case which brings up a lot of issues... First one is a nitpick... Was batman writing on a Japanese notebook and the book is from right to left so the front is our back in western standard because why the hell was his first case at the end of the diary not the beginning or did the case take that long to record that the book was almost over before he got their names (and he decided to give himself a summary for these morons to read all from the only page they looked at)... Secondly, why the hell was he reading his own diary considering his first case that led him into crime fighting??? That should have been plastered on his head forever and should only be looking at case files from the case not his diary... Thirdly, he just happened to be reminiscing through his diary when he got killed because why then didn't he close the diary and place it the right way... Fourthly, so in his first case, he got so far as to find out the name of their organization (somehow) and then stopped after that till now so he can reminisce about it again... Apparently, something much more important came up between then that made him stop investigating the most important incident in his life and the thing that got him into crime fighting in the first place... Even drax the destroyer didn't stop looking for Thanos and he had a universe to search not to talk of the court of really noisy flashy owls that a stuck in a single city... My god, you see how useful good world building is and how one single not thought out mistake can be very counterproductive to your entire narrative...

Taking clothes from a Goodwill makes more sense. They could even say they are recycling the clothes.

Okay Talon would have to be pretty strong and the sword be very sharp to cut a lock and puncture a car hood and engine block. Yet can't exert that same force to push the blocked door or shatter a simple glass window? Like dude just use the hilt of your sword and break the glass. 😂

They do realize they're minors, but they are being interrogated without a parent or dcfs type of person. And I find it hilarious that your habit of giving them nicknames because you have trouble remembering character names in this one is to call the one his character name from the last show he was on

I had been listening for a while and needed to pause it to put my daughter on the bus. I came back and discovered at 13 minutes in I'm not even halfway through this horror show! You make it so hilarious! Keep reviewing the show so I can just watch your reviews and not have to watch the actual show myself.

I just have to ask why Joker felt the need to sell the watch in a city that has a secret organization after her as well as the police? First get some distance from the city then get some funds. It isn't like Gotham exists on a small island in the middle of the Pacific.

Wait, wah? I think I missed that in the ep. 1 review. Why is Harvey Dent a policeman? He's a lawyer, right? I will admit to being more of a marvel fan than DC, but I've never heard of Dent being in The GCPD payroll.

The boyfriend talked to the police for an hour and told them he hacked the banks because she had said she wouldn't. Then they just walk him out into the corridor and leave him there to have a chat with his girlfriend, no handcuffs, no guards, no parents (presumably very rich possibly powerful parents given the school), no lawyer. As opposed to say, keeping them separate, getting the girl her lawyer, asking some questions, seeing if her story matches up with the boyfriends, anything even remotely close to what police would do in that situation. Actually considering they thought she did it based only on her being whatshisface's one phone call and doing well in highschool computing class the way they acted sounds totally in character.

The most thing about this show that pisses me off is how the fuck does one kill Batman? Like they made it seem easily done. He's not a normal person by any stretch of the means. This is killing me.

The Owls poem is from the comic. It makes sense there but the writing was coherent and believable for the world. Here it seems the writers are taking the “it’s a fantasy world so it doesn’t have to make sense so I can do anything and people have to just accept it like they do a Batman” approach so everything feels superficially crappy.

SOP police procedures is to fingerprint a crime scene. They should have done so for the keyboards in the Batcave. If they were so sure Hacker girl was guilty, any competent officer would have compared her prints against those. But that assumes they are competent, and the plot has some correlation to reality :-)

Imagine had they showed some real stakes & the assassin sliced thru “Robin” thru the door or caught one of the wonder twins by the arm & sliced off the head immediately. Real stakes for our “heroes”…real drama for the viewers, a limiting of plot armor.
