I always enjoy your monthly favorites. I just bought a heating pad at Walmart but was sad they were out of the bigger ones. It came in handy when I got really sick this week with chills and a fever from a leg infection after getting it squished in a car door (parked on an incline so, ow). I will look for those Nutter puffs at my favorite store, Costco. Hope you and your family are healthy and well.❤

I haven't been trying a lot of new things lately for a bunch of boring reasons but I recently had a pumpkin cream cold brew from Starbucks and it was heavenly. I realize they are not very nutrient dense but I splurge on Starbucks maybe 4-5 times per year, so I'm cool with enjoying a treat there when I do hit the drive-thru. For some reason, in Canada, we get the fat-free flavours of Coffee Mate but not the sugar-free versions. I used to pop across the border and stock up on a bunch of things a couple times a year, but that's not something I can or would do right now, of course. Oh, wait, I just thought of one thing. I've been really into chaffles this year but have mostly been making a standard egg cheese version. Recently, I've been playing around by creating my own recipes. One is a garlic parm "breadstick" chaffle with marinara dip and the other is a sweet version using vanilla protein powder. I'm looking forward to playing around some more. I'm thinking about making a pumpkin spice chaffle next week!

Ooo, yes, I tried the SB pumpkin cream cold brew and it was SUPER good! I liked the pumpkinyness of the foam much better than their pumpkin sauce, actually! Ooo, did you end up doing a pumpkin spice chaffle?? IDK why I've never gotten into them as chaffles sound right up my alley, but I never think of them! Probably because I'm such a big meal-prepper/reheater and chaffles seem like the kind of thing you need to make/then eat immediately for best effect.

Oh my goodness! You are a genius! I have had a cat since college...i had been using those hard plastic sturdy carriers. My beloved passed away a few years ago but we adopted a senior cat to replace her. She is more difficult to get into the crate. But thinking about it, it isn't warm and inviting, I wouldn't want to be in it either. Just bought a similar one to yours on Amazon as we are taking her to my moms this weekend while we are on vacation, I do hope she likes it more at least. What a smart idea❤

Hope she likes the new carrier! I saw your trip had to be postponed, but hopefully this new one happens!

I've never heard of those dough bar donuts. I love donuts! I might give them a try even though the carbs are a little high for me. I do like the idea of all that protein in it. I'm curious if you have tried the plain donut by itself without the toppings?

I've had the doughnut plain but wouldn't recommend it! Though if you wanted to make your own low-carb icing with powdered SF sweetener, I think that would work great!

Thanks! You guys tend to get videos when I do my more ~fun~ looks, but I definitely wear more natural makeup (or no makeup with quarantine) more frequently! But I like to use my videos as a reason to play with color :D

Love your lipgloss! I need a bigger heating pad, my cramps have been a nightmare.

Thanks! It's this Nars Orgasm lipgloss that I've had for YEARS and that I'm pretty sure has gone off but I love it too much to part with it... Haha, I should probably just buy a new one, but I'm betting the formula has changed so I've been dragging my feet. I really like this heating pad if you're looking for a new one!

I’m SUPER surprised of the processed food consumption. When I think about what I was eating that lead me to having my VSG, processed foods was at the top of my eliminate list. Good luck with your plastics!

I'm SUPER surprised that you felt this was an appropriate comment to leave. Food shaming isn't ever okay, and if you've been watching my channel at all recently you'll know that I'm unwilling to live a life where I am heavily restricting or living in fear of ANY food--both behaviors have been shown to contribute to weight gain, bingeing, and poor mental health over the long term.

Grace Gets Gastric Interesting. I would hardly call it food shaming, or even constructive criticism. It was clearly observational, especially when you openly share about your weight regain. Knock yourself out Grace!

I am surprised that you would be so rude as to comment about someone else’s food preferences. All food has some level of processing, but it is totally inappropriate to make such a comment about what someone else eats. Even if you grow the food yourself, you wash it, trim it, etc. There is no such thing as clean eating because there is no standard definition. Besides, some people live on certain foods that you might find processed or unhealthy, and they may be healthier than you. Our community should be supportive. Lots of people do things I don’t care for, but I take what I find useful and leave the rest. You don’t have to watch anything you disagree with. I did gallon challenges in my early post surgery life, which I now know can be dangerous, but I didn’t tell anyone else to do it. Keto makes me so sick that my doctor said never again, but it works for some people. Everyone has to find what works for them individually, and it must be sustainable for them, or it is a waste of time. Also, hormones have more to do with the differences in our eating before and after bariatric surgery than processed food. There is no evidence based research that supports claims about processed food where all individuals are concerned. There is merely correlation, conjecture, and biased reporting.

These foods would only sustain my sweet tooth and lead me to regain, regardless of their macros.
@GraceGetsGastric
@GraceGetsGastric 4 года назад
That's unfortunate. It seems like something that might be worth working on with a therapist or nutritionist. I'm personally unwilling to live my entire life in fear of food, particularly as restriction of that sort has been proven again and again to lead to bingeing and weight gain.
@joannegodwin5238
@joannegodwin5238 4 года назад
@@GraceGetsGastric I respect your goals and I understand how a restriction mentality can cause bingeing, so I get where you're coming from. But *for me* these foods are the wrong path to go down and I’m better off simply avoiding them. No therapist needed. It’s not fear, it’s me being realistic. If I could eat foods like this in moderation, I wouldn’t have needed surgery. I’m five-years post-op and I can honestly say that I have learned to prefer whole foods and I no longer see it as restriction to avoid processed foods. But it took a while to get there.

Everyone is different; they work for Grace, so that is what matters on her channel.
