Love his quote about Jacob - 'He has his critics but I'm not one of them'. Impeccable character - great that he's back at his best with another US record.

There are a lot of 'bests' across many sports, and many countries. Not many of them act & speak like Jakob and I think that's the criticism. He hasn't had sustained championship results to justify it yet.

Man, what an articulate guy. I hope he gets a medal in Paris, he looks like a very nice guy

“We ran a few 60s in there with a few laps to go. I think that let us all catch our breath a little bit.” Holy shit man.

I’ve never heard him talk, but after listening, I’ve become a fan. Very classy!! Especially to answer questions about Jakob half the interview.

The fact they casually talk about WORLD records is unbelievable to me.

That particular record was Mondo in the pole vault. Everyone knows he can break the record by A LOT but he chooses to break it by 1cm every once in awhile just to get the most out of world record bonuses. It’s clever on his part but it’s a little less exciting because of it. He is a few classes above anyone else doing that event and we’ve become jaded seeing him be amazing for awhile now. It’s just expected

Great interview and a very honest interview. Had he been healthy he would have gotten his first world championship level in the 5k. Bronze definitely!

i think he's right about the worlds/olympics being too strung out. They should make them much shorter and run just finals.

...Such a sympathetic likeable guy. Fun if he beats the Vikings next year. Their cockiness is a bit over the top imho 😎
@canuckowl
@canuckowl 9 месяцев назад
The Viking brand of cockiness is pretty mild compared to someone like Noah Lyles who runs down the track thumping his chest before the race has even started.

@@canuckowlLyles isn’t a poor sport. Listen to his interviews. On the track, he is being showy for entertainment purposes. Bolt did much the same. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it doesn’t mean they don’t respect the other competitors. Getting a pass has nothing to do with being an American.
