In the planned, official program for Diamond League Eugene it should be 5000m, which Jakob only ran in WC, and therefore wasn't formally qualified for. The rules says that if you are not qualified for a race, but get in on some kind of wild card, you can't win the prize money. So no, he didn't do it for the prize money but for the history books. I'm pretty sure the reason they changed it from 5000m to 3000m was that it fitted Jakobs distance schedule best. His manager denies Jakob demanded it, but the organizers wanted Jakob so much at the start line, so ... Unfair to the other athletes ...? Of course, and understandably not everybody was happy about it ...
that's the 2nd race that Yomif has been in this season (Oslo) that has come down to one, one hundredth separation, this time it wasn't to be the victory, but what a battle!! How does Jakob run 3k in 7:23 after a mile in 3:43, 24 hours earlier.....the guy's ability is beyond belief!!

Мировой на 3000м ему был гарантирован, но он, зачем то, впустую, потратил силы на миле, где его шансы изначально были сомнительны. Судите сами, по ходу бега на 2 мили , он пробежал последние 3000м за 721, а исходя из его его личного рекорда на 1500м ( 327.14) он должен был показать 343.71 на миле( результат на 1500м умножить на 1.08) именно этот результат я ему и прогнозировал за день до старта. А на 3000м не потрать он силы на 1 миле он пробежал бы за 718.5-719( исходя из его рекорда на 2 мили, кстати, вы не знаете зачем он их бежал?На 2 мили фиксируются только мировые достижения)

Warholm is not arrogant! Jakob can appear arrogant, but he’s a really great guy. They both are. But being some of the worlds best in their sports, you’re gonna have to be at least confident
