Grant Hill - Old Man, Young Legs (Forceful Finisher)

Grant Hill is one of the top players that make you go "what if..." but his career went down the way it did, so the world was greatly deprived of a true talent. Tons of videos are of Grant's younger days, but as a Suns/Nash fan, I remember his later days more fondly than most.
The 2010 playoffs saw him matching up against Nic Batum & Brandon Roy, then Parker, George Hill & Ginobili the next series, then having to check Kobe, really showed how durable and versatile he was, even in the twilight of his career.
Anyway, here's a video of him showing off his young legs (relative of course to how old he was). Please forgive the quality of the video, it's hard to find clips out there, but I made do with what I could get. That being said, enjoy some of Grant Hill's best plays in Phoenix.

2010 Phoenix team was legit. I miss this team.

My god, he is the true definition of pure atheletic talent and perseverance. Even at 36, he was still soaring in the sky and giving posters. Beast!!! and it seems like age didn't really affect his game that much.

yes not only dunks but also some great blocks. he didn't do it a lot like his days in the pistons but yes people should give him a credit - due to his age and of course due to his injuries

Despite the injury(s) holding his career back...Grant was proof you take great care of yourself your game will age gracefully...He was also a modest humble dude so he was self aware enough to modify his game instead of letting his ego get in the way..That was a great interview with the legend John Thompson btw I remember watching it live..

he really gave me chills, he deserved to be a champion.

Man, Grant Hill and Steven Nash winning a championship together would have been the stuff of memories. Pheonix Suns with Nash and Hill, Utah Jazz with Malone and Stockton, should have won at least one championship. Too bad Grant Hill was injured back in the Pistons days or else he would have been a healthy 30+ NBA player.

Eh Hill and Jason Kidd would have been soo much better together. I woulda liked to seen them win a championship together. If only Hill joined the 2011 Mavs.

Grant Hill: the LeBron James Prototype. I know that sounds disrespectful, but it’s not meant to be; Grant Hill was well known as a player who was pretty damn good at everything, and he had size and wild athleticism- even in this compilation, after all the injuries, he still had some lift in those legs. You can only imagine how great he would’ve been if he never got hurt.

it's sad that Grant didn't get a ring, he was "the crossover" before A.I, if not for the injuries he could have been the jordan 2.0, he was a pippen and lebron during the piston days, too bad injuries took over.

Yeah he had the skills, the athleticism and decision making abilities that most superstars do not have a balanced combination of all three. Also he personifies class so I think he would of been better then Jordan in his own right.

That's great he got a 3rd chance to really comeback and play the game he love despite him being humbled with multiple reoccurring injuries, he was like the Fresh Prince of the NBA in his prime or a Next level Pippen

BlasiusKarachus I actually had the Fila Grant Hill 1's back in 94, I wore them for like 3 yrs almost, thrashing them on outdoor courts, got to say, they were pretty good shoes and had good support. that big ass Fila logo on the arch did prevent ankle roll.
@blasiuskarachus9919
@blasiuskarachus9919 8 лет назад
Nigel Wong I had the Fila Grant Hill 3 and 4. I loved the 3's because of the looks but i think they did last only one season. But they didn't have much ankle support. I saw some on Ebay and was thinking about getting a pair :)

GH33 injuries are because of the wrong design of his shoes. FILA crippled GH33. If he just only use a Reebok or Nike instead of that shitty Fila, GH33 will prevent those injuries.
