Recovery from stroke is a long, slow process. The modern lifestyle of easy and fast does not work in the slow and deliberate world of stroke. Recovery takes years. Your attitude is so important to recovery.
Maybe stroke is not your final chapter? How I recovered from a debilitating stroke. An inspirational, personal journey with methods and attitudes than allowed me to recover from stroke. I follow my personal progress through several episodes. My message is "Don't Give in to Stroke!"
I had a debilitating stroke and I came back despite a not very optimistic prognosis from the medical community. Methods I used to accelerate recovery. When to push yourself and when to ease up. It is important, every day, to accomplish something, no matter how small and trivial, Get back in your life a sense of success!

I used to be fast! but now I learned that speed is not important. I have more time to appreciate the "little" things in life. And you are so right, attitude is the key, although you have to be strong to face the enormous challenge. Thank you for sharing! I wanted to ask you a question: Were you left with 0 movement in your arm and fingers? I am asking because it was my case and although I regain already some movement and strength, by watching you playing the guitar my hint is that you never lost total movement...but I could be wrong, which will give me a great hope. Thanks!

so depressed 18 mo now left hand fingers spasicity can flex arm weak still did ditch cane but crazy walk negative health care providers recent ot did eval said fair prognosis how does she know not going back to her i need to leave california for better med care been alone through all of it no family lost beautiful animals when did ur fingers come back my life too has been very hard losing steam lately been disciplined but depression

To start to be able to move at all, about two months of work. Progressively, after 20 years, I am probably at 70 %.You can can see how I did with episode 6 if you are interested. I wish you the best recovery possible!
