My eight year old son passed away this past summer while on vacation. I believe he suffered a brain hemorrhage and choked in route to the hospital. He was the most amazing kid in the world. I miss him every single day. So.. to honor him his father and I decided to get married on his birthday. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian flooded the hotel and our wedding had to be canceled but we decided that the date was more important then the location so we got married in our living room. 10/03 hopefully we can have a redo with family and friends. ❤

I was in tears watching this. Everyone who made this possible for this grieving mother ... I mean this was one of the most touching moments I've seen on any of the bridal shows out together, hands down ... and I've watched plenty of 'em, let me tell you. 😁 My heart goes out to all the parents who lose a child ... it's unnatural and heartbreaking and how nice you were able to out a smile on her face ... and make her feel it's okay to happy. Lake is in a better place and maybe he was so special to God that He wanted him now.

Look at those photos and you will see a very special child with bright and kind eyes. I just cannot imagine what it felt like for his family to lose him. May they still be able to experience happiness in their life.

I lost my Dad 23-01-21. The grief is killing me until this day. I can't imagine how a mother feels loosing a child.❤❤

Y'all made me ugly cry. 😭 This was beautiful and so powerful. To see her family support her this way and honor their beautiful boy was amazing. 🥰 It really gives me hope to see people still care about others. I know this was not recent but it's always good to have reminders that there is kindness out there. Monty and Lori, you two definitely made a world of difference in this bride's life. ❤️

These are my favorite Say Yes moments to watch. There is true joy for these women in the midst of pain and suffering and that is more magical than any typical bridal moment. What a special lady and family. The love they have for eachother is so palpable.

You can see how hard her family & loved ones are fighting to help her move forward. It must be so hard, because how do you get over the unfairness of a little boy who only gets 9 years, when so many of us get 70 or 80. I love that they're continuing to include Lake, to continue to love him & feel his presence. So sad, but so moving to see how a loving family copes with loss. This family is very generous to share their story with us.

As a bereaved mother I really understand the mix of emotions for this bride and her family. I learned that joy and sorrow can sit side by side in our heart. Life can never be the same after losing a child. We have to carry on to honor their memory. That is what they would want because that is how love works.
