I'm not a good pilot in War Thunder but even I have a 57% winrate, 218 kills to 98 deaths in the F-5C. It's such an easy plane to fly if you think about what you're doing
@@that1racer Play it like a missile truck, catch people out of position with your PD radar and aim7s. Try to avoid dogfighting at all costs unless the enemy is in a horrible energy state.
@@D3R3bel the problem is that dog fighting is my favorite thing to do in the game, so I haven’t been using it as much since I have the f-16C. But i like to use the f-4s for tanks and grinding
The 'S' in 'F5-C' stands for skill. For real though this plane single-handedly makes 9.3 - 10.0 borderline unplayable - the sheer number of US wallet warriors means that every match is just an entire enemy team full of these meanwhile there are 9.7s without even flares. It might be Gaijins most profitable store item but it really needs a serious nerf (i.e actually make it historically accurate and ditch the flares)
That br is unplayable if you are a subsonic with no flares. But If you're either very fast like Mig-21s/104S/Mirages/Drakens or you have flares like Harriers, Hunters or Jaguars then you can have fun anyway. And F5Cs don't ruin that br(yeah surely they don't help it either) what really does are all aspect missiles. And still it's not as bad as for br 11.0-11.3 planes getting slaughtered in constant uptiers

F-5's are good planes haven't flown them yet but they're very good when people know what they're doing. Only problem is the crazy premium spam around this br sometimes teammates are absolute morons but are practically free kills if on the enemy team, but I'd definitely like to fly the F-5E some time!
Grinded f-5e after your vid about it. And it was absolute blast. Constant downtiers and really good platform. Had around 5 kd before took it to mixed. Just wanted to say thanks.
When the sales came for the the F-5c a year ago I picked it up, I admit I was shit at top tier but once I started to learn the plane it became one of my absolute favorites to grind with and helped me learn high tier jets, it even became my first plane to get 9 kills. Then of course, I died to mid map aaa😅.
I got it recently, I like it a lot, but do you have any tips for it? Feels like I’m doing things right, although it’s probably a lot harder on a controller
Is it possible to play this smooth on a ps5? I mean i break my fingers just to look around & fly like that.. must be easier to control on PC😞 i really like this game
I wouldv'e bought the F-5C if not for the fact I have a talisman for the F-5E, the Freedom fighter in game is an absoloute beast in all of its variants.
my instinct if i see an F5 is to run away and stay at least 10km away from him, its the scariest thing a 10.0 flareless delta wing can see, if it sees you turn at all he can just outspeed you get behind you and force a turn with missiles or just follow you around while you need to fly strait to stay a bit faster/slower than him until you can reverse, and it has flares and chaff so cant realy do anything about it with missiles if they have eyes, if you try to strafe it its possible for him to outspeed you. the mig 21 is about as scary bc R30's you can get one to miss but not the second one. the IIICJ experience basicly, i bet the nesher is even worse off with no redar missiles in addition to the no flares. whenever i see the f5 or mig21 i just imagine the goofy running sound effect while going to shoot a pulse redar missile at a harier with chaff that forgets that redar missiles exist.

F5C all the way. A10 relies too much on team. You're not gonna get to ground pound or bomb much if your team gets clapped, also it sucks ass in dogfights. It's mostly a free kill for even slightly competent player.
I inlocked the f5e last week and put a talisman on it and its honestly the most fun I've ever had in high tier planes. I would say I'm a pretty average jet player but by using what ive learned from watching you, general lee, jaek and seeker head I regularly get aces including one 9 kill game (somehow i still lost 😭)
Haven't touched this thing since I got my full american tech tree (bombers don't count) (and it was november 2022). It really helped me a lot, but since I'm flying other planes against it, I'm no longer capable of feeling any other emotions but pure scorn. I hate F-5C players so much it's impossible to describe. I understand that they've got no choice tho as the title is pretty correct 😫
Hey Joob, as a newer player and still very bad with planes, knowing where to look seems to be like half the battle. I always end up dying cause I'm checking my speed and get a missile up exhaust. I was wondering if you'd be willing to play with an eye tracker.

The crusaders are gods of death with those long range aim9d/c's. "attention payers" are at an all time low especially since you can lob them from 4km out
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love the F-5C, but I think gaijin did it a disservice by making it a pack premium. They made it too accessible to new players, and it is a high learning curve.
F4s are a brick and you honestly don’t need to worry about having radar missives at all, just stay fast in this thing and it’s fine. Also BR for BR it’s a lot better.
Im fucking sick of playing this plane. I'm not bad at it, I'm average with it with a 2:1 kd, but it's just incredibly boring to play it to me Worst part is the premium bonuses; I either play the F-5C, have 0 fun but make a lot of RP, or play a plane I actually want to play and get absolute jackshit RP because premium bonuses op.
F4j / s is pure pain to play, i am constantly fighting f16c and Mig29Smt. Hard to score a kill because you are also competing with allies for it, they theoretically have better missiles and maneuverability
it’s good when committed a turn fight in a team game, but the speed is slower than the mig21, but better at energy retention. Turn in the right time and help out the team is the key of winning
It's an amazing aircraft I know but seeing it clog up the entire br it sits at is infuriating, seeing half the match be F-5C's. Either way free food for those who don't know how to fly it. You should try a game with the T-2 sometime in the future but nobody ever plays it (for good reason lol) Take it easy mate cheers
46% win rate, but all due to half of the time American teams are ass, other times we ball out, but a good kill to death ratio in the F-5C, no cap shits godly asf above mach 0.8. Played this plane way before American Teams faced each other, it was like America and then probably some minor nation like Japan vs all, still like that today.
