He's "a drunk soccer coach, hanging out in Mexico without a peso to my name", yet somehow lives in a multi-million dollar beachfront home with a pool. Gotta love the movies!
@@thisandthat8686the point is having a character like that living in a place like that is unrealistic storytelling. Right off the bat makes the story less believable. And this is not an isolated thing filmmakers do this all the time and it’s a sign of a sub par director usually
@@Amanda-ee8oh I think you seem more invested in it than I am, so I’ll default to you. Thank you for the explanation though. Can you give some examples?
I live in the Philippines, and there are quite a few down-on-their-luck American guys like the character played by Zahn who live in similar circumstances here in the islands. Even vlog about it.
We see that type of living here in Guatemala. Such as in the lake Atitlan. Gringos are living happily in pretty houses by the shore, eating cheap organic food, doing a lot of activities, etc. For me seeing that is not unrealistic. They might be “broke” for the American US standard but not for the Latino standard.
It's like watching a movie set in Hawaii. The characters always live in the most beautiful homes on the most beautiful locations on the beach, yet don't work and just surf all day.
Are you kidding? There are MANY other movies about that, recently as well. Also, he's not really her father, he bailed on her and didn't even recognise her. This is just yet another unrealistic movie about ''transformation'' of a grown man who spent his whole life not caring about his kid. Primitive and cringe. But sure, you'll gonna ignore all that crap because ''father'' (even though there are many better movies about that, again).
@@mustavogaia2655 Then, you sir, have very good (and consistently underrated) taste. She was the best part of those dreadful Halloween sequels. The one she isn’t in is almost unwatchable- They should have capped those at the first one.
@@mustavogaia2655 And such range! She plays so many different characters on Archer. Cheryl, Carol, Cristal, Carina, Cherlene… The list goes on. Seriously though, the fact that she’s never gotten any Oscar buzz (even in The Descendants) is bullshit. A Best Supporting Actress Oscar would sum up her career hilariously (and accurately, because she can carry a movie on her shoulders with only a few scenes).
If he’s coaching in Mexico, then he a FUTBOL coach. Because futbol is life. And how he not got a his to his name yet owns in a huge multi-storey house with fancy indoor staircase. Brrr.
It looks like Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca. Don't know for sure, but it's supposed to be like the 3rd best beach in the world for surfing. People from all over the world live there.
Sayulita and San Francisco in the state of Nayarit. But the name of the town they used in the movie is "lo de marcos" although they didn't filmed there.
I will never understand trailers that feel the need to show the entire plot to drive the viewer to watch it! Like I JUST LITERALLY WATCHED IT and it was fine! Enjoy flopping.
Soccer players make ton of money of course they can have a house like that. I don't see how is hard to believe. Even if he played in mexican league he would have made millions.. obviously the mom was hating saying he was broke... Anyways good movie.
Love how they are coming out with more movies about fathers. I get so tired of always seeing the same crap narrative of mothers and daughters when most mothers are baby momma level and are not at all mothers.
''He didn't give up on you'' - uhmmmm, yes he did, when he bailed on her and her Mom. ''You didn't make me feel bad when I came in the middle of your life''- uhhmmm, he's your FATHER afterall. WTF does this show, a teenage girl ''rescuing'' her deadbit alcoholic Dad while leaving Mom who raised her behind? Cringe.
I don't know why Americans been doing a lof of movies related to Mexico recently, like in the past few years. Are they running out of ideas? Or exploiting the mexican culture? Idk if that's a good thing or bad.
It could have easily been a Mexican-American who feels disconnected to her culture, and goes and stumbles across her father and build the relationship between both. But you know, Hollywood :/
It's going to be pay day one day. Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature he will reap distruction. The one who sows to please the spirit, from the spirit he will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7,8 Please believe in Jesus and repent.
People relax, last time was in Central America I almost bought a seven room motel with a separate house for ten grand American, three blocks from the beach. It can be done, easily.
