I just hope you guys make a Rupes Nano competitor with this much thought. I’d buy it in an instant. Someone really needs to come out with a proper alternative for that overpriced thing.

Good thing I never got to order a G6! I will be ordering the G9 since it has more power and better ergonomics. I would think with the additional power, the 6"pads should perform like the 5" used to on the smaller motored G6?
@GriotsGarage
@GriotsGarage 5 лет назад
Correct, the additional power will translate into more correcting ability. The increase in orbit size from 8 to 9mm will also provide improved paint correcting ability, while maintaining the ability to evenly apply polymers and waxes. Lastly, as before you can change out to a 5" backing plate and pad system should that be a preference.

3 months in, and I’m on my 5th power cord replacement, machine is solid and works awesome, just hate that the cords go out so fast, called it in again and the rep told me this machine was not designed to be used daily only as a weekend hobby tool, and unfortunately I’m unable to get back to the GG6 which was my work horse.

@@GriotsGarage I'd go out and buy one now, but..... with that little teaser at the end, we all know what's coming... a new boss line incorporating all these new features and maybe more.... so get on it griots!!! I already have a buyer for my G21... oh, and if whatever that product is isnt already in production... an orbit adjustment feature would be kinda cool... oh, and some way to put a 3 or even 2 inch backing plate on the thing would also be pretty snazzy too :)

What’s the difference this G9 and the boss ?
@dragonsystems5973
@dragonsystems5973 5 лет назад
The current boss units have 15 and 21mm orbits, this has 9mm, this also has a more powerful motor, measured by wattage, but I dont know how it works out under real usage conditions. I bet for most normal users users the G9 will be a better all around tool

Next generation of orbital will be app-controlled and it polishes you’re car by itself lol. Just kidding. I got the generation 3 one from Autozone and I’m still learning how to use it. I’ve started my detailing business and now I’m interested in the long throw orbitals

I currently have the BOSS G15. But my old PC7424 finally died after 10 years of use. I used it with a 3" backing plate for tight areas. So I'm considering either buying another 7424XP or a GG 3" orbital (leaning more towards another 7424XP since it will double as a 6" & 3"). I dont see any info about the new G9 incorporating a 3" backing plate....is there one available? Will the 3" backing plate I have for my 7424XP work with the G9? Another question....are there plans for a 3" backing plate for the G15?
@GriotsGarage
@GriotsGarage 5 лет назад
The only backing plates available for the G9 are the 6" and 5" backing plates. It would not be recommended to try and adapt a 3" backing plate to the G9 due to the diameter of the cooling shroud. Stay tuned for any future updates on 3" solutions.

@@GriotsGarage I would love to see a purpose built professional grade 3 inch solution. I have the griots 3 inch, it is a great versatile tool, I'm not knocking it, it was cheap and technically it does its job, but obviously when you look at the price, and hold it in your hand, it isnt a professional grade tool, assuming a quality to match the price, I'd be willing to spend maybe $275-$300 on perhaps a BOSS 3in with a 2 inch backplate option an perhaps the ability to use a 5 and 6 as well for when you need the size but not the power.

Assuming that the model implies this is a 2000 watt generator - it would handle running the G9. The G9 has a 1000-watt, 8.5 amp motor.

All this engineering, and it’s only $150? The only way you can pull that off is with Chinese labor. I’d be happy to spend more and see an American flag on the label.
