You are definitely someone i would regard as a real shoe collector and very knowledgeable. After watching a great many of your videos i have come to realize just how miniscule my own shoe collection is...in fact i can't even call it a collection! 🤣🤣

Honestly I find that leather quality doesn't really improve past tier 3 and tier 2. The only improvements are in clicking sometimes and finishing (loose stitching, panel lining up, welt finishing, etc.). It's up to the buyer to decide whether the last 5% is worth the price increase.

Great video as always. Which 3 brands out of the tier 3 would you say are your favourite? In what order and why. Taking leather quality of the upper and the lining, construction and the last shape into account.

Does any of those clip on microphones work? I've seen it work on some RU-vidrs. Maybe it can help out a bit instead of a big static one on the table so that you can move while talking.

Agree about Mezlan and exotics. I actually snagged a pair of crocodile monk strap from Nordstrom rack for like $300 a couple years ago. I do have a dumb question. Is heel slip when your heel slides up and down in the shoe? Or is is forward and back?? I ask because I my heels do move up and down in some shoes, more so in loafers. But when I had a very tight shoes that had 0 movement in the heel it was very uncomfortable.

Yes. Heel slip is up and down. I’ve been told by a reputable shoe maker that you do have to make the front a little tight to hold the foot to prevent this. You either tolerate the tightness or the shoe softens. And you tolerate that. It makes sense though. There is nothing to hold your foot. Monks and high derbies are the same. The vamp holds your foot in place.
