Hey there, JP. FYI, Marty Robbins' guitar was actually a tad smaller than the Standard Single-O Martin. His little Martin was the "5-18 model" that became his trademark. It is also known by its proper name, the "Terz Guitar". A Terz is a small guitar tuned up a minor third higher than normal tuning, so the open strings are G-C-F-A#-D-G, however, it can also be played in normal tuning. The neck is shorter, in the case of the Martin 5-18 the neck has a 21.4” scale, compared to the Martin Single-O, which is 24.9". The body is also smaller than a full size Parlour. The word Terz is German for third.

Hey JP - have you ever owned or played a Yamaha FG 365S? I couldn't find any reference in the catalogues but this model is absolutely killer diller, especially in her jackboots! Love to see you review this awesome superior axe!! I stupidly traded it for an electric when I was 15 and seriously regretted it as soon as I walked out of the shop!!? I'm saving to buy one as these awesome guitars are going up in value each year and right bow I'm looking at about $1,500 as more and more people are learning! There's a SHITLOAD of very high quality axes that don't bust the bank out there. Do a little scouring around and you'll find on at a rate you can handle. Great Channel!! Love that guitar! Yeah man! Here is question on the neck profile ... when using my thumb on the E string. Some guitar necks are friendlier than others for that .... the width of the neck is obviously part of it...but on a 1.75 nut the edges of the neck make the difference. Anybody out there that has a Boucher... would love to hear any comments!

I think my next build will be a parlour . As long as it sounds half as good as that one ......hehe Peace ✌

John, you've said that Robin's guitars intonate perfectly. How does he do that with non-compensated bridges? Curious Gary from Halifax wants to know.

I've got some loud guitars - but my Boucher is almost too loud for playing at night. It's astonishing. That parlour would overpower most dreadnoughts - just with the different tonal quality of a smaller guitar.

What would be the price i wonder

The volume and overall sound doesn't seem to match what I'm seeing.

I guess they call this feeling ‘cognitive dissonance.’ It’s a feeling of ‘otherness,’ or ‘wrongness,’ or discomfort,’ something is ‘off,’ right? What my eyes are seeing doesn’t match what my ears are hearing. If I didn’t already know that Robin was in possession of ‘secret knowledge,’ I wouldn’t believe that wasn’t being run through some modeling software or something. It isn’t supposed to be like that - it isn’t fair to other builders.
