I find it really funny that Ky got all the "He's a nerd who just wants to be Sol" jokes, when in the lore of this franchise Sol is a massive nerd and is actually scared of Ky
Yeah, canonically Ky beat Sol a lot of time despite he did not get Sin's eyes because he is a genius fighter. Geez. This guy has everything, including Sol's daughter.
bringing this up as a bit of trivia more than a correction, to be clear Sol Badguy's name is a reference to Freddie Mercury's song "Mr. Bad Guy," from the album of the same name. Sol's *real* name is Frederick Bulsara, which is another Freddie Mercury reference (Freddie Mercury's real name was Farrokh Bulsara)
You probably already know this but I think it's fair to specify since gear does have some silly names. Sol Badguy is a nickname, with both "Sol" and "Badguy" having specific lore meanings. Also his actual name is Frederick Bulsara, which is literally just Freddie Mercuries actual name. Guilty Gear is amazing.
Yeah sol was because slayer saw him and described him as radient like the sun and badguy was a title he earned when he kept attacking labs that held gear research
A note on Nagoriyuki, he doesn't need to succeed in the special move, it just needs to start its active frames, even if you get hit during the middle of it.
Also important: To avoid going into his blood rage state, you can manage your blood gauge by doing Nagoriyuki's command grab which resets your meter. So you can chain high damage special moves as long as your can weave in a command grab in so that you can avoid unnecessary health loss.
While Ky may be easy on the eyes, he comes with a lot of baggage, notably his wife and kid, who are 8 and 5 years old respectively. Also Sol Badguy, who is close to 200 years old, is his father-in-law, so do with that what you will
@@masquerabe6692 they got together before the kid, who is literally named “Sin”, was born, so you do the math there. Also she has a pair of wings that are each sentient beings, so it’s more of a polycule I guess?
@masquerabe6692 Ky: Officer wait, she is a Gear! They age at triple the speed of humans! Officer: A Gear?! You mean those artificial life forms that humans have been at war with for the last 100 years? Ky: damn it
The interesting thing about Chipp is he's not *really* a ninja. I mean he kind of is. But mostly he's a weeb who only half-understands Japanese, hence why he yells random Japanese words when fighting
It's really funny storywise, that Sol Badguy is the biggest nerd and Ky Kiske one of the most brutal and competent soldier there is (Sol is even somewhat scared of Ky when Ky drops the his chivalry).
0:43 fun fact: his real is actually frederick bulsara, a reference to freddy mercury, after shit hit the fan he decided to change his name to sol, and if i remember right, people called him "badguy" which became part of his identity
Fun fact: Sol is nearly 200 years old, while Baiken is about 100+ years old, give or take, if we follow her lore. Anji's not that much younger than Baiken, so assume he could be between 70-90 years old.
Wondering where you found this information. Baiken is Japanese yes, but one of the Japanese refugees. It's doubtful that she was alive during that time. you could argue that she's using Ki to keep herself looking younger, but that doesn't explain why her chest grew so much larger in between games, and the fact that even masters of Ki die at relatively young ages, Kliff Undersn was a Ki Master, and you can tell by all his achievements from the Holy War, but he died at the age of 71. it is true that Anji is around the same age as Baiken, since they met each other in the colonies, but neither of them have ever been to their homeland most likely, as Anji's reaction upon meeting a real Samurai(Nagoriyuki) is one of joy and excitement, geeking out with Chipp about getting him to join their team. with all this information, we can assume she is from surviving Japanese lineage, who was born within the last 40 years.
I love this sm the roasts are always on point. Your jokes hit constantly and let's just appreciate that Danny has to do these imputs himself for the visuals.
Once all the dlc chrs are finished, can you make a part two of this? The video literally made me wanna learn Nagoriyuki, and im climbing up the floors with him
Railing on each of the characters wasn't really my thing but honestly the creativity in your roasts had me watching just to see what wild deep cut you'd make that I didn't notice til you pointed it out next. By the end of the video, I was having a great time. Thanks for the laughs!
Bandit Bringer is actually very straightforward; Sol is the Bandit, and because Bandit Bringer is a forward advancing air move, when used it Brings the Bandit to your opponent's location
Sol actually turns into a dragon! In (im pretty sure) all of the other games he has a super called dragon install where he turns into that form but as a transformation that lasts instead of just a command grab
I could possibly help you understand the basics of Nago, I recently switched to him as my main. I quite like him, and agree with you statement that he is cool.
