2:23 her holding onto the bed as it gets lifted away by aliens is hilarious. they put so much effort into making the interactions and attacks unique against the more non-conforming opponents.
The bed is so interesting, it's still unclear if it's Romeo (the original bedman) controlling it or just the programming of the bed doing crazy stuff, my theory is that Romeo is trying to control the bed but struggling with the original program, the program was if Romeo died to seek the strongest opponent and be destroyed, but now that Delilah is around maybe Romeo from the afterlife is trying to make the bed follow her instead
"I'm older then you are" Had to think on that for a second, thinking she might be supernatural and 100ds of years old, before I realized Sin is half Gear, so he just grew up super fast and is likely only a few years old in human terms.
Faust probably is like "guess I'll have to put the bed on a hammock. Not the weirdest and craziest shift of my life, but still weird" as he rushes with the wheelchair
It was thanks to this ending that I got to know that bedmans name is Romeo, and also that Delilah and Romeo are references to Freddie Mercury's cats. Daisuke is a genius!
(To the tune of "Hey There Delilah) Hey there Delilah What's it like being so sleepy? Your brother may be dead But at least his bed is quite comfy Just for you Look at all the people that it slew To protect you
I like that Ram brings up Bedman teaching her uniqueness. That was such a huge part of both characters. Ram learning to be herself and Bedman not being a complete asshole.
This asshole's entire motivation was to save his sister. He remebered every single petson that died due to his shenanigans, so that upon comleting his quest, he can recreate them perfectly from his ubelivably strong memory. But he was fooled by the Universal Will sadly.
"Why did you build teeth into your bed?" "Of course a lower intelligence lifeform such as yourself would not be able to understand the basic usage of this construct and why I have decided to put seemingly pointless features into it. As my superior intelligence requires me to be asleep for long periods of time, it means I have to rely on this bed for quite a few things, battle not withstanding. To simplify it for you, I add things that may or may not be needed in the future, and these teeth may prove useful one day."
We STAN Delilah!!! Seriously, her innocence coupled with her deadpan expressions and her simple yet unique features (bolted shoulders, arrow thingy on hair, dark eyebags) make her really stand out. What a great character!
You missed at least 2 outros fyi. Winning against Baiken can also have Delilah say something about getting donuts for dinner, and winning against Chaos can lead to her saying she won't acknowledge him.
3:25 I find it so interesting how these developers use the game medium in cinematics, however briefly. The actual cutscene work for this expansion was questionable but it's weirdly exhilarating watching the characters fight each other using the actual in-game models. There's impact and coordination, taking advantage of the actual movesets and the intense detail put into their animation. It reminds me of old-school fan animations but polished immensely. I would probably be perfectly fine with seeing more of this style of sequence used for the cutscenes in the future, too.
In case you are curious or don't know, it's because they have 4 dudes animating the story modes, so it just ends up being pretty... jank. While I imagine that in battle animation is a FAR greater focus so that's why it's so clean.
Oh hell yeah definitely. Considering how she's not the focus character for this DLC but she still managed to VA this well and capture the hearts and minds of many is a Testament (pun intended) to Jessica DiCicco's voice work.
During the in-game cutscenes; the Bedman? When it ceases fighting by Delilah; it has an actual expression of sadness or depression that it was forced to stop or that it made her worried about it. So I think it supports the idea of Bedman/Romeo on the edge of passing on to the great beyond yet his sole task of protecting his sister is far greater than the machine programming that it melds too well with his intention of self-destruction but held back by his need to keep his sister safe that both man's soul & machine willingfully wishes for existence to end yet countered by Delilah's wish to keep it around longer as well as his love for her.
The bed and Ramlethal's clashing attacks reminds me of those cool special intros from Blazblue and the older Guilty Gears. Wish they would make more of those.
Well, the fact the Bed is heavily damaged, it kinda gives her an advantage Baiken must also have been caucious about the fight, she had walked lonely as a samurai and doesen't trust that the bed is on her side entirely Either that Or Ramlethal in Strive is just built different
The average Guilty Gear fighter getting hit by Faust's Overdrive 2: *Incomprehensible pain from shin-shattering seat being pushed by a surgeon* Bedman? getting hit by Faust's Overdrive 2: "MY FUCKING HAND!!"
I think Romeo is still in there since in the scenes where faust hits his shins with a wheelchair you can hear his voice being surprised. Not only that, but the machine somehow has teeth and another eye hole thing, so I wonder if the bed is as mechanical as we think or it's uh..... it's a living organism refused the gift of death.
She actually has a lot more interactions. I’m actually very surprised with how many she has. She has a few more different ones with Baiken, against Happy Chaos (Even the Overdrive lines change), May, Faust, and more.
@@EddyBinxEB I feel like she does actually have some lines against Chaos. Ones much harsher than what she usually says. I haven’t seen the outro where she says “I will never acknowledge an inch of you” said to anyone else but HC.
@@ksbabi Truly! Another one is, "You should've noticed the power difference", I love it. She's also MUCH colder when it's him, during her 2 supers, as opposed to pleading for the bed to stop, lest it explode.
So basically bedman, or Romeo i guess programmed it to protect Delilah but once Delilah found home with baiken it no longer needed to be there for her, she was found and safe. And since its job had been done it started its road for self destruction. Did bedman program it to take command from Delilah or is some part of Romeo still in there. So many questions and the answers might just lead more questions. Ughhh. Daisukes lucky i love Bedman/Romeo so much (delilah too but *quite* as much) Bedman is probably one of my favorite characters of all time tbh
I love the insane "weird dog" energy Bed has I do feel bad for Delilah nearly losing the last piece of her brother she has left As tragic as it is Delilah and Bed relationship is cute. Just a little girl and her brother's murder mattress
I've found this serie just now, I've gotta say something, even tho I know many will be upset, The main story is freacking to hard for me to get, but DAMN if delialah and bedman are such good characters! The whole baiken gang is actualy well WELL written, A story of revenge and accepting, and delialah is just the bow that sells everything
Delilah and Sin are Polar Opposites, even with songs While Sin is a Bop a Fun and Crazy Fun with his theme, Bedman is Hyper Depressing and it is insane how off it feels to listen to.
Is it possible that the screws she wears were originally the eyes of the Bedframe because I went back to look at differences & it had screws instead of eye holes before.
I guess so. It caught me so off guard hearing it because for a while I wondered if his actual name was bedman or something else, and then eventually just came to accept it was bedman. Then we get this and I just did not think it would be Romeo of all names lmao but I kind of dig it
Bedman was always a fake name, a ton of the siblings' backstory is left unexplained. As for why it's Romeo, Freddy Mercury apparently had cats named Romeo and Delilah.
