If anybody wants to learn to play those hip Jazz chords there are two great resources. The late great Chuck Wayne wrote two books one on scales and the other on chords. They will improve your knowledge of the fingerboard and show you a lot of cool stuff. If you think you don't need it just identfy every C on the neck and then see if you can play a C chord using each one. The other great resource is Mickey Baker's immortal "Complete Course in Jazz Guitar". But be forewarned. in order to play some of the chords he uses you have to be able to span five frets. It helps if you have 7 fingers on each hand. But seriously, the best thing about the guitar is that it is one of the few instruments that is capable of playing more than one note at a time and some of these incredibly complicated chords will take you to undreamed of realms of harmonic bliss. Give it a try if you think you oughta.

Those weren’t just jazz guitar’s . They were popular on the country scene Merle Travis Hank Thompson and my uncle Aubrey Caldwell. And they all had their name and the fingerboard. Wish I knew what happened to it it was the 56 or 57 blond.

for a guy who doesn't do jazz , you certainly do it well , loved the Charlie Brown song , a lot of those weird ass chords with numbers in them, not my thing either Mark , you handled it well tho. Beautiful guitar , , those PAF's are unbeatable , deep , smooth , silky , clear , crisp , and boomy , major boomy , luv it .
