Since the name of Jack Conte, who happens to be also the alma mater of Scary Pockets and one of the ones to blame for many of the arrangements, so I thought I'll save someone a google search :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Conte
The piano player, I believe Jack Conte, is also a part of Pomplamoose. I thought the exact same thing when watching their mash up cover of sweets dreams and seven nation army. His joy is contagious!
I wish Ryan Lerman (the other guitarist, Scary Pockets regular) would play more solos. He's such a lyrical soloist with a great vocabulary. Such a modest fella.
Simply amazing. Seeing her go from the MJ documentary "This Is It" to auditioning for The Voice KILLED me. She's been a superstar all along. One of the most talented vocalists and musicians of our time.
this song is an all time favorite since i first heard it. it was mad fun watching you nerd out on the guitar, hearing your insights and giddiness about a song i love makes me love it even more
Imagine this guy's life: Having a genius idea and actually do it and succeed. Now he's just jamming with the band and making incredible music without any financial concerns "normal" musicians have...what a dream
Teacher! You are brilliant and brave to work, and solving the mystery of WHAT IS! the ScaryPockets artistry! And, YES! the keyboard, Joe Conte, passion and love for this unique arrangement, and massive talent of the impeccable Ms. Hill is contagious!!! Thank you for the lesson.🤩🤗💃
Thanks for the groove Mike! Scary Pockets doing some work! New to them. So soulful. I'm a guitarist also. So this just makes me want to do that slow, funky groove thing all day! Young musicians should take note. This is how it is done! I grew up with music like this every day in my home. Got to rub elbows with a lot of great musicians that played my home town of Youngstown, Ohio. A lot of aspiring musicians want to "shred" on everything they do. Even vocally. My advice is to "slow" down and feel the music.Catch the vibe and ride it out. Scary Pockets did the damn thang! I will be looking at them a lot! Thanks Mike for your chanel and your appreciation of great music.
I’ve been a big Judith Hill fan since she was on season four of The Voice (U.S.) which she should have won! At the time I didn’t know she toured with Michael Jackson before that! She has since won a Grammy! What a voice! You should hear her funk cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”! Jack Conte plays keys!
Best reaction videos on RU-vid.....hell, on the INTERNET! Your videos are so much fun to experience! I always have a great time watching you watch and react to various videos on RU-vid! Love it! Best so far was your reaction to Zomby Woof with Dweezil and gang doing a magnificent job of playing one of Frank's most difficult pieces! I'm a HUGE Zappa fan, and seeing your reaction was priceless.....just like all of your videos! Unscripted and natural! Always brings a smile to my face!
I love your channel bro. Thanks for all your hard work and sacrifice. I'm not a member but I fully support your youtube with views, likes, comments etc. Your as honest and transparent as any creator on yt
Oh man that live stream with your buddy the other day was terrific! This channel is just outrageous! Learning a lot and finding some great artists. Thanks!
Fantastic breakdown yet again👍 Keep going man I will be forever grateful for you introducing me to Snarky Puppy. Lingus is still my favourite you have ever done your joy is just infectious 😎👍
Scary Pockets has got me through the pandemic (along with Hindley Street Country Club) - listen to Scary's arrangements for Roxanne and Gimme Shelter (Ruth leaves everything in the studio, she is spent on the final note and goes for the 2 octave Merry Clayton moment). - Great tutorial here. Note the Guild M-75 Bluesbird - Scary P
First time viewer: I don't play guitar or anything else, can't sing, don't know the difference between a flat and a sharp ... but you are a great communicator and I followed it all the way ... thank you! Plus, I'm a Scary Pockets fan, which is what made me click on ... R (Australia)
That was a fabulous cover of this song. Judith's voice is so good. The band is great also. Please check out Josh Radin and Hunter doing a cover of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home To Me" with them. Hunter's voice is to die for.
3:49 Correction - the chord is D7(#9) and (9)! Natural nine - the high e string is in there too. I first heard Sco play this, and I think Prince used it too.
A little trivia that I’m guessing you didn’t know. The keys guy is Jack Conte, he is also the CEO of Patreon. I believe he started it to fund his Scary Pockets channel.
Not exactly. He started it to redefine the business model around independent artists. He started Scary Pockets more recently with his childhood friend Ryan Lerman. Pomplamoose is pretty much managed by his wife Nataly. They have made videos explaining much of this, and Jack is still the nicest fellow who graciously enjoys contributions by all kinds of artists.
One of my faves from Pomplamoose ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6LACHm_xd80.html and hat-tip to Scary Pockets... been following the group for a while.
