My favourite part: Every time you are on the main menu they literally say GUNBRELLA with a badass funny voice. You can literally spam it just by going to options and back to the title. It's a silly little thing but it literally made me laugh because its just so goofy.
1:13 Nice to see someone draw attention to how terrible that "scrolling" selection system is. Unless you can freeze time while scrolling through the options, a game designer can either use that sort of system for items/spells/etc, or actually expect me to use items/spells/etc, but it's one or the other. I much, much MUCH prefer a system that gives each slot a dedicated button combo of some sort.
it comes closest to that yes, i feel the same way. I played through both now and although Gunbrella is definitely a good and fun game it is no Katana Zero :P. Both very similar though.
There are several missteps, but they feel lousy in the context of such a solid movement / core gameplay concept and such great music. When you do a few things too well, the things you only do slightly poorly look really shit in comparison, and that's the case in this game. I wish everything about it was excellent, but sadly only several aspects of it are. It feels like given some more funding or perhaps a more experienced dev team it could have really flowered into something incredible, but as is it's just pretty good. Definitely had a fun time playing it, just got my hopes up a bit too much.
fast paced movement-focused metroidvania. it was super fun but kinda lacking on difficulty, i only died about 2-3 times on some bosses and just plain no hit others, but the exploration is top notch! the enemies are super fun to fight against, especially the ones in the shipping facility! i lived comboing different weapons together like spamming sticky bombs and then rushing someone with saw blades at the same time and i destroy bosses! i also love the dialouge and story to this game! it was perfectly crafted to be funny, yet engaging at the same time!
I hope these developers stick around, this game might be shabby, but the studio clearly has talent. I think that the next game they release, if they release it, will be incredible
Im a fairly inexperienced gamer and am really enjoying this game. It's not super challenging. The mechanics of the umbrella are super fun. Can anyone recommend similar games?
I don’t think this game was made for this reviewer. So much of what makes this experience great is the art style, ambiance, music, sfx, frequently lol writing and INCREDIBLY FUN controls. I’d like to enthusiastically recommend this game to you weirder gamers who like a unique experience and something more artistic. I get the impression that this reviewer didn’t appreciate the parts of this game that are truly outstanding.
That's just how the reviewer generally sounds, both in positive and negative reviews, doesn't make this less of a positive review. Definitely made me check it out.
I stopped playing assassin's Creed as a whole after Origins (unless I count replying black flag when they have it away) so I can't wait for this. The RPG gameplay change just didn't do it for me
This game fucking suck. Apart from nice art and so so controls it's story and dialogue too boring, there is no challenge. Music is pretty good but different stages dont have own themes and givberish voice acting hella annoying doesn't suit dialogue. After getting upgrades you can nobrain spam bosses and simultaneously aiming and dodging doesnt work that well on gamepad. Promising game but essentially bad experience
I personally get more value out of short games. For example, I can beat Super Mario 64 in roughly 4 hours, but it’s so fun the whole way through that I replay it at least once a year.
@@resident_citizen haha I’m just so used to it, I’ve played through it probably 30 times in my lifetime. And that’s just to finish it, I don’t usually 100% complete it either.
