Your introduction explination reminds me of what happened to the Shredder in the original TMNT cartoon. He started out as a serious threat and got somewhat nerfed because the censures demanded the show get more kid friendly. But in the final season, he was blowing up buildings using household chemicals saying "I never bluff".

Every author has their own little headcanon on how WH40K and it's characters function. And GW doesn't do a DAMN THING to correct any of it.

My problem with the girl custodes is they lied and treated people like idiots, and then supported the wokeies when they came in to call everyone evil bigots for not liking the female custodies. Then a smaller part of the fandom just went "step on me harder golden mommies and GW!" (looking at Bricky and his lore destroying channels) and now it's being portrayed like most people were completely fine with it, and that it's fine to insult everyone because some people enjoyed it.

The problem is that Abaddon is used like he's the main villain and not the second in command. Abaddon's presence is underwhelming for his role.

13:03- No, the biggest flaw is that GW doesn't care what their writers write, and if one decided to write that the Emperor exclusively farts rainbows they'd still publish it.

It seems this is all because GW just didn't spread important information in the books around enough.

Abaddon's retcon pissed me off because I actually thought he was a badass despite the losses. Here's why. Every time a Crusade failed, Abaddon retained command. He didn't do this because his soldiers still had faith in him, he did it because he smoked every challenger that came his way. All the centuries between the Black Crusades, Abaddon wasn't resting or licking his wounds, he was re-establishing dominance. If GW wanted to give him the W at long last. What they should've done is detail the road from the 12th Crusade to the 13th. Abaddon at his lowest, beginning to doubt himself, hearing Drak'Nyen mock him as the Dark Gods groom a replacement to kill him. Abaddon remembering why he's here, why he's still fighting, why it means so much to him. Abaddon resolving to push on, cutting down his latest challenger, and recruiting his final Crusade fleet. That's what they should've done. Not this bullshit.

Well the hate can be justified because you can't expect people to like something by shouting on how good it is

That being said, hot take, id argue hes one of the greatest warmasters for the simple fact that he got the various warbands who serve different chaos gods who actively hate each other to work together not once, not twice but 13 times that each timethe imperial forces barely pushed them back because last minute with victory in sight the unity breaks through no fault of abbadon himself. Remember when there isn't a black crusade happening the chaos bands wage war amongst themselves more than anyone else

Honestly, they should 'kill' Abaddon for an edition or two. No rules, no model, no lore. Then have him return as the new big threat, maybe no longer the chosen of chaos but something else. Just my 2 cents

I started an Archaon campaign in Warhammer 3 while watching this, because that goon isn't dependent on at least a dozen retcons in order to look impressive like Failbaddon is.

Personally I think Abaddon needs to loose in a big way or be waysided for a while. Like have Huron Blackheart kick his ass and take over for a while and then build Abaddon up from the start again.

What about the lizard dude with abs? Is Abbadon wanting be Emperor actually lore accurate? You nightlord boys are weird.

I stopped playing Raid when after saving Energy for over a month and buying a $100 pack a year or two ago didn't even get me the last milestone for their mini-event that had the last pieces of the Legendary champion they were releasing. Worst 100 bucks I ever spent, NEVER again. Yeah, her champion wasn't that good either.
