So was everyone busy in the cannon, or did Artorious just really think he could kill Manus with just him and his favorite doggo? Because from what I see here, Gwyn could have saved himself alot of trouble by sending the 4 amigos here to go clean shop.
If i remember correctly the only one who could go into the abbys is the follower of wolf covenant, since only artorias have it he the only one who could fight manus
@@niebieskipatyczak2242 But it is true. It was confirmed by Ornsteins armour info in DS3 (and i guess his own gust appearance in DS2 but we all know how messy DS2 is in entire series cannon)
Ornstein is an inch shorter than artorias but compensates with the head spike crown thing But the two giants are nothing in comparison to the actual giant
And if that would be the real Ornstein and Ciaran's Ai wouldn't be depressed by the death of Artorias (She'd probably fight differently if we thought her some other time)
Artorias woulda been in his prime lorewise but gameplaywise we fight him after he goes down and gets beaten back by the abyss. He woulda been in his prime just before he went down and did that
I'm pretty sure artorias in his "prime" hits for less damage than the buffed up abyssal Artorias, he is pretty much just missing a shield from his left hand and walks slowly..Let's assume that his hits are a bit weaker than in his prime cause he doesn't really look that healthy but still he hits 2 times as hard when he is buffed, and I'm pretty sure the buffed up Artorias alone could kill Manus
"Man, can you imagine if I fought him alone?! Jeez. Hehe... Would've been suicide! Sure glad I asked you, my trusted allies and friends to help me, instead of letting my ego get the better of me, dooming the towns of both oolacile and New Londo to a horrendous fate... Ah man... tsk... that. would. have. been. cray-zee... anywho... guys wanna get thai food?"
@@shavooo "They're fine, thanks. I think my son wants to be a Dragonslayer, too... talking about nothing other than that... Maybe I'll gift him an armor of his own! What about your wife?"
It would be nice if someway if they made a another souls game but more based around the great war or a bit after or prime or late prime of the knights or something to those concept, just for the lore and other things among that.
I think it’s actually Gough who was the leader, but lots of people (in universe) thought it was Ornstein, especially after Gough left. I may be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure that’s the case.
Lore wise though, manus probably would've gotten beaten worse. #1 you'd have Gough actually using his bow far away sniping his ass #2 Artorias and Ornstein together on the front lines would be terrifying to fight #3 Cairan would've been flanking, attacking Manus' ass whenever he was busy fending off Ornstein and Artorias. Sure there might be one or two casualties, but the fact that manus is distracted while Gough snipes his ass is reason enough for victory
Yeah they couldve handled oolacile themselves but for plot reasons and dlc the chosen undead had to do everything. And the main issue with ornstein searchin for the nameless king theory...u know ornstein in anor londo being a illusion bla bla etc :)
Yeah, but lore wise Gough, Ciaran and Ornstein wouldn't have survived the Abyss to get to Manus. Artorias's covenant was the only reason he could even try to take Manus on.
Manus against players: We have Dark Rain, Dark Ring and Dark Shotgun, in addition to wombo-combo. Manus against Four Knights: I'll take you down with my fists!!!
Was thinking the whole time how gentle he was being with them. The fact that he wasn't absolutely spamming dark magic halfway through like he does when *we* fight him made me disappointed.
From my experience he mostly uses his magic when your far away and trying to heal, so since all 4 Knights were constantly on him his AI just decided to put ‘em up.
This'd make an interesting alternate storyline, where Gwyn took the threat of the Abyss more seriously, or one where Artorias wasn't too proud to call on his fellow knights for support. Makes me wonder how a boss fight against an uncorrupted Artorias would be like, in the vein of the Pure Vessel for Hollow Knight.
Ornstein: How did I end up here? Artorias: AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH Ciaran: Quite down honey. Manus: ... Wasn't there another one? Gough: *teleports behind Manus* I hear your thoughts.
0:26 Ornstein: "Alright guys! Let's do this! LEEROY JENKINS!!!" Ciaran: "Oh my God! He just ran in!" Artorias: "Screw this strategy! We're attacking right now and not lose the momentum!" Gough: "IT'S CLOBBERING TIME!"
I can see Ciaran standing in the back of the room with the blank tired face she has gotten from the boys and their only strategy being charge in swords swinging and beat it till it dies done over and over again. Ciaran: If people really knew about the “4 knights of Gwyn” like I do.......
Typicall Gank-Squad Conversation: 1:00-1:10 Atorias:wait guys i need to apply my buff Ornstein:we already killed him Gouth: yea i killed him, you guys helped Ciaran: stolen Ornstein: guy's please we are supposed to be a team Manus(voicechat message): Stop ganking you ***** **** ***** **** Elizabeth in the Background: a normal day in Dark Souls
Manus: "Come to break your arm again Artorias? Or perhaps a leg for good luck, oh what do we have here? Your little gang of friends?" Artorias: "I don't have friends. I got family."
Long ago a undead fought against Artorias the Abysswalker, near the end of the battle when the dark almost fully consumed the brave knight, the undead plunged a amulet into artorias, it was no mere piece of jewelry as it repelled the dark from the brave abyss walker, it was a powerful tool once hidden in oolace but thanks to the strength and skill of the undead they had retrieved it another way then through the arena. After the abyss walker was cleansed from the mad darkness and was healed by the brave undead, he knew that he could not fight alone. So he sent word to Anor Londo, not for a army, but for a man, a man named Orenstien. The undead sought out Kiraan, a assassin and one of the four knights of Gwyn, and finally helped the great giant Goth see again. Together the four knights, reunited, marched on towards the dark that had come crawling from the abyss itself. Manus marched, and the knights marched against him.
Yeah, but Ornstein has gone from Anor Londo hell know where and hell know when, seeking the NK. The one we fighting in Anor Londo actually is an illusion)
Ornstein: HA! Told you guys this would be easy af. Gough: Yeah, it’s not like we’ve killed Archdragons or anything. What did this scrub expect? Ciaran: Artorias, you really lost to this guy? Artorias: IT WAS TO SAVE MY DOG OK?!
I love how, while all 3 other knights just face tank manus, artorias' moveset seems to best counter manus. I mean you can see him jumping over his attacks, rolling through others, while the other 3 are either "me smash, hehehe stabb, or heheheh stabb"
Ciaran: is the King's blade, high dexterity Artorias: uses dark to defeat the dark Ornsteinn: has a dragonslayer spear that uses to catalyze lightning Gough: *bonk*
Imagine it! Imagine it! Artorias, arm broken, wolf kept safe, strides through the abyss to confront manus, the armies of the abyss pressing down upon him when he suddenly hears a voice. "ARTORIAS!! ON YOUR LEFT!!" He looks to his left and sees them arrive, his friends and compatriots, coming to fight with him. "My friends..." he chokes out as they come to his aid, the presence of friends keeping the Abyss from taking him
Gough bodyslamming Manus into oblivion was epic!!! Also It's nice to see the characters scale difference (Cirain is so tiny compared to Artorias and the bois).
I love Artorias' celebratory abyssal roar at the end of round 1. Also, if this is how the fight would have gone down, why Gwyn didn't send all four instead of just Artorias is beyond me lol
I just noticed that in DS1 only Artorias and Manus have "taunt" roar, at the start of the battles they both doing this, and in-battle they also doing this sometime, I think its a great thing to show how much the abyss corrupted Artorias. But still, MVP of this video is Gough, belly power!
Such a cool team, And they are so well color and size coordinated too. Like it makes me a special kind of happy to see them all different colors, designs, fighting styles, and flavors.
An important thing to remember about the lore is that Artorias and Hawkeye Gough are heavily injured. They're unable to use any of their most effective tactics. Artorias has been corrupted by the Abyss, he has a broken dominant arm, he's lost his magic shield and he's separated from his pet wolf and cat. Hawkeye Gough had hot wax or tar poured into his eyes rendering him blind so he's an amazing archer being forced to fight based on his hearing and brute strength alone, not to mention he's probably not in his peak fighting condition after spending years whittling in a tower. At full strength they could each probably take Manus alone, but the Abyss swallowing Oolacile has broken them before they had a chance.
Artorias was at full strength when he went into the Abyss. He didn't waltz in with a broken arm. He broke it during his failed attempt at fighting Manus. We find Sif close to Manus' boss room, and we can see the trail of corruption Artorias left behind as he left Oolacile dungeon. Elizabeth also implies that Artorias was completely out of his league.
Artorias: Ornstein, I am Artorias, the coolest knight of Lordran, I even got a wolf, now I'm going to the abyss and kill Manus Ornstein: We're coming with you THE END
Yeah but in Canon Manus hid at the bottom of the abyss like a bitch and only Artorias had the covenant + shield to get to him. Maybe he kites manus OUT the abyss then gang him with all 4?
@@rakshithanand8262 I mean. Was it stated that there could only be one covenant like the Artorias one? Because they could just go get 3 more and get to the abyss
I love how Gough just stands there like he’d rather settle it peacefully, but then when Manus starts bighand slapping his comrades, he’s all “Listen here you little shit!”😂
Keep in mind this is with Gough blinded and without his bow, Artorias brused and his main hand broken, and with the A.I lacking proper communication and tactics between each other. The four knights of Gwyn are godlike in themselves
