She writes her own songs, plays multiple instruments drums, piano, bass and acoustic guitar. She's definitely channeling Prince's spirit. lol Chris is just so amazing as well.

Some time befor this performance, someone asked Chris in an interview who he would like to work with and he said H.E.R. She did a Tiny Desk concert on PBS, and Chris did as well.

Most ppl don't understand how hard it is to sing/play like that together. You see it more often in players that learned by ear. Many times you'll see it in players that do the stank face. That them sounding out those notes in their head. Ppl that don't play, much of the time don't understand what that player is doing. Or they may just think the player is really into it...

I've never had CHILLS through an entire song until.... JUST NOW. What's crazy is, after Super Bowl 55 and now Super Bowl 57, I thought H.E.R. should've been packaged together with Chris Stapleton for the Super Bowl intro show (God Bless America and then the National Anthem / Star Spangled Banner). Chris did the National Anthem in SB 57 and H.E.R. did God Bless America in SB 55. I had no clue they actually made a song together until about an hour ago. This is unreal.

You can see the joy they have in each other's talent. Neither has to hold back. H.E.R won an Academy award in 2021 for best original song "Fight For You", which she co-wrote and composed for the film "Judas and the Black Messiah". Then won a Grammy for the same song!

Around 7:15 you mention about riffing with the voice and the guitar at the same time. For me the best version of that was done by Johnny and Edgar Winter on the Song Tobacco Road - Live Long Version.. It will truly blow your mind !

You might enjoy Chris' collab called, "Sweet Symphony" with Joy Oladokun. I've never heard her before and have no idea how this came about, but I really liked it!
