about stepping quietly, i heard similar things like walking on rice paper without tearing it, or walking on standing bricks without toppling them. for heavy stepping or stomping, some people said to do it only in practice because the energy moves downward instead of toward the opponent, so it's inefficient and a waste of energy. there are teachers (from bajiquan, if i remember correctly) who reduce or even avoid heavy stomping, calling the stomping 'beginner practice' while the no-stomping 'advance practice'.

Sure. Heavy stomping is duo jiao. A mistake. But not stepping heavily as a result of fa jin training

@@HaiYangChannel yes, i hope when you have the chance, you can demonstrate the difference between duo jiao and zhen jiao. maybe with a student, correcting their stomping :)

Thank you Master Yang. I want to ask abouy sinking qi to the dantien, is it as simple as putting your intent down (thinking down) which causes the body to move up (as body and energy move in opposite directin as far as I am aware)?

I will answer it for you in next week's video.

@@HaiYangChannel Thank you Master. I base this reasoning of putting intent down for qi chen dantien as the same mind-intent can be used in say, ward-off (put intent back because opponent is pushed away) or in taichi movement Aan (where you put intent up because Aan brings the opponent to the floor). Also I forgot to mention last week you mentioned the Lu or rollback is a technique that moves force of to the side instead of into the body (which is what is conventionally thought) so in this technique you would do a mind-intent of creating a forward semi or quarter circle. Not sure if all this is totally correct but look forward to your clarifications.
