"If it's not portable, I don't want it" is often my saying, I'd feel like an hostage, too cumbersome and fragile installations. I can't understand why they all REALLY WANT to install in, like invading one's house, putting their shoes on table, bubbling in one's bathtub. Dude, this PC is mine, get off ur shoes ! It's often perfectly useless to install, portable version often works absolutely the same. Thanks for the tip ! (actualy I knew it but I wanted to like it and say : POWER TO THE PORTABLE ! '='D )

How do you get your VST's programms portable such as Refx Nexus, Omnisphere, Ik multimedia stuff..I want all on external harddrive without ever have to re-install?

Does the portable app opens in its own Window on the USB Flash Drive?

Everytime I re-install my OS I use Ninite to install all the important applications I had, very easy and pain free.

I have seen some portable applications showing a "custom splash screen". And some of them generates a folder named "Sandbox". What portable app creator creates a folder called "Sandbox" around the packaged .exe file?? Its not cameyo i think. I'm trying to create a portable version of my After Effects installation, but im new on this

Chief Architect Ver 10 is installed on an old computer of mine and requires a key fob to initiate the program if I move it to a new computer. The problem is the key fob has become obsolete and will no longer work. I called Chief Architect and they advised me that the key fob is a third party item and they are not responsable. They want me to buy all new software, and there is nothing wrong with the program, I just want to move it and have it work. It would be great to make it portable and not have the problem again. Can I do that?

Will this work on older programs that used Windoze 2003?

I created a variation of this. I have my Windows on a 3.0 thumb drive. UEFI will need to be set to legacy to allow the boot up. My laptop is old and won't boot from my 2.0 or 3.0, so it runs a bit slow at times. That aside, it is kewl to be able to take my system with me in my pocket without having to install my stuff on a someone else's system or leave behind personal data like account information.

Does Cameyo has to take a system snapshot everytime you decided to make a package? It seems to take a long time!

You can Install a program with serial or crack Like: Sony Vegas pro 9.0 and other programs have serial number ....but in your video install not have serial number

you are trying to open vlc from same laptop..on that laptop vlc is already installed by u try this process on another laptop

It does NOT work when you install a FONT. It only captures the font file, but does not installed it for your virtual application.

Yes, these tools are similar. All applications can be portable!

@bazen13 Why? Assuming Cameyo can handle the files (them being so large) it should theoretically work, and there's not a whole lot to virtualize since games don't need much stored in the registry.

Cameo tool never worked fro me on following OS Win7 x86 x64 win10 x86 x64 i never have been able to make a portable for any program. i tried on many apps. all failed.

is there any app? that will make portable application by using 1 setup file only,,, means there is no need to install them on system to make them portable !!! pl suggest if there is any 1 ?!!!

@MrShoy That depends on native libraries. There are sadly many missing libraries in Wine, so you'd get errors for that. :( Would be nice to give Halo 2 a try, though. ;)

Why not just install to USB?

doesn't work all the time. plus you HAVE TO INSTALL AN APPLICATION if you are using their desktop program. Still when it works it is pretty cool.

you should try ninite.com it's cool a lot of cool tools into one installer keep it and install into multiple computer not as cool as portables but it's still pretty cool

You can have bootable versions of both windows and linux operating systems on your usb drive so its actually pointless to use it...

It looks like the apps only work on a Windows OS so why, on their front page do they state: "Use your apps directly from any computer" Plainly 'any' computer means any WINDOWS computer. So, for me, totally useless! A post in their forum says 'not tested on WINE' either ...
