It's funny watching this nearly 10 years later, because I completely forgot about this movie and couldn't remember if it was real for the first 10 seconds. Aged perfectly.
Another issue is that being a zookeeper is a position that requires schooling and training and responsibility, but in a movie like Zookeeper it's an undignified job that's almost all about shoveling animal poop.
@@tylernilson7021 I think this guy just made a trump joke at himself lmao I wasn't even thinking that until they brought it up, it's like they're catching on.. slowly..
I love these guys' honesty. They're sarcastic as fuck but at the same time you can feel the bile and hatred through every second of the video. They are not afraid to call out shitty film making for what it is like so many reviewers are.
Blan Blazbo They do not tolerate criticism. Also, they are not funny and their reviews are unimpressive. All the humour and sharp criticism we saw in Star Wars reviews is gone. Now they sit and chat, provide no real insight, and frankly, they are not funny. The qualities they exhibited when they became popular are now completely gone.
Ted Striker Says you. That's purely a matter of opinion. I and many people who watch them think they are still funny. I guess they're just not your type of humor.
80 million dollar budget, roughly the same as Hunger Games and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World in terms of cost. That shocked me. Those stunning visual effects and A list stars had to cost at least 200 million.
It's my understanding that the Plinkett that Rich plays in the Half In The Bag sketches, and the one Mike voices in the Plinkett reviews, are two different characters. I get the feeling that there's a large in-bred family of Plinketts in Milwaukee.
When I first saw this, for the first ~minute and a half I was like "lol, this isn't fake... are they doing a joke?" but Mike and Jay's acting sold me and I became convinced it was really a fake trailer... then the ending happened... I'll go first...
Boy, I can just picture the people being herded into the theatre, the usher screaming "PIG SLOP, COME AND GET YOUR PIG SLOP, THE TROUGHS ARE FULL YOU FUCKING SWINE"
+MrThedorkknight Well you should be more specific than that, you don't wanna blow out just some non vital part of your brain and then wake up a week later and not be able to feel emotions and now there's some guy named Burt berating you constantly inside your head. Aim for the brain stem.
"I believe there is another world waiting for us, Sixsmith. A better world. And I'll see you there." *BANG*. "AAAUAUGUHGGHH. AAARKK. MER FACHING FAAAAYFE. FIXFMIFF, HEP MEEE. AURHSD)_"£QDN_ASD." fin.
that noise that starts at 7:40 with Jays world being shattered at the revelation of zookeeper being a real moive has stuck with my soul since i saw this one 10 years ago!
@@chiefr9627 This is an old comment, but in case anyone's confused: When a video is made private and then made public again, RU-vid lists the most recent time it was made public as the release date of the video. But the old comments are still there. So, in short, the video is older than RU-vid says it is.
+moduscorp For a minute, I thought you were kidding about the Roger Ebert thing. But then I looked it up... makes you wonder how much he took to write that shit, because he wouldn't write THAT unless he was getting some big money for it.
I have seen this as a child and completely forgot about it. Then, I watched this video and was honestly convinced that this was a fake movie trailer. I only remembered that I've seen Zookeeper before because I googled to see if it's real or not.
I legit thought that the joke was that that someone would find TGIF's edible at all. Like, it never occurred to me that it was supposed to be a flattering product placement.
I never saw Zookeeper because I haven't hit my head with the front door enough times yet, but I'm sad that that was a Talking Heads song in the trailer. 😒
this messed me up bc i was only like 11 when this movie came out and seriously couldnt tell until i saw the comments if they were joking. the whole time i was thinking "oh but there was a zookeeper movie 10 years ago wasnt there? mustve come out later.. 🤔"
This really is brilliant! I love how Half in the Bag does creative things like this. Another example is when one went to see the first half of Transformers 3 while the other saw the 2nd half.
Can you even remember what it was like back in 2012? Or 2000? It didn't SEEM that much better back then but maybe we should be glad things aren't more fucked up than they are because apparantly they WILL be.
Best Half in the Bag! MOAR comedy stuff like this episode, they're still about serious things but with the fun parts of the reviews that we all came here for. Hoping you'll find your mix!
Hilarious. You guys had me for a moment, and then once I figured it out, laughed the rest of the way. And yet it still has such rewatch value. What is that screeching sound at the end? It sounds like something out of good ol' Salad Fingers.
My 2021 brain went straight to thinking that when "someone" made the trailer, it was a guy with his laptop, using deepfakes to alter some pre-existing footage and put together a convincing fake. Because that's like perfectly possible. And then they go "they hired actor" and I was like "oooo, someone you mean an actual group of people with budget, crew etc.... how peculiar" xD Edit: OMG it is a real movie we don't deserve to survive as a species
