The Halo 2 collar is currently the most effective smart GPS Based fence and training system for dogs offering more flexibility, product support, and training support.
The newly upgraded Halo Collar - released in the fall of 2021 is called the Halo 2 Collar. This video unboxes the newer version and highlights the physical differences between the original and upgraded product, which overall are minimal.
Physically, the differences are not noticeable except that the Halo 2 has a more rugged collar, by taking advantage of a canvas-like pro-case to help keep it from ongoing wear and tear from outdoor environments, other dogs, and ocean swimming.
The most significant difference, however, cannot be visibly seen, it's really the internal brain with improved cellular reception, location accuracy, wifi, Bluetooth, and battery performance.

The company also released adjustable indoor beacons or “keep away” zones for their pets that can be placed in the house. Personally, I haven't tested out the new beacons that act as a "bubble of space" but I'm looking forward to testing them out in the laundry bin, where Vivi's favorite keep-away toys (socks) are.

They have a really amazing trashcan made by simple human(plastic black and half circle shaped w/silver accents). They have snap locks on their handle. My partner discovered it after we got our dog. We bought it just for using at home and turned out it already had a lock built into the handle.

One of the main problems I have is that my dog can't have the prongs on for very long. Dogtra has comfort prongs that reduce the chance of a hot spot. I'd love to see that.

Hi KT, thanks for your videos on the Halo...We are considering getting one but have heard many negative reviews. I'm more concerned with the GPS boundaries working correctly. I've heard several people say their dog can go way past the set boundary. What is your experience with the boundary limits?

Hi Jay … yes there is no doubt that there has been some critics - but i take that with a grain of salt. Personally i have not had issues with the gps … I did have to reset/recalibrate my collar when i noticed she was wandering a bit further than normal - however i also sometimes discover its simpler than that … the points arent making contact. I just shot a video about putting the collar on properly - sometimes we dont realize the human error that can impact performance. One important note is that no matter what system you use some dogs are just driven to pursue beyond the boundry. Lastly the halo 2 is sharing improved gps performance from halo 1 …. Hope that helps.

Hi KT, thanks for the great info on the Halo collar. we have been using ours for almost a year. we just had to get a warranty replacement on ours, which worked out fine for us, BUT, the new collar has a factory sticker on the back of the unit that says "HALO ONE". its supposed to be 2, Halo customer service says this is a printing error on the sticker but I'm skeptical. Does your new Halo 2 unit's sticker say "HALO ONE" like mine?

I’m not sure - however they can look at your collar remotely (digitally) I would ask them to send you a report with your serial number and device info.

Hello, thank you for these videos. I’ve watched all of them about halo. About to pull the trigger today and buy one. My one question is, I live in a very small house. My GSD is not allowed upstairs and she respects that already. When I do the indoor testing, there’s no space where she’s not allowed to go. It’s a small space. My concern is if I train her to stay out of the living room for example, I’m afraid she learns not to go there anymore limiting her to a kitchen and dining room. Can you do that part outside or am I overthinking?

I bet she'll respect that. My trainer once explained to me that dogs have file folders ... we fill them with what they need to know, so if it's part of her knowledge base it should continue to build on her learning and schema. Keep me updated.

Hey there, thanks for the video. For the plans, if I get the cheapest, will the haptic current feature still work? I was confused reading this "Custom beacon ranges for each beacon, Remote prompts for custom training" didn't know if that meant the cheaper one didn't shock, but the middle one did. I can do the training myself, just need that invisible fence and that collar-to-dog communication to let him come back. I'm moving to an area where he will have much, much bigger fenceless space, and I need him to stay within that area.

KT, I am considering a Halo2. I am wondering if it is necessary to remove the collar when the dog comes back into the house and then put it on each time dog goes outside into the containment area?

I tend to take the collar off when I'm leaving and not around, If I were a dog I wouldn't want to be hanging around with all that bling on me - but you don't have to. I also like that I can charge it up if needed while away.

There can be interference but there are ways to adjust it and calibrate in more advanced settings.

It is made and shipped from China yup China. How do I know. I ordered one and as soon as it shipped like a week later. I seen it was shipping from China so I contacted halo to ask why and my questions were avoided. So I canceled the order. I think they purposely keep this information from the consumer on purpose. She should know this but is refusing to answer because she’s paid by halo to make these videos I’m sure.
