Really nice video and your indepth explanation whats within inside the book. Ngl because of that am actually very keen in buying this book now and what to expect from it :)
It's ok but lacks a lot of detail giving false impressions of certain things and reads often like it's simply trying to celebrate the master chief and give fans what they want to read An example of this is the author being very disparaging to the previous Spartan generations missing out key info. I.e the Spartan 3's. It doesn't mention they actually had superior training to the 2's and the CAT 2 Spartan 3's were of equal genetic worth to the Spartan 2's-hence them being pulled into separate teams and given MJOLNIR. It also doesn't mention that the SPARTAN 4's were designed to be equal to the 2's inside their suits as the newer gen MJOLNIR was to bridge the physical gap as they had less extensive augmentations to the previous Spartan generations. -This can all be sourced from the novels and Frank O Connor (former director of Halo)
This book I purchased was epic and kinda disappointing. It has really cool art made for characters you don't see (the ones in the novels). I think the artist did a really good and cool job of making the characters in his own vision, and they look just like how you'd picture them. It has easy to read-and-understand information, even easier than what you'd find on. the fandom Wikipedia. However, it has a quite bumming problem. You Get great information on sanghelios, and doisac! But what about Balaho? And Eayn? What about the grunt and jackal/skirmisher individuals? There's actually quite a few, *but not in the book*. I was hoping to find even more information on them, but for whatever reason they leave out the grunts and jackals, only mentioning them. It really sucks, because I imagine many fans originally bought this book hoping it would shed light on them more. That's basically what keeps this "encyclopedia" from being an *encyclopedia* I think people (especially me) love reading encyclopedias because it tells us interesting things we might not know. But this book heavily focuses on mostly brutes and elites, (and a bit of prophets) who by the way are the most well known species of halo, with tons of well known lore. Meaning alot of fans are reading mostly everything they already know when it comes to the covenant.
Good point, come to think of it there are actually quite a few Jackal and especially Grunt characters throughout the lore who don't feature in the encyclopedia.
