@@raidenxd9781 Covenant, Spartan IIIs are too young to have lived through the insurrection. Only Spartan IIs have any memory of them, and they barely fought them.

You should definitly watch Halo forward unto dawn before playing through halo 4, it gives context to some stuff that happens in the game. And it's really well done for a live action halo movie. :D

@@orion3740 You know what, that’s fair, but still, I’m pretty sure all Spartan III orphans were orphaned due to covenant causes. They join up into the program precisely because they are offered revenge for their families.

The final trailer you watched wasn't on Reach it was on another world where Kat lost her arm and shows how the original Noble 6 you replace in game dies.

Honestly if that's true it's kinda dumb. In the trailer in literally zooms out from the ship explosion to reveal and entire planet under attack and overlays it with "remember Reach". Like showing Jupiter and writing remember Earth, it makes no sense from a direction standpoint.

In the campaign I made the mistake of letting Cat drive a revenant, she left without me. I was so pissed that by the time I caught up with her, ON FOOT mind you, I emptied all my ammo trying to kill her.

In that last trailer it was showing noble team on the planet Fumirole fighting off the covenant. At the time noble 6 was a spartan by the name of Thom. It shows how Kat lost her arm and how the other noble 6 sacrificed himself to destroy a covenant ship. That's why our spartan joined noble team as the 'new noble 6' and how you see Kat with a bionic arm in game.

The Spartan who took the bomb to the ship with a jet pack was Thom, the original Noble 6 who died and was replaced by us, which at first upset the rest of Thom’s friends in Noble Team Thom is why Carter says “you’re stepping into some shoes the rest of the squad would rather leave unfilled”.

"Remember when there was a tomorrow." That line hits me so hard. That woman would never see her family again. Everyone on that planet was already dead at that point. These trailers captured something so tragic about the Halo story. It's a thing of beauty to go back and see every once in a while.

She probably didn't even make it off planet. Notice the flight schedule in the back all the flights are being cancelled as well as all the soldiers rushing in. Although I guess if they evacuated people whoever is at the port would either A. be killed first since that would be a high value target or B. Some of the first to get evacuated. Although I don't think they really had time to evac reach if I remember correctly the covies hit them fast and hit them hard

Fun fact, the day before trailer, that guy talking about getting two jobs in exchange for leaving visegrad is the son of the farmer way back in mission 1 Morgan, when you were interrogating civilians, and those marines loading up where that unit you found inside the station. The trailer with carter, no master chief’s generation of Spartans were more inhumane half of spartan 2 recruited died in this process. Spartan 3’s are more like a “space captain America” just serums and they become Spartans. Deliver hope trailer, this trailer showed Jorge, Kat, Jun and the og noble 6, in the beginning Jorge said “so that’s our new number 6?” Because you replaced him, og noble 6 (aka thom) died with that ship you saw last, and Kat lost her arm there.

Actually Spartan 3s got many of the same augmentations as spartan 2s, but you are right it wasnt a complete set like the the spartan 2s. The main difference was an agression augmentation allowing them to fight even further past their limit when they are going to die. Because that was their purpose. Suicide missions on high value targets. 2 survivors of the first group. A small handful of the second group after the events of Onyx. Everyone can criticize halsey for what she did, but oni intentionally sent those kids to die.

Carter must be about 14 years or younger in that live action trailer. In Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, as well as in Halo: The Fall of Reach, we’re told that both Spartan IIs and IIIs went through the augmentation procedures at about 14 years of age. They probably used an older actor because seeing a kid go through those procedures would have been too much for the trailer, maybe have gathered some bad publicity for the game or xbox in general.

Yeah. Just read Onyx so was looking for this. The Spartan III were around 12-14 when they got their augmentations, but also had been given hormones so their bodies were older than their age. So sad that they pretty much all died...

look at like 16-yr-old mike tyson. some kids develop faster. i think at least the Spartan IIs were selected partially on the basis of genetic markers, so,e of which could’ve been for maturation rate

Carter was actually around 16 years old when he was augmented, being conscripted at the age of around 12. By contrast, Kat (and apparently B312) was around 9 years old when she was conscripted and most other Spartan-III's were usually 4-6. Carter was actually the oldest known Spartan-III active during the Fall of Reach.

IIRC, the ones taken out for special units like Noble and others got additional augmentations before getting MJOLNIR armor.

The white spartan with the jet pack in the final “Deliver Hope” trailer was the original Noble Six that you end up replacing at the start of Reach. His name was Thom, and he died on that Covenant ship as it exploded. Kat also lost her arm to that banshee strike, and it left her with the guilt of forcing him to sacrifice himself.

The last one is where Kat lost her arm and the team lost their previous Noble 6. The guy throwing the bomb was the previous Noble 6. He sacrificed himself.

I love that you watched the trailers after playing Halo Reach! There's so much subtext and character material nobody would have picked up on. In that last liver trailer we see how Kat lost her arm in that explosion and how the previous Noble 6 died, so yes it is cannon!

It’s said first trailer you see in this video is part of the book called Mortal Dictata. The man wants to find his daughter who was abducted by ONI for the Spartan program. She went missing and was supposedly found but the father didn’t think it was his daughter because of how she acted. Granted he was right. His daughter Naomi was sent to be part of the Spartan 2 program.

Deliver hope trailer shows what happened before you join noble team, the original noble six tom died delivering the bomb, and if you look closely at Kats arm after she's hit its damaged, thats the reason she has a robot arm in the campaign.

So the one that blew himself up on that last video was not jeorge it was the previous noble six. that event took place before the game reach. it showed how Kat got blown up and lost her arm thats why she has a metal arm in reach, and why you come in as the new replacement. because this guy blew himself up, other wise it would have been Kat who we would have been replacing at the start of reach.

y'know by comparison the spartan 3 augmentation was much less painful... spartan 1 orions were crude and pretty much killed all subjects, then the spartan 2 prototypes, like johnson were not great either. but the 2s like chief, that was nasty, the book described how a third died from complications. they were genetically augmented, and their bones were surgically grafted with extremely hard materials. in the fall of reach, john and his team had to climb up an elevator shaft, he stated that if he fell, his bones wouldn't break, but the impact would still probably cause serious internal damage. on top of that, their bodies were scarred, and their minds too. those that didn't pass augmentation but lived and were too damaged for service found use for their minds in intel based positions. at least the trade off, if you can call it that, was speed, strength, and reflexes that surpassed any human, and quite a few elites. and thats without their armor. mjolnir, i think, multiplied all that by 5.

Considering Spartan III's were all fed growth hormones to increase their mass and accelerate maturity it's more likely the opposite is true. Not that it matters since the augmentation procedures for Spartan II's & III's effectively killed their sex drives. I suspect that wasn't on purpose since Halsey kept going on and on about Spartans being humanity's evolutionary next step and without a drive to procreate that "next step" just leads to a dead end.
