In this mission, you battle a scarab in the ruins where the Covenant's dome stood. You only have around twenty through thirty (20-30) minutes to destroy it while battling wave after wave of Covenant attacks. Everytime I attack the scarab it just targets my base and destroys the wall and my base in under 2 mins. I barely get it half dead before I fail the mission

I think at some point if you get caught leaving your base and the scarab is looking near your base, it will target your wall and do insane damage to it. Suggestion is to move out whenever the head is very far away and slow down by destroying the nodes whenever you can.

As you shouldn't. The amount of garbage you have to deal with sometimes is unfathomable. Like dealing with Jackal Snipers in Halo 2 at times.

i did this mission with full level warthogs squads, 5 per squad to destroy nodes, and then send all my army to destroy de scarab

I don't know what changed but the moment that sacrab gets 1/2 health, it concentrates on the walls in front of my base and destroys the base

Thankfully this mission seemed to just glitch for me at some point and the laser kept firing in the one spot, without moving. Might've been because I had units to the left and right of it at the exact same distance? idk

instead of relying on the rng, i put some marine around the map as a trap xD, it seems at max lvl it needs two shoots to kill em

And there’s no visible time limit, you just wait until Forges voice line about the wall and that me when it’s basically over as there is nothing you can do but watch the base blow up in the next 2 minutes

Ya this mission doesn't give you any warning and the best way I have been able to get bonus time is to be aggressive early on and distract it whenever you can. This mission is arguably worse than Arcadia City. Hope you were able to get the mission done though.

@@A2AxPhoenix I'm just use to multiplayer where resources are extremely scarce. Plus since you're fully optimized you probably didn't even need them, but lol it was frustrating when YOU pointed it out, and then took so long to get them.

Do you recommend once you’ve got scorpions decimating the scaraob, to save a Mac blast for the influx of locust that destroy your base ? Sucks your have to protect your base as well as destroy the scaraob

I do recommend saving that Mac blast. You could use it defensively or offensively. You could also leave a small (2) detachment of tanks at your base if you prefer keeping your mac offensively.

I don't feel bad at all that I used cheats on this mission. Now this. This is what I hate in games like this. Warcraft 3 has the same bullshit on some missions. You can go through the missions stably, you might lose units, but you can get through with relative ease, enjoying the game and the story. And then it throws a mission like this your way. A mission that has so insane a difficulty spike, that if you don't play like the world champion, you will fucking die every single time you attempt it. It's just so damn stupid.

The scarab is on a timer to destroy your base, sometimes you just have to take what you have a start destroying the nodes that control the head’s speed so you can get more time.

Halo Wars is drastically easier co-op. If you want to co-op your way through this mission because it is giving you trouble, I'd go for it.

You got this dude. This level has such an atrocious amount of RNG that strategy is kind of hindered by chance. Try to maneuver your troops away from your base whenever the scarab is at its furthest point from your base.
