Halo Wars Legendary Gold Campaign - Mission 4 Arcadia City 

ARCADIA CITY WILL GIVE YOU TONS OF NIGHTMARES - this is by far the hardest, the most unforgiving mission in whole game. First, you start from scratch and the Covenant are already fully upgraded. Second, this mission is pure randomness but expect a big whooping of you and civilian transports. Third, this mission be completely random - your Spartans might do stupid moves, transports will be eaten by 4 Locusts at once etc. etc. But to get the Gold with picking up everything, you need to micro a lot and have big combat bonus. Try to not lose as many units as possible, it's hard to rebuild them in this mission. Once Vampires are in sight, pull of your Hornets, in case of Banshees pull of Forge from their sight. Banshees are by far your worst nightmare, three of them might kill the transport. Building a second base give you 500 points, while rescuing 1000 Civilians are worth 1500 points. Sacrificing one transport is a good idea, remember that rescuing all 2 of them doesn't grant any bonuses.

If I knew that you could heal with the transport with the heal beam ability I would have cried a lot less.

This mission was a pain in the ass even on other difficulty, but it still was fun to beat.

Bruh I was doing it on heroic, I managed to keep all 4 hornets alive and with a lot of warthogs. Both Cargo One And Two we’re carrying just over 500 until in the last 30 secs, some “HEAVY TURRETs” destroyed both of my cargos and I manage to lose this mission in the last 5 secs. BRUH

You can get the second base objective by just building on the second base site at the beginning and destroying it a minute later. You don't need to keep it until the end of the level. :)

I actually found a cooler Gold strat for this mission on Legendary, I clear out the subway in -40 secs so I get 5x time multiplier, I set up that initial base but I also push for that 2nd base immediately, as long as you clear out that jackal tower and the enemies around that 2nd base BEFORE you build it the locusts and Wraiths generally ignore it, or you can wait until they push into cargo 1. I then Boom up the bases with a total of 7 Heavy Supply pads, then I'll have 2 Barracks, 1 Vehicle Depot and a Field Armory and the Reactors. I tech up Marines to Medic then garrison them in all the garrisons and I start building Cobras and 2 Wolverines(or 3 if I lose Hornets, the extra will defend the Spaceship). 1 Cobra will be close to where the civilians are exiting and then the rest creep up on the covie base. I tried it and it worked great, I eventually ended up destroying the Covie base with like a 9X multiplier and saved both Spaceships, I almost got 1k civilians too. It's kinda risky since because of the Boom you won't be building units till like 7-11 minutes before launch so you don't have a lot of units to defend the Spaceships, or defend the civilians so you get low civilian count, but I think if I ditched the time multiplier I could reliably get 1k civilians, then you would only need a high combat multiplier, which would be more easier by ditching the time. I actually got this idea by watching this really nooby player streaming this mission, but he gave me the inspiration to use the Cobras, and then you have to use Wolverines to defend from Vampires and Banshees. It works though and pretty well, once you have all your garrisons and you start pushing on the base all you have to defend the Spaceships against are Banshees.

When you always tried to keep both cargo units alive

I was thinking of just saving cargo two, cargo one is constantly under fire, however once cargo one is destroyed, there's no distraction for two, I agree this is the most unforgiving map in the game, even on the easier difficulties. It's good to know that everything is at random, I was pulling my forces to the wrong areas every time expecting them to be there, sadly I was wrong.

We don't share the same legendary experience. I now it's luck-based. As I am on my 12th attempt, with a full presence over cargo 2, the banshees just keep on coming every minutes and always prioritize their sacrifice on the cargo itself, regardless of whats in front of them. I tried everything from fully upgrade wolverines camping cargo 2, to mass ODST, fully upgraded warthogs, to fully controlling the spot enemy air always comes from between 1 and 2 in order to intercept them, and they still just ignore my assets and always go for the cargo 2. I guess I really just have to keep trying.

This mission is still a nightmare, i either wont get enough civilians for objective points or get suicide dived by 3 banshees when i have a good attempt.

This mission was especially rough on console way back when, imagine having to navigate this chaos using a controller and no quick savestates, also it lagged.

So, apparently because I hate myself, I refused to let Cargo 1 be destroyed on Legendary. How I did not shatter my disk before finally pulling it off is beyond me. NEVER AGAIN. My pride has been satisfied!!!!! But, I eventually took a bit of a cheap route to completing it. I started saving at key points, so that I wouldn't have to keep going through the unpredictable INSANITY of this mission. "Ok, last time they sent hunters and wraiths at Cargo 1 early on. This time I will defend Cargo 1 with anti vehicle units. Ohhhhhh wait, now they decided to send Banshee and Vampires to Cargo 1 and Cargo 2! is getting the hunters...awesome..."

This mission is fucking stupid hard for no reason at all, the game just says: "EVAC THESE CIVILIANS, HERE YOU GO, FUCK YOU!".

Don’t understand I do this mission perfect, barely lose any units, defend evac transport 2, even destroyed the covenants base where you can build your own on the east side. I get the box and the skull after killing 50 elites. And Im always short like 2,000 points or I randomly get Bronze medal with like 30k points.

i always get a hunter rush on my base before my first reactor is done building. fucking hate this mission

What do you do about the Heavy Turret? It looks like you ignore it...

I actually almost managed to save both cargo ships. Unfortunately, I accidentally moved my entire army away from the ship to defend my base. A couple of banshee popped up and killed the cargo ship before even my Hornets and hogs could get to them. Why to banshee kill so freaking quickly? Since then, I haven't been able to remember what tactic I used to get that far. But, bright side, I did manage the gold medal on heroic. Hmm...was it mass warthogs early on, fill base 1 with supply pads and two reactors for grenadier, then use base 2 for vehicles and airships?

I'm missing 4000 points every time 😤

I Don't know how I got gold in this mission probably because I tried so hard to protect all the people I could.

Every time I get to the ten second mark dropship 2 just blows up out of nowhere despite that it is on full health, this has happened three times. What do I do?

I just beat Arcadia City Mission on Legendary and saved 1000 civilians. However I didn't get a gold medal but just a tin medal. What did I do wrong?

The most bullshit level in the entire game

There is a reward from saving both cargos. It's called being a badass. Challenging your multi-tasking capabilities and improving them is how you get better. Don't give me that B.S. that it isn't possible because I've done it while maintaining a second base.
