Yea.. She said this is the most emotional songs she's ever written.. (She put her heart in it, completely.) About her and Gerald.. She says it's also about other relationships, things she saw her friends go thru.. Blah blah.. It's all her and Gerald. Her video (the regular one.. Newest one..), thats all about her and him. Now she's free (if you haven't seen her MTV EMA performance, you should. Right now! Lol.) Unbelievable. So telling.. 😲
I think that’s the appeal of these live lounge versions to me. The original studio versions get over produced. Just let the awesome singer and musicians do their job and get out of their way. You know what I mean?
I guess other singers have a lot of pesticides in their voices xp Never going to a live concert ever again, out of fear of singers using their voice to spray me with pesticides :s
her vocals just get better and better every year i’m so beyond proud of her, as a fan since room 93. she’s come so far and even though she could still work on some parts of her voice i think she sounds absolutely heavenly here.
Christina C I hated that fake-deep edgy persona she was trying to pull off in Badlands. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is more experimental and vocally/lyrically impressing. The fake-deep constant overbearing mental health enforcing meanings was so annoying. I love when artists use their platform to break stigmas like that but in EVERY song she had to mention some sort of corny mental illness and drug related metaphor
Why people have to judge her clothes, or her makeup. She is there to sing, so please appreciate her singing and her talent. People care more abt what she wears or looks.
@@cocainejesus65 No dude you have a great taste in people 😎 and I think even if anyone doesn't like what she's wearing, they should keep their mouth shut bcuz she's an artist, not a model!
It's because in the track there's another take of her singing the chorus as a backup vocal. Instead of rushing to get to the next line, she just skips to, "live without me." It's easier on the voice and makes for a better performance. It's not to disappoint the crowd it's a preservation of breath to hit the next note without strain, and a cleaner performance.
Heartbreak doesn't just happen to women, this song makes me smile and hurts all at the same time. This song is my last relationship down to the last word.
The stripped version of this song always hits me HARD. It’s a song so relatable. I love that she switched “thinking you can live without me” to “live without me” like she’s letting go officially. The stripped down album version has “go on and live without me”. Beautiful.
Her changing "Thinking you can live without me" to just "Live without me" affected me in ways I can't even explain. EDIT: Even if it is her just being out of breath, it personally changed the meaning of the song for me so y'all can stop commenting about that lmao.
@@ThanhPham-vt6kv I feel like her singing "Thinking you can live without me" implies that whoever she's singing about still has her in their life while "Live without me" implies that they don't talk anymore and the other person has to deal with the fact that she's not there for them anymore.
raf mpn check out her interviews on the song. It breaks it down. Every word really does have meaning. Even the Justin Timberlake verse from Cry Me a River. I think she carefully constructs her lyrics, which all artists should do but it’s obvious that many do not.
her voice is honestly has me in tears omg she works so hard for everyone and never fails to make them proud she needs to appreciated for how far she has gone and how hard she's worked like I JUST LOVE HOW HUMBLE AND COMPASSIONATE SHE IS.her voice is very beautiful I love it.
i badly want to sing this but my voice always fail me edit: Thank you so much for your kind words! And those who're like me, let's work hard and sing this until we are satisfied. Let music help us be happy. 💕 (sorry for my bad English)
This song is very hard for beginners mostly cause you need to be an expert using a mix voice, chest and head. She brings a lot of mask to her range too. Try mastering your middle and low range first using chest voice and open throat [low larynx]
Probably one of the best most meaningful and heart felt live performances I've ever witnessed! And it hits deep with myself. What a voice. What a woman
This song described my last relationship 100%. I met my ex BF 3.5 years ago. He was 32. He was suffering from a broken heart and depression from his last relationship. He was the typical dorky Scientist. He was socially awkward, didn't know how to dress and had no friends. He wasn't really my type, but I grew to love him because I know his heart was genuine and pure. In many ways, I felt bad for him and felt like I needed to take care of him. That turned into love. For 3 years, I was there beside him. I talked to him every day and comforted him. I became his best friend. I was his only friend at the time. I taught him how to dress properly. What haircut makes him handsome. I pushed him to go out and make friends. I introduce him to many people. I pushed him to workout. I pushed him to get promotions from his jobs. I pushed and cheered him on everything, when nobody else was. 3.5 years later, after he's not depressed anymore and have friends now and get a little attention now from other people, he just left me out of the blue. The last 2 years, I planned my life around him. I declined a great job offer from out of state because I loved him. And even got an apartment so that we can be together. It is the most painful thing. To invest 3.5 years of your life to someone, thinking it is permanent, but then they just suddenly leave you, after you built them up. Many months have passed since, and now he is begging me to come back, realizing that he just lost the one gem in his life. But now, I am in love with another man who treats me the same exact way I treated my ex. Love moves in such mysterious ways.
Watching this vid reminded me of when I first found Halsey in a video singing Hurricane live for Vevo Discover. The raw emotion and honesty are what set her apart from so many other singers.
@@wheniwas15yearoldiwasraped92 Ummmm..... This person was complimenting Halsey. You like halsey right? Then respect her opinion. Dont make her/him regret complimenting halsey. Respect her/him opinion and respect the Artists she/he likes. And they will respects yours. PS. Grow up no one likes a hater
Just RAW!! No need for anything but that voice! This literally gives me chills.....absolutesly a REAL singer!!! She should have dropped the mic on this!!!
hey guys. Anyone who is reading this - I hope you're doing great and staying safe. I know people dont like these kind of comments but hear me out, only if you are interested, i did a mash up of Halsey songs on my guitar. please check it out if u want. Peace.🧡🧡🧡👉👈
She has the most amazing voice. And this live version she did is way better then the album versions. So much power and direction. Makes you feel alive listening to it
It’s such a stupid argument because EVERY singer uses it. Mostly just to correct the notes you just can’t hit. I actually think your label would fire you if you never used it, they want their songs to be perfect anyways
Wow. Can we agree she is the most underrated artist out here right now. The kind of voice that gives me the tingles. Beautiful. She paints with her voice.
Okay, I’m a Halsey fan, HOWEVER, for the people wanting clarification on the “auto-tune” debate, here it is: This is NOT Auto-Tune. It’s a live tool called Melodyne. It’s a subtle pitch correction tool that adds a metallic filter to the notes. A lot of artists use it, and as a music fan, I personally don’t mind it. The original Without Me has FULL BLOWN auto tune, which again is fine. Stylistically, the melodyne sounds awesome on this acoustic version. She has improved so much, and I sincerely enjoyed the raw energy she provided with amazing LIVE filtered production. Appreciate the style. If you can’t, exit the app or switch to your type of live music. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk ❤️
Its auto tune, auto tune is just another name for pitch correction, melodyne is an auto tuning software so yeah she is auto tuned 👌 not a hater either.
Melodyne does not have a mode for live performances. Even tho this is Live Lounge they do post production before uploading it to RU-vid so it most likely is Melodyne.
This brings tears to my eyes because it reflects my feelings after I got dumbed and you can actually see and hear and feel every pain from her heart coming out of her mouth in this video I can really feel every emotion as if it’s my own damn….
One of the most original individual pure vocalists I could listen to and never get fedup of, I don't mind ppl having opinions and comments that r different, but I wish the haters n nasty and unnecessary personal comments on any media platforms I c regularly would actually look at the mirror or think before they hate n negatively post.... Ppl in glass houses n all that.
