Hasbro really like Beast Wars. Maybe because the roster is not a massive bunch of rectangles. They are fun organic shakes to design. This is a freaking dragon. I agree with your neck critique. It’s the cowlick we just ignore. Great toy!
Congrats on getting Dragon Megatron Ham-Man Reviews!!!! I can not wait for this figure to get released, since I did not think we were getting a figure of Transmetal II Megatron in only wave 3 of the Legacy line. :D Keep on being amazing.
Eagerly anticipating a masterpiece version of this guy if Takara ever decides to bless us with one. I know there are 3rd party figures but there's just something about having an official figure on the shelf.
very reassuring knowing there's screws on that head, not sure how i didn't spot those before. i kind of feel like there's fewer screws and more glue or flat-topped pins from siege onwards, which kind of makes me nervous about attempting repairs. i swear there's something about your camera settings that makes his red plastic way more metallic and shiny than any other video or picture i've seen of the guy. i was a little confused seeing how the CAD render of the guy looked metallic, but all of the pictures/videos up to this point look like a flat red to these eyes. looks excellent, hope hasbro/takara don't do a Beast Machines edition so that they don't tempt me to double down on a leader-price toy
I don’t know if I’ve ever actively thought about it before. It’s something I’ll try pay more attention to. He’s pretty shiny in real life so I tried to bring it out in my colour grade
This looks more than wonderful, and I like that he's got some artistic license going on. Looks like a power rangers villain, and in the best way. If there's any new Transformers that I pick up, it might be this even with both Hasbro and Justinflation having exploded prices these days.
@@HamManReviews I'll be on the look out for sure. Distribution is horrible where I live these days, but between Toys R Us and the two Walmarts, it might show up. These places (the former most notably) used to be really good, but in the last year there's barely even a Transformers section at all. I might actually have better luck at GameStop, especially since the Transformers stuff that management brings into my local store tends to be the more unique ones when they do.
My Schtick has been SHtolen. I don't get the point of Ratcheted Waists, like when has that ever served a purpose. When you put it next to the OG figure it kind of blew my mind because I was sure the Beast Wars figure would have been a lot bigger.
Hahahahaha maximum elbows! Yeh ratchet was was odd. I see no posing advantage. The original is much bulkier but yeh until I put him in the shot I hadn’t realised either.
Looks awsome and Dragon mode is great, probably my most anticipated figure after Leo Prime. Hopefully they do the Transmetal 1 Megatron and BWII Galvatron.
15:49 Controversial? From what I've seen from the review, honestly, I agree with your opinion. Truly an impressive looking figure, ecspecially the dragon mode. It has it flaws of course but overall, I'm still impressed by this figure. Definitely one to get. He's definitely my top three figure from Legacy. Anwyay, great review. He's definitely gonna be repainted into Cryotek, there's no doubt that will happen.
Just what I needed after a morning spent being rained on... I am deffo getting this guy. Nice to see Optimal Optimus from PotP too, still have a lot of love for that figure.
I got him only last week (my BW collection is only a month or two old and consists of that, Netflix primal, Kingdom Megs and Convobat). He's ace. Clunky, awkward, a bit rubbish, but ace nonetheless. I like having Ape X Arms ride him about the place.
I can understand that, I don’t mind them leaning into the toy aesthetic for this one. I think it’ll probs be a hot minute before we revisit optimal Optimus though.
The more I look at this figure, the more I enjoy it and want to buy it but something about the red on him feels off to me. Maybe I could match the red and make it more metalic?
no I meant that they should do an upgrade kit for, lengthen the tail then make sure that the legs can be transformed as in the original version otherwise so it is incomplete
I fine with the heads look. Not a big fan of size. It’s like a if idw grim lock was deluxe class. It just needs more breathing room. I wish there was just a toy head. And do the toy head for cryotech.
I like the purple T. rex look more. But the kingdom toy I thought wasn’t that great. I hated the rubber. The T. rex head need to be bigger, and a removable tail. Then he’s gamer!
POWER EXTREME!!!(echos…….)a little 80s cartoon reference(ahem….Centurions). Plus they ripoff the third party Metal Dragon head(I know the name but “China”, not racist). The face looks awful but the original toy was that way too. Why do we keep call him a transmetal 2 but transmetal hybrid without the driver. I mean in the show Megatron dragon “beast mode” had no vehicle option. I’m glad no vehicle mode for the toy.
@@HamManReviews Well this does not have any vehicle kibble on it so the dragon mode is pure. Plus incorporating the claws into the chest is a nice touch. And both the tail and neck is more flexible for better possibly. But wish it was larger with a little engineering. I love the figure, good 1st attempt from Hasbro but……3rd party still kick ass!
Well I don’t personally. His vehicle looked odd and did not fix the aesthetic myself. 1st transmetal T-Rex was good and the rollerblades i like(he skated backwards into the darkness, sick!)
Never been a fan of Beast Wars save for 2 or 3 figures that I feel can fit in with my CHUG collection. This thing isn't one of them. The only Leader or Commander class Dragon that I actually look forward to grabbing is Deathsaurus. And that's only if they do it more justice than this goofy figure. Easy pass!
I love beast wars and I love when they bought G1 into it so for me this was a must have. It is always nice though when somethings not your bag though so ya can save some dollary doos
