I like to believe that the good beast wars figures are Hasbro’s way of apologizing for kingdom not having that many compared to g1

4:50 Ravage was not a Predicon he was only in 1 episode and he explicitly said “Deceipticons Forever!!!” Ravage is one of(if not the only) characters in BW that is canonically a DECEPTICON. HOW DID YOU MISS THAT???

This is one of 4 figures ever to make me stop in my tracks and just glare in awe ar how amazing it is, those others being Legacy Black Zarak, 86 Grimlock and Kingdom Blackarachnia. This figure is mind blowing. It is absolutely amazing. Even if the head is more Gigatron than Megatron, it is gorgeous. Words can't describe how great it is

Transmetal 2 Megatron was my holy grail toy as a kid while Beast Wars aired. I had every version of him and Optimus up until that point (including the bat vs alligator set) but never got the dragon. So 2 years ago when I discovered Jiang Xing and their 3rd party Winged Dragon (this character) I just had to get it which I did and I consider it the centerpiece of my collection but I'm really tempted to get this figure now, which I initially overlooked. Admittedly WingedDragon, for me, is mostly a display piece due to his size, weight, complexity and the fact that the more I touch it the higher the chance more of that beautiful paint job will get damaged. But this toy doesn't seem to be left wanting. Good size, complex (for a mainline) transformation, no QC issues, and a good enough paintjob for the budget. I wish given the lack of accessories they could've given him an articulated right hand but the recent leak about a Leader class Tigerhawk coming next year is making this purchase very tempting. For how good WingedDragon is, there's nobody for him to be displayed with as there's no 3rd party TigerHawk for the forseeable future and he's taller than TransArt's version of Optimal Optimus (which happens to pair well with Legacy's version).

Also, if you don’t have him already, Tarn has to be the best figure from Legacy Evo. The robot mode has literally no kibble, it looks great, and I had to stop myself from just sitting at my desk and posing him repeatedly, since he has several specialty joints and just feels evil. Transformation has some interesting parts that are not very intuitive, and the alt mode is hindered by the hands sticking out the back, but definitely a must. Can’t wait to see your thoughts.

I’ve gotta get this guy. I was on the fence when it was announced, but after seeing you, Thew, Baltmatrix, and Jobby all say it’s phenomenal, that changed pretty fast.

For me, this one is the figure of the year, even tarn couldn stop him just i love him even if it has the wrong face, highly waited for this review and as always you didnt disappoint ;)

An awesome take on a mini masterpiece! This one is truly amazing! (Was gifted it as a birthday present at the star of the year). Managed to swap around the claw tips as intended by design (much harder than how Wiki makes it seem, but definitely doable, albeit very carefully so as not to break anything). Such a perfect figure in every way! And the 'hand feel' is sublime. Transports me to the QC of 4 decades ago when yours truly began collecting TFs somehow.

The curse still lives as you find Dragon Megatron in a store when you bought it online

Wave 3 of legacy had not come into my area yet so when it happens, I will DEFINITELY be picking this guy up. I love the way his wings flare out, gives him more of a presence on a shelf I would think.

When I got this figure for Christmas I didn’t think it would be all that great But when I opened it and transformed it It instantly became my favourite Legacy Leader class figure

For starters, it is nice to see you that happy again...yeeesssss 😈 And as for the figure, I'm not 100% sure, but since you said the Flame effeckt is reused it got me thinking from where it comes from. And I think that's a re-use from a Comander TF5 Megatron. Also, technicly there is one thing that this figure is missing, but I also know that it is a part that literally NOBODY cares about. Aka the transport mode. (but like I said, I struggle to find anyone who ever cared about this part). And as for the question of the video ... Who's your second favorite Transmetal 2 desighn and why?

If maybe the distribution in my county so bad and prices on websites weren’t so expensive, I’d gladly get this. It looks cool as HELL, and as far it seemed with your copy, I have nothing to worry about when it comes to QC.

I just saw a video from someone doing a simple mod to give the neck more bend. It involves popping off the neck pieces at the bottom. It'll make the bottom of the neck look more hollow, but gives a greater range of bending.

PE, I was going to tell you about the DNA upgrade kit to "fix" the face sculpt, but it appears you already know about it. Still I feel as though this gives the figure some extra touches that simply improve upon its overall greatness. I did pick this figure up, but not for myself. Instead this will be my nephew's Easter gift. He's 8 and this is going to blow his fucking mind. Anyway, amazing review once again. I'm off to repaint some more Target/Battlemasters.

I've heard pretty universal praise for this beastie, and I'm glad he holds up so well. I personally prefer transmetal 1 Megs (it's mostly the colours), but the dragon style looks superbly done.

ENTER THE DRAGON! This toy feels like it NEEDS the upgrade kit, not because it's bad, but because it's face... I suspect, given how easy it was for them to replace the head, that it might be retooled into Beast Machines Megatron...

If you loved TM2 Megs this much, I can't wait to see you review Tarn. I picked one up a week or two ago, and it's absurd. It feels like they made an R.E.D toy and decided to give it an alt-mode. There are basically zero gaps in robot mode, and the poseability is nuts. There are one or two small hangups during the transformation, but overall, I'm a big fan.

Did megatron invent a new species when he gained this form, we know this isn’t just a weirdly shaped T. rex, since noble/savage has a straight up organic dragon mode

The Legacy multiverse portal has opened from the Beast Wars universe to ours, and enters the Transmetal 2 dragon Megatron. He looks awesome as hell. Robot and dragon modes are a beast of a design to behold. Will be interesting to see if or when Hasbro repaints him as Cryotek. -He will be reissued in Legacy Evolution. I would have waited for that if I didn't find his Legacy packaging out in the wild.

Neat detail: he has two spark chamber thingies. I choose to interpret this as one being his and one being G1 Megatrons

He’s so pretty, the face just kills it for me. If I had the shelf space I’d love to display him in dragon mode. That way he can be a statement piece and you don’t have to look at his goofy mug.

i feel the wave 3 qc on this figure was a sorry for how little beats wars was actually represented in kingdom, because like, OH MY GOD IS THIS FIGURE SICK!!!!!!

I absolutely loved this guy when I first got him in hand, this is Hasbro’s best leader class figure in a modern day CHUG line so far! Everything from his colouring to his robot and dragon modes are all glorious there’s no better way to say it! The next big leader class I’m looking forward too soon is the upcoming Armada Megatron, that guy will be amazing!

Sorry that wrist tab broke on your copy, but as long as it does not directly hinder the transformation, I guess its only a small injury for Megatron. lol Jokes aside, I have been wanting a figure of Transmetal II dragon Megatron ever since I watched Beast Wars back in 2018, and this figure has gone beyond my expectations on how fantastic a modern figure of BW Megatron's final form can have. :D Keep on being amazing.

The exact same thing happened to me with ‘86 hot rod a few years back, I ordered it online and then saw them fully stocked at my local Walmart. And man, regarding this figure, the sheer poseability surprised me. Legacy’s been pretty slow in my book, but when something’s good, it’s great.

I just got this figure and so far it's my favorite figure of the whole Legacy line

The only way to get Maximals on par with the Predacons is to either hope Silverbolt and the eventual depthcharge are S+ tier, or we get toy beast wars characters that are A+ tier. Also I think the only reason Megatron looks show accurate, is because there are no real dragons to make him accurate to, so they don't have to stick to make it real life accurate. Also also, my beast wars collection is temporary finished (may get this guy and Leo primal, don't have Airazor or Tigatron do to not like Airazor's face and not wanting to get bigger Cheetor with out her, and wanting toy beast wars characters) Also also ALSO, how many chibifomers do you have? You could a what's the best with them

Now all we need is a better Optimal Optimus to give this guy a genuine challenge…

I’ve kinda been loving legacy with this figure, tarn, the core class Dinobots, and the new Optimus coming out

I got the face and tail upgrade kits for this. I really loved the figure. But some life issues was like “um….we need you to pay for some stuff that is more important.” After that, i sold most of my collection off due to some personal reasons with my copy of this figure in it. So i am still sad that i sold most of my collection. But i am glad that everything is in a good home. So

I heard if u remove the dragon neck covers can get more range. But it does sacrifice the clean look of it.

I know we got an Optimal Optimus not too long ago from Potp, but I’d love to have a Leader or Commander Optimal comparable to this behemoth of a dragon.

I never knew I'd like this figure as much as I do when I got it but he exceeded my expectations so much. Skyfire was really good for a commander even without the accessories and with those it feels like $80 is ripping them off. Megatron in dragon mode without any comparisons he feels like a commander. The only problem I actually have is that the fire blast effect is not 3mm compatible so I cant use it with grimlock.

I just like to say thank you for pointing out the asymmetrie go to that way my OCD can go into overdrive

Is this the first time that a figure transcends micro masterpiece?

The one figure I'm hoping to get is Legacy Evolution Tarn and the core class Dinobots the pocket-size combiner it's a really neat concept

1:11 Yeah, speaking of distribution again, the Target where I found Tarn and Scraphook also just started getting copies of Hot Shot, Armada Starscream, and one copy of Inferno-of whom I did buy and do thoroughly enjoy. However I did not see any new Leaders like TM2 Megatron or The Fallen yet. I’ll have to eventually see at other stores when I have the time. But man does it say something when Legacy Wave 3 is only now starting to properly show up in American stores-at least from everywhere I’ve been-and they’re releasing at the same time as Legacy Evolution; the current wave we’re supposed to be focused on at the moment. It’s time like these where I really miss Toys “R” Us. Since they were mostly a toy store, all toy related companies would send their products there. And I believe that if Toys “R” Us was still around in America-as proper stores-we’d be seeing better distribution of Transformers figures. Seriously, we really need the return of a general retailer toy store in America. The UK has Smyths while we have nothing at the moment.

I got mine basically for free. There was only one at the store so a grabbed it, but there was an error in the system where when scanned, the checkout said it didn't exist and also that it was the same price as a deluxe. The cashier just rung it up for that price, and we has a 10% discount code, and since we were buying a bunch of other stuff for the house anyway, the price deducted was almost exactly the price of a deluxe figure. I went in willing to pay full price since it's one of the modern leaders that actually justifies the price, but it sure was a pleasant surprise to get it essentially for free. Now I can save the money I didn't spend for the amazing looking Commander Class Armada Optimus Prime

This was one of my favorite toys as a kid. Along with Transmetal: Tarantulas, RatTrap, Cheetor Megatron and Primal. And the big Kahunas, tying for first place: TIGERHAWK and RAMPAGE! So… half a dozen “favorites” across two years worth of figures (26 total iirc?). Oh, and TM2 Black Arachnia. I had EVERY Transmetal (except AirRazor whom I never saw in stores) and EVERY Transmetal 2. All the Deluxe Fuzors, too. Though I gave some of the basic model figures a pass in that line. These toys were my shit! And I am SO STOKED to finally get a new TM2 Megs!

It just the face I don't like in robot mode but that is easily dismissible because the rest of the figure is just glorious

The definition of a great modern leader.... (aside from The Fallen and Blackout/Grindor, but those last two are my own opinion, since i know many people still identify leaders with size, and not just complex engineering.)

Definitely a favorite Legacy for me. I love when a figure is just enjoyable to look at no matter what mode it's in. I don't even mind the toy styled robot face THAT much, as it fits the vibe of the rest of it (massive red demon of hate). For full presence, I like the wings splayed in every mode.

Another thing gimmick wise is that Transmetal 1 peeps were "triple changers" in a sense as they had some (pretty half-assed) vehicle modes...except for Optimal Optimus, who has two (because he's a quad changer). Transmetal 2 peeps LOSE the vehicle mode entirely. No flip-out jet engines for Cheetor or Megatron, for instance. (PotP took away the "truck" mode of Optimal Optimus for the sake of the Evolution gimmick, but the DNA Design upgrade kits brings it back along with extra goodies)

This is probably on the hot seat for the next toy of the year, 🔥YEAAAAHHHHSSSS!!!🔥

When I got mine, I was impressed by the QC too. It was perfect! Then I went to transform it, and the arm wasn't tabbing in right, I looked at the instructions, I was doing it right. Fiddled with it for about 10 minutes until I realized the shoulder piece that makes his arm go out to the side, was on backwards. Luckily, it's just screwed in, so it was an easy fix.

Here's hopin Toyhax can chrome this lad up, they've done chrome stickers before like the mouth plates on their Siege and Earthrise Optimus sheets. Here's hopin I can find this figure soon too, I'm already hearing from my friends that they're seeing Evolution stuff already which has me oddly worried about not being able to find him.

I hope they give us TM1 figures in the future like Rattrap and Tarantulas.
