I wanted to purchase a Hamilton for over a decade. Decided on the Khaki king several months ago. It quickly turned to my preferred daily watch. My collection so far is the 2011 Oris F1 Williams, 2011 Tissot PRS 516, Seiko (some field watch that is discontinued, I forget the model number), and the Orient Bambino with the Roman numerals. I know the Khaki king isn’t perfect but it’s pretty good and is an awesome addition to a Collection. Great review, just discovered your channel..subscribed. Be well.
Always great videos. The humor, serious content, and production values of these videos are excellent. The subscriber count baffles me. Must be an algorithm thing.
I thought you had gone mad releasing a video on Wednesday but a Hamilton review is just what I needed (to get through the work week). Congratulations on 100 videos! 🏆 🎉
congrats on 100 videos man. keep up the good work. love the humor in them, i love how it feels like im in a dive mexican joint that has happy hour special margaritas and youre the guy at the other table who notices my watch and then we start bullshitting about watches.
Congrats on 100! Again, love your videos brother, never take yourself too serious, honestly this is my favorite watch channel. For your critics, just like in that Seinfeld episode, not everyone is going to like you, and that's okay
King is its name for a reason… Mainly because it has a better outlay, more complexity and a better crown location and better crown protection (too big crowns may hurt your hand sometimes) So, I’d choose King over standart Field anyday. Though tastes will differ. Note : Apart from the aesthetic preferences, 5ATM vs. 10 ATM difference is not as worthwhile in your daily “field” use, as having day/date vs. date for my understanding. I’d never risk diving with my Khaki anyways…Sharks are dangerous ;) (Happy hundreds btw 🎉)
An excellent review, once you finally get to it (lol). You are the first reviewer to mention that the date window on the Khaki King is too narrow. I can't read it at all (in less than optimal light), but even in decent light, I can't tell at a glance if it's the 3rd, the thirteenth or the twenty-third. Nevertheless, it's an excellent watch, and, like you, I prefer the Khaki Field Automatic in 38mm. With a 6.3" wrist the smaller watch should be obvious, but strangely, the angled lugs of the King feel and look quite good. Thanks for the review; you touched on aspects that the institutional reviewers never do.
Honestly, the WR doesn't mean much to me. I think the 100m rating of the KFA is being a bit generous with a push-down crown. Any watch of mine that doesn't have a screw down crown isn't going anywhere near water. If I'm going to the beach or the pool, I'm wearing my $150 G-Shock. 50m is more than adequate for what this watch is intended.
Thanks for the video. Love your take on watch reviews. "Fan for Life!!!" This one, I am not a big fan of cutting off numbers on the dial, if they don't fit, don't put them on.
I went back to an analog micrometer. Very Cheap, very dependable and vintage to boot. Congrats on hitting the century mark - you show your age well. Is the date wheel off to right?
i have the champaine colored dial version of this watch. i know its's a classic, but i haven't been able to bond with it. maybe the black dial would have been a better choice.
50 meters of water resistance is about 165ft. Whos diving deeper than 80 ft tbh. Its water resistance in a pool or rain is perfectly fine. Even as a diver to 120 which is highly unlikely its fine
So... It has been PRESSURE TESTED to 164 feet of water... and you are worried about rain and swimming? What pool do swim at? Do they have a decompression chanber?😂🤣😅
