Morten: *briefly mentions Jacks wife* Jack: *fucking STRANGLES HIM* Bandit: *kills Jacks girlfriend* Jack: *okay lol* The difference in how he reacts hurts my very soul. Imagine how much he loved his wife i-... ow oof
Im assumming the blackmail audio log took place after pre sequel only 1 minute before jack kills his boss i can tell because jack mentions strangulation which tasiter was killed by
Remember how in The Pre-Sequel, it looked like Jack used to be a good guy but got corrupted during the game? And how a lot of players blame Roland, Lilith, and Moxxi for causing it? Yeah, he had already locked Angel into a chair and done most of that stuff. The Pre-Sequel just removed his nice-guy veneer.
Well that's cause she was a Siren and otherwise she'd probably get kidnapped by bandits or accidentally killed people. Jack wanted to end the whole Vault thing.
Well, he was already pretty messed up due to “Grandma’s Buzz Axe” and also he definitely has BPD. Game Theory did a good video about it. He was messed up but outwardly seemed functional, and then the events of the Pre-Sequel just broke what remained of his sanity.
Actually he was always a bad guy he's been a bad guy since a bandit tried to kidnap angel but angel used her siren phase shift ability to use the bandits turrets against him but unfortunately her mom got caught in the crossfire killing her, her death is what made jack the way he is, however in the pre sequel he basically is putting on a show long enough to defeat general zarpodon and the list legion but he was always a shit head
@@rtvtictaczac727 Yeah Pre Sequel isnt exactly about Jack turning evil. Its more about Jack's metaphorical mask slowly cracking overtime untill it finally snaps away the moment he sees the future in the vault. This is why i always felt like its kinda shit that he turned evil in a matter of pretty much couple days at best. But actually when you piece things together, You realize he's always been this way. he was just insanely good at hiding it, untill he came to Pandora.
@@EpicGamer-fl7fn "Insanely good at hiding it" is actually a pretty good description of what successful manipulators / maniacs are. Which is what we all love about Jack. He FEELS real. Because it's all fairly realistic.
I love how the balck mail audio perfectly slots in just before the final cutscene in Pre-sequel. We already knew Jack killed Taciter, but getting to see it. Oh that was priceless.
These logs seem to conflict with the story of the pre sequel. TPS seemed to make it where Jack didn't turn evil till the events of TPS, while these logs almost hint that he was always deranged. These logs also hint that his face was messed up long before he came to pandora, with his old boss calling him hideous before helios was stationed at pandora. When in the pre sequel, his face was messed up by lilith. I'm guessing Jack was more popular with gamers than gearbox thought he'd be, so they tried to shoehorn in a tragic backstory.
Unfortunately continuity errors and retcons are only going to become more frequent in games and other forms of media. Gearbox definitely didnt think Jack would be so popular. It would have been really interesting to get a glimpse of some these events mentioned in the audio logs or maybe an appearance by Angel but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
in TPS Moxxi said it when she betrayed him that something was always wrong with Jack. And a few retcon's here and there and now everything fits. These logs take place before, during and after Borderlands 1 and the one about his face takes place immediately after the event in TPS but before he killed Tassiter.
minie because it’s not American. “Jack” for “John” dates back to medieval Europe, when “Jankin” was another form of “John” - thus shortened to Jack. Americans have nothing to do with it. So I guess “Why are Europeans so weird?”
If you can tell me exactly what "evil" is, then I'll concede. Evil is a generalisation based on ones morality. And Jack's insanity can be called evil. based on his own morality, he's the good guy, seriously he even says it himself, but to Moxxi and shit, it's evil, it's why she and the others try to kill him near the end. It's just that after getting his face fucked up, his insanity went father and more obvious. But he was always like that.
i am talking about what is generally concidered as good and evil. not what jack or the character in the game perceve it to be. jack sees himself as good and the vault hunter see themselvs as good. i see them both as bad. but the vault hunter are like deadpool. they are antihearos. they are bad peoe that do some good things. jack is a not very good perspon in tps. and he is a very very bad person in 2
