I grew up playing this song, and that’s a few decades ago 😊, and I have heard so many renditions over the years. This, by Hank and Ben tops them all. Absolutely brilliant!!
Oh dear Hank! I’m 71 and I am still in awe of you! So great to see that you have taken on some of what the young upstarts do and meld it with your own unbelievable precision and rich tone and melody. You’re getting better - damn!
So much more dynamic than other recordings of Pipeline. Amazing to hear Hank playing with distortion on the second solo. Shout out for the bass player as well, nice bit of slap.

Wow I grew up on that song when I was a teenager. I have never heard Hank use distortion or a more modern style of lead than he does in the second solo!
Better than the original. Love it! Just noticed that it was 1995! That's 27 years ago. Nearly as long from then to now as from pipeline release to this performance. Way to realise how old I am.
@johnlay3040 The Ventures hit was just a cover of the original version from the Chantels 1962. Many musicians covered this track. And "Telstar" was covered by the Ventures, too. The Ventures covered hits from other musicians and started after Hank and the Shadows, they copied the Shadows guitar sound. 😉
@@D800Lover Some people, yes. The "surf guitar sound" was covered from Hank. Ventures, String Alongs, Spotnicks and more tried to copy the sound of the Shadows, of Hank. 😊🎸
But don't forget, the Ventures just copied the guitar sound of the Shadows, that was a new sound created by Hank Marvin. Many Bands copied it, Spotnicks, Ventures, String-A-Longs.....😉🎸

@ Different from Hanks Sound are all of them, not so clear and less feeling, also differnent guitars. But the guitar pop sound comes from the Shads, anyway. That what I tried to say. 🎸
