I'm 83 years old , I have listened to many and loved most of the old singers , But let me tell you there will never be another Hank Williams . He was and still is so special that I will never get tired of his singing . Thank you Hank for the best in Country music to last a life time and beyond ! Don't worry Hank no one has been able to copy your style , not even close .
@@barbaraspring3199 sorry, he didn't. Don't get me wrong, he's a great performer and player, though not my style. But he never did his dad like his dad did.
When visiting a family member in hospice a man in his 30s was dying a few rooms down. A woman was singing this so beautifully to him with a room full of family crying. It was one of the most touching things I had ever seen. And one of my Papaw’s favorites of course.
My daddy would get his guitar, sit my mom on his knee & sing this to her. It was always a sweet & tender moment. My parents were great examples of what love & marriage should be about.
I'm 13 years old a big history man and Hank Williams music has been loved in my family since the 50s I love Hank hes the best singer I've ever heard he has changed the way I see things and hes helped me spread the word of god.
It will soon be 5 yrs since GOD took my flower in full bloom. I love to hear Hank sing this special song.I, myself sing this very song to her just before she passed.I really do miss her every day and night.A part of me died when they buried her that cold windy day in January. That's the same month that Hank died as well.R.I.P. my beautiful Rose.I hope to be united with you once again in the sweet by and by.Ask Hank to sing this song to you for me.R.I.P. Hank Williams, the greatest of all time.
It's so hard to listen to this song without tearing up.Hank sings it so beautiful,When Hank sang this master piece,he still had hope that Audrey would come back to him.He had this hope "cause she was alive.I sang this song to my wife so many times(Hank's Style).Have I told you lately how I miss you,so sad. My loving wife can never come back"cause death separated us 5 years and 6 months ago.I miss her still today so much.Soon I will pass through deaths door, and being GOD's will maybe i'll be reunited with her.The pain I still feel after all these years makes life lonely, and i do see her once and a while in my dreams of her.Have I told you lately that I love you.Rest in Peace my love, and you too Hank Williams.
U still can... Hey friend DO IT..!! She will hear u and understand... Hank wrote this song for people such as U... U have a direct connection to him.. Peace and enjoy this moment..
listening again to hank singing to my wife my darling I lost some two years ago . I sing this song to so much hank style. I lost my mother and at different times the hurt was so bad but when my darling passed it was so so bad . I left her grave with my head in my hands and left her there with GOD. I MISS HER STILL TONIGHT. may she rest in peace and HANK WILLIAMS too. thanks to hank for recording the beautiful song..I loved my dear BARBARA ANN so very much.
hank could take any song and make jt his own. I sang this very song to my wife just two weeks before her death. how I miss her is beyond words. my heart is buried with her. I loved her in reality for 55yrs' hank you are the best ihope you have ahome in heaven no sorrow like you suffered on earth.
+freddie shanks. I read your post sometime ago about the loss of your wife. I have been following it and noticed no one has responded. I believe the reason is because no one knows what to say to ease your discomfort. Most time people respond in a negative way because they have no idea what it is like to lose a spouse. Room does not allow me to go into detail. I'll say this; I lost my first wife in 1976; my second 2013. You will never get over it, but put your faith in GOD and you will make it.
This song is so special to me as the man I married used to sing it to me. He died in 1998 . I can hear him singing it to me in my mind's eye. I have such good memories of those days gone by. I miss him more and more every day.
I love the version of this song. It reminds of being a child and dancing on my dads feet. My mom would sing the chorus to me each day. She just passed on May 4, 2014 and I hear her in my mind singing it to me! I love her and miss her every day!
Thank you for the bittersweet walk down Memory Lane: decades ago, we would sing this in the dorm, to guitars, in several-part harmony. The unofficial leader of "the group" is now singing with Hank. . . and I miss her.
One of the finest classic country songs of all time. Covered by many. Hank does his usual great job. Nice steel by Don Helms. Written by Scotty and Lulu Belle Wiseman.
My papa absolutely loved hank Williams. He passed away a few weeks after I told him I was pregnant. I play this song now for my unborn child, to let her know how much my papa would have loved her.
I am almost 80 I am 2 times divorced but Hank Williams was always who my mother and me listened to every morning when I was growing up. I was 10 years old when the announcement came over the radio the morning after his passing. My mother broke down in tears and I can never forget that. When I last saw her in 2015 and had what was her last birthday party I gave her a collection of Hank Williams songs. No one will ever in this world compare to that man because I have all of the songs he ever sang and that is over 130. I have an lp set all of his and I also have an lp that only a few were made. He will always be the greatest. R.I.P. Hank Williams Sr.
My brother and I are visiting Mom today. She is not well and is now 99. This is a song that she would sing and bring us joy. May Hank playing today bring her joy and may that beautiful smile bring us joy. Thanks Hank for a great song.
My dad sang just like him and played guitar like him too ,I grew up with my mom and dad singing songs and this was their song when he was dying he sang it one last time to my mom then when my mom was passing away in Feb I played his recording for her I cry everything I hear this song reminds me of them my parents now they dance in heaven to it
Hank Williams is without doubt the Greatest Singer/Songwriter of Country Music, who will ever be. George Jones is, as he would surely acknowledge, only second, to the King
Why cant more people sing music and mean what they saya and sing with emotion i love hank and hank jr btw im in highschool if anyone was wondering my age im just rlly into good music that i connect with
The Greatest of All Time. Hank Williams Sr. Don't ever forget it. Never doubt it. Look up how many Rock Stars, Pop Stars, and Country Stars and zillions of others have covered Hank's Songs and had Big Hits with his work too.
Tell the ones you love that you do while you can! I missed the chance to tell my Mom she died in 1963 and I wish I had told her a thousand times Mom **** I love you!***
I told my x girlfriend list to this when she broke up with me and every time I list to this song I cry and go crazy but things happen but long live the legend hank Williams sr
