Harbor Breeze Remote Fan // Lowe’s // how to Install 

After hours of trying to install this fan, I finally figured it out. I had to connect my Red Wire out of the ceiling to the Black AC wire from the remote receiver and I got action. I have 3 more to install it will take me about 20 minutes to do so,. When I connected the Blue wires to the red wire (like in the video) the light stayed on but the remote nor fan worked. I followed all the other steps but connected the Red Wire to Black AC wire and it works perfectly. My house is a new build and the black wire from the ceiling was capped.

If using a remote receiver. The blue should not be connected to any other wires (Red). From the receiver - Blue to Blue, Black to Black, White to White. The receiver controls the light and fan

Thanks for posting this. I was a little confused about where the receiver was supposed to go. The instructions did not make it clear.. After watching your video and seeing how you had the receiver mounted, I understood.

Regarding the DIP setting. I manage an apartment complex of 8 units. We had the place renovated and our contractor put these fans in all the units. Now we have cross frequency issues. Will have to figure out combo sets so that tenants dont turn on/off tenants next to them but I gotta say what a pain in the ass. Seems like old technology have to set combo switches.

Remote won’t turn off the light. There was no red wire coming out of the ceiling to be able to connect the two blue wires. Fan Will only work if I wire them together with the black from the house and black from the fan and it allows me to control the fan with the remote but can’t turn the light on or off. Light is on permanently and only shuts off when I turn off the wall switch

You explained it well except for the wiring. Where does the blue wire go?

Bought 3 of the same fans to install in a friends house. He has low ceilings so I opted to do the flush mount. Wired everything according to the directions, and when I turned the light on with the remote the light fixture popped, and flames briefly shot out of it. Killed the power, and inspected the damage. The white and blue wires for the LED light were charred, and there were burn marks on top of the light. I'm thinking faulty LED circuit board, but now I have to install the other two (and see if I can't return the burnt one). I don't recall anything that stated you should have a third wire (the red one) bridged between the ground and the blue wire for the light. Obviously the fan needs to be grounded, but this is taken care of by the housing wiring grounded at the base, correct?

My fan has two wires. And my house is pre-wired to control the fan with the switches. Will my fan work so I can control with the switches as well or do I have to get a three wire fan?

I have a Red wire hanging from the ceiling along with 1 Constant Black Hot wire and a White wire (and ground). 2 switches on the wall for the light and fan. Instructions say to attach the red to the Blue Wire, but the Blue wire is occupied on both ends in this fan. What do I do with the Red wire? Black with Black, White with White, and Green with Green and capping off the Red wire didn’t work. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

I have the same fan for about 8 months but now noticed a knocking sound it happens once every ten minutes or so… sounds literally like someone knocking on wood… checked the blades, all correctly inserted, tightened all blade screws, top covered screws… any thoughts what’s going on ?

We have the same fan. We install 4 but we’re not sure why one fan is rotating counter clockwise and not blowing enough air. How can we fix it? Can we change the rotation of the blade?

Did anyone have a problem with the light cover? The light cover has 3 grooves for it to fit over the LED lights but the space where it sits has no grooves. It is smooth. Am I missing something??

I had 4 of these installed and one of them has no reverse switch. It’s just not there. Did the installer make a mistake or is there another way to reverse the direction?

Only operational with remote control. We all know remotes and receivers go out all the time. Their fans don't have chains or switches hardwired on the fans to operate the lights or fans when the remote fails and they WILL fail leaving you with a useless ceiling fan and light. On top of that their remotes use a weird battery not normal batteries remotes use like AA or AAA batteries means you have to keep extra of these offsize batties on hand. These two SERIOUS faults are why I don't recommend ANY ceiling fans from ANY company with out external controls for when the remote kicks the bucket. The fans are very nice and I would love to use them myself if they had these needed features.

Hi, I got the same exact fan but there’s a problem with the remote control. The button for controlling the fan on the remote control working good but the button for the light doesn’t work. The lights will turn on when you turn on the wall switch but it’s doesn’t work using the remote control. Do you have any idea?
