The driving just felt incredibly good imo that's probably why. Especially endgame cars were so nice to drive that even these frustrating missions were really enjoyable
The Cletus bonus mission in level 1 was enraging, because when you had to knock down the tomacco plants, you had to do it slowly or else you'll get assaulted by the cops, just because knocking them down increases your hit & run meter for whatever reason. But you can't do it too slowly, because you're on a time limit. To me, this is one of the hardest levels early in the game for that reason.
Alien Autopsy Part 3 was definitely one of the hardest missions I've ever done. Thanks to you, I remembered how hard it really was. I think it took like 10 times because I had to carry that toxic waste. That mission with those monkeys was also hard.
As a kid I thought you had to get to the school in 1 minute like the timer said,so everytime I was around the corner from the simpsons house I would restart the mission becaus ethe timer was running out.It took me years to figure out I just needed to get to the house to trigger the alien chase.Once that happened I easily beat the game
It’s worth trying. I played the game recently and tried to do the last three missions without failing. I almost got through all three on my first try, but failed just by a small amount. It’s really hard but doable.

This game gave me rage issues as a kid to the point I would yell at the tv and my parents would make me turn it off lol. I almost didn't finish the game because the last mission pissed me off so much, I lost interest in it when I was like 12 but picked it up again in 2011 cos it was unfinished business, but still couldn't finish it without cheats. Then last year me and my friend played it for nostalgia and after a lot of hardship, FINALLY beat the last mission without cheats. So basically it took me from 2003 to 2017 to finish this kid's game lmao. So proud.

I remember I had finally finished set to kill after like 6 or 7 tries and then my game cube crashed as I was entering krustlu studios to talk to Krusty to end the mission. Alien autopsy made me cry so much and rage and I’d pull my hair in frustration. I remember on my final attempts that I was just gonna quit the game and go play road rage so I just focused up drove cautiously and then I finally passed it and then when I got a ps2. I got this game and I passed all the missions including the hard ones with ease and then alien autopsy took me like 2 or 3 tries whereas on game cube it took me over 20
I finished this game as a 9 year old kid back in the day. Yeah, I think I spent quite a lot of time, and was frustrating, but my love for the game made me push myself to keep playing and playing
Tips on the missions that made number 1 and 2. Set to kill: - Don't destroy the stand in the middle of the road up the hill just past the sawmill until you are on your way back. Saves a few seconds. - Land inside the C-SPANKER, crash into the fence slightly and reset to appear on the other side. Saves loads of time. - Don't get too hasty around Squidport. Take your time. Alien Autotopsy Part III - Take your time. It's not "1 minute to get to the school". It's "1 minute to get to the Simpsons house". Being careful has it's benefits. - The alien car always veers off to it's right and crashes into a fence. That's why you go towards the left and dodge it.
When you are about to hit a wall, reset your car before you hit it in a wall, it helps me in the first try and i just have hitted only a time, and i finished the mission in the first try (without fail the entire mission[losing the actual time and having to restart the mission], at least)
In case anyone cares, here's some easy tips to beat Set to Kill. 1. If you keep blowing up the Globex Super Villian Car, just switch back to the Ferrini or even the Car Built For Homer. I don't think it will fail the mission. 2. Skip the booth after the weird saw thing near the Krusty Burger and get it on the way back down. You are essentially giving yourself more time to get back Krustylu, which makes it considerably easier. 3. Take the shortcut through the boat on the way back, but after you hit the ramp, hit reset before you hit the railing in the back of the boat, and it'll put you on the road next to the Taffy shop. It should save you about 10 seconds or so. If you can do at least number 2 and 3, you can easily beat this mission on a first attempt.
Agree with majority of this list but I feel like that Tomacco, Cletus bonus mission in the first level with Homer was quite infuriating. Especially seen as driving through the tomacco fields increased your wanted level by a lot haha
"Set to kill" definitely the hardest, it's either perfect or retry there's barely any time to spare, chased by cops is NOT an option. My 2nd and 3rd hardest mission are gonna be "Alien Autotopsy part III" and "Better than Beef" because the car bounce all over the road due to uneven ground you have to go through. For the rest, I don't really have any problem with, including "Never Trust a Snake" believe it or not.
I was one of those who never completed the last mission and the game. Set to Kill, I think I blocked out how annoying it was but the frustration at never finishing the game still gets me.
Fun fact about Set to Kill (and by extension every mission that requires you to buy a car) : you don't actually have to use that car. Just start the mission and use a phone booth to pick a different car. Personally, I recommend either the red ferrini or the longhorn for set to kill.
Somehow I've actually beaten Set to Kill. The stands aren't too bad, but *GETTING BACK TO KRUSTYLU STUDIOS IS HELL!* I literally saved that file five times on every memory card once I beat it.

I just spent the whole day today completing this game in 6 hours and let me tell you... both “Set to Kill” and “Alien Autopsy III” were hands down the hardest missions I’ve played and I was so enraged the whole time! It took me a total of 30 tries combined for both missions, and not counting the restarts that I did whenever I got caught in a wall or didn’t have a chance to escape the cops! But overall I loved the game, one of the best I’ve played on Gamecube.
Great list and I loved your reasoning. Alien Autopsy 3 was the toughest for me because (11:40) it seemed like I always hit the GROUND a little too hard and the waste would explode. The uneven playground pissed me off lol
Alien autopsy 3, prevented 15 year old me from completing this game. I tried relentlessly over my summer break off from school, but with no avail. Then gta San Andreas came out and I moved on

no wolves stole my pills and no slithery sleuthing but set to kill is number 1? I get theres something about monty but everything between number 10 and number 4 is pretty irrelevant, this would've been a way better video if you didn't try and force it into the top 10 format and actually just talked about what missions frustrated you as a kid because there definitely weren't 10 of them and the repetitiveness and lack of passion just made the video seem really fake, just like "another top 10 channel"

It was either the first or second mission with Marge, and I gave up. I didn't know the cheat codes for the ps2. Someday I will get the game again and finish it, with a bit of research.
All 3 Alien Autopsy are the hardest missions that I have dealt with because I had no other choice but to slow down the fucking speed while having a nuclear waste attached to the back to your car when you're supposed to make it to the School Playground on time and sometimes on these last 3 missions, it gives you barely enough times at all! And you are NOT allowed to crash into things in sight at all! And if you make 1 mistake, 1 fatal flaw that involves with the Nuclear waste, you will lose the Nuclear waste which causes to explode from crashing into things and you have to go all the way back to the Nuclear Power Plant to get another Nuclear Waste! It takes a lot of trial and error, and a lot of luck to complete this whole fucking game. Have fucking mercy! But The Simpsons Hit and Run game is the classic game on the GameCube/XBOX/PS2/PC libraries, but the missions that you mentioned that pissed us off are pure hard sons of bitches!
My Opinions 10: Agree getting to Mr Burns' office was a mess but it was worth it. Same thing goes for the happy music. 9: The last ketchup packet was so annoying to get but no trouble with this mission. 8: I got lucky with this mission. That dumb train didn't get in my way and i didn't activate the cops during the part to flee from Apu. It wasn't that hard. 7: That mission was annoying but the strange luck happend again, i did get cops trying to hunt me down but i was safe. 6: Trouble with Cletus eh? I almost missed him, but if it weren't for his last object i would just stop. That mission was obnoxious! 5: Same thing with #6, if Frink didn't stop at his lab, i would be done. I'm not gonna ask why Pro. Frink made all those awkward turns 4: Mixed. I don't know sometimes it's easy other times its hard. For some reason i didn't ran into cars that got in my way. 3: Screw that mission, but i do know a strategy. 1. Get a fast vehicle. (that also is tough if you want) 2. Park your car somewhere close to the garbage truck and 3. save the garbage that's at the monorail area last. It might help. 2: Let's be honest, this stupid final mission should have been #1 beacause of that stupid nuclear waste, that stupid black car, and Grampa's car SUCKS!!!!!! 1: Hate that mission, but try using the car Smithers have (or something better than the globex car) it can work and make sure to use that boat shortcut.
Top 10 hardest missions in my opinion. 10. There's Something About Monty (7-4) Rage level: 5/10. I didn't have that much trouble with the first part but the hardest part in my opinion is getting away from the black sedan. When I played it even to this day it takes me from the Kwik E Mart to the Trailer part to complete the task. 9. Never Trust A Snake (5-5) Rage level: 6/10. Look I didn't really have much trouble with the mission despite the time limit cause u have 4:54 to complete it witch is the reason y its lower than No: 10. 8. For A Few Doughnuts More (4-1) Rage level: 6/1O I remember having a lot of trouble with the mission. I remember not really having much time to get back to the Lard Lads Donut store and having trouble with hitting and collecting the doughnuts witch is the reason y its on No: 8. 7. Kwik Cash (5-6) Rage level: 6/10. So getting away from Chief Wiggum isn't that hard but destroying that almost invincible truck with a fast but weak car is not easy. When u hit it it takes more damage to u instead of the truck. Let's just be very thankful that is wasn't timing u on it cause it was shown in the beta version that there was a 3:50 time limit on destroying that truck coz the mission would have been in the top 3 or higher. 6. Cell-Outs (2-7) Rage level: 7/10. I remember having a lot of trouble with the mission. So u had to destroy 4 cellphone cars. The cars u were limited to weren't that fast. If u r an expert at destroying cars there is a 10% chants u will end up choking at it but if u r like me at the game (who beat set to Kill with over 10 seconds left) there's a 90% chants u will fail it. 5. Set to Kill (6-6) Rage level: 8/10. This mission is hard because of the time they gave u that was just not enough to beat it if u were new at the game or mission completely then there is an 100% chants u will fail and skip it. The car u r forced in to costs 600 coins for a weak and pretty much uncontrollable car. 4. Wolves Stole My Pills (4-5) Rage level: 8/10. The only thing that made me skip the mission was following the car and collecting the meds that come out of the car. This was one or the missions that I skipped on my first save file which I beat with some cheat codes but this mission was one of the missions were the cheats weren't useful. 3. Incriminating Caffeine (5-1) Rage level: 8/10. This mission was one of the missions that I skipped as well. This mission is just wolves stole my pills but instantly start collecting the stuff, u collect 11 cola crates instead of collecting 10 meds 4 grandpa and there's no avoid segment. 2. Curious Curator (5-7) Rage level: 9/10. What u have to do is drive from snakes hide out to the museum in 30 seconds then destroy the curators car. The firinni car has 4 star speed but the curator has a 3 star speed but for some reason I just can't really catch up to it and take much damage. U have 2:00 on destroying that car and when you do u have 2:40 if u destroyed it early but if u destroyed it with not much time left u have 20 seconds to get to the museum. 1. Alien "Auto" Topsy Part lll (7-7) Rage level: 10/10. This is the last mission in the game. U had to race the alien car to the power plant which isn't th a hard but when u picked up the nuclear wast u had 1 MIN to get to the school but when u get home there's an avoid segment and the car will block the short cut which will make u blow up the nuclear waste and u will have 1:00 to get back to the power plant when u got away u have 40 30 seconds to get to the school when u beat it u will trigger the final cut scene and beat the game.
Honestly, "There's Something About Monty" is one of my favorite missions in the game now. It's so unique, and is a stark contrast to the rest of Level 7 in its tone. But holy shit, the first time I did it I nearly broke my controller. I can do it just fine now, or moon jump it.
In "Set To Kill", I learned a trick. Once you get good at the first half of the mission (getting to the gas station wher you start back, try to avoid the cops until right before you start back.Then let them stop you. That way you start back with a clean slate and you should be able to get back without being harassed by the cops.
For ‘Lab Coat Caper’ you don’t need to follow Frink all the way as you follow him down the hill. There’s a fair bit of distance that you can exploit. You don’t know Frink’s path the first time you play it but after recognising how far up and down the hill he drives, it’s not so bad
I know, they are fucking bullshit!! I've restarted the game recently and when I got to Never Trust a Snake, I had to skip it as I always ran out of time. I have past all levels once, but only once.
"Never Trust a Snake" was easily the hardest mission for me. "Set to Kill" was bad, but my god "Never Trust a Snake" made "Set to Kill" look like the tutorial mission.
Great job! This game brings so many memories. Gotta admit that a lot of "Mission complete" scenes are new to me😆 I could never got past through the last mission of the game (I could never even outrun the black car😭) and "Never trust a snake" was a bitch for me (I remember all the troubles lookin for all the trash bins. It felt like an enlightenment finding out some of them were on the monorail lol) though I could never pass that mission :( the one with Marge when you have to follow Cletus was also an impossible.
Lol I've done this game fully. I'm so dead really. The most annoying mission was "Never trust to snake" - I just couldn't collect all this dam trash so fast. I was redoing this mission like 15 or ever 20 times.
I literally didn’t play the game for 2 years because I couldn’t do alien autopsy part III, I was trying for days and I genuinely couldn’t do it so I gave up. 2 years later I come back and complete the mission first time I couldn’t believe it
Lab Coat Caper was interesting because if Frink went fast enough to go invisible at all, it TANKED your PS2’s frame rate, so that’s tough when you want to make accurate turns while following him.
Exactly set to kill got me raging like when i was kid at the point i tried like 30 time until i eventually skip the mission then after a month later i finally completed it so yes set to kill deserve to be no 1 on this list
8:09 I was hoping this one would be here, talk about a marathon. The big collectathon missions, prior, were pretty generous in the time they gave you. This one made following the garbage truck and returning to the DMV part of the same timer, meaning you had to rush everything and I found myself struggling to get back in time. The one solace is the shortcut on the highway makes it more feasible.
The last level on level 7 always pissed me off. What happend was I made it to the school playground but what happend was the car wouldn't fly up to the ufo. It wouldn't fly up and then it went to 0 and said mission failed. When that happend I was not happy
Ellis Goulding so time consuming to do without cheats. You had to fix your vehicle with a wrench so many times before you finally destroy the truck lol
Kwik Cash. It was actually one of the easiest missions, since only way to fail the Armoured Car destruction part was if you wrecked your car (there’s no time limit for destroying it). Annoying as fuck, yes, but not difficult.
That one was annoying until you realise you just have to be patient and wait to get to the areas with wrenches to keep fixing your car, then it's fine. Thank God there was no time limit on that one.
Skeleton If you know the route of the cars it's fairly easy to get infront of them to destroy them. I agree if you try and catch up to them it's a little annoying.
yeah like reiids said the cell phone cars use the exact same route everytime so theyre pretty easy to intercept with a large strong vehicle such as the plow king. however at this level you should have the Duff Truck, the Surveillance Van or the Limousine. those 3 vehicles are perfect for this mission. This will make quick work of those things.
Another mission I had a bit of trouble with is the Milhouse mission in level 3 just because of how far you have to drive for the last section but you can make it easier by walking to a phone box closer to the destination.
"Set to Kill" was the hardest I think. From what I remember the thing that I found hardest was using the Globex car. Maybe I was just a terrible driver but I hated having to use it because although its fast its really weak. I wanted more than anything just to use a different car

This was the first game I ever 100%ed! I actually can't remember #1 one from my previous playthroughs. Alien Autotopsy III is def the hardest, but Never Trust a Snake was the most annoying
5:50 That was the easiest mission to me "How!?" It's easy, jump in front of Professor Frink's car, stay in the front part of the car and done, nothing else to move
To me, some of these missions wasn't as hard for me as people say they are. Never trust a snake was to me the hardest mission of them. Ahead of set to kill. I completed that mission before the snake one. Set to kill made me already set to kill. I think it took me about 6-7 attempts to do it. The tactic was to be extremely cautious as I can through the pier bit where tons of annoying inconsiderate cunts got in my way. When I finally managed to do it, it became far too easy. Dare I say alien autopsy III was easy? I remember looking at all the LPs of it with people re attempting over and over about a decade ago. By the time I came round to doing it, I did it first time with 2 seconds to spare because I was cruising a bit slower than how most people did it as they kept failing. The black car wasn't a threat at all. I think the final mission of level 4 would be at least in the top 12 as it was hard to take out the cola trucks. I used a heavier car for that mission. Also some of the bonus missions should make the top 10 also.
I agree with you pretty well on that list! I’m a little surprised that Kwik Cash from Level 5 wasn’t on the list! Smashing that armored car with Snake’s car was one of the hardest for me! Still, good job dude, I do agree with the bulk of your list!
Wow! I just failed in the order of the second and third levels mentioned here, but I totally agree with you. Those levels were quite hellish! I even felt the cringe when I saw grandpa's car crashing in your video, jajaja! But definitely, it is one of my favorite games and it really marked my adolescence, mostly because it was one of the first games I finished in its entirety. Most of those mission weren't all that hard (or at least for me). on missions with tight time limits, once you know the best path to take, it becomes easier. But those last 3 you mentioned, yes totally, they annoyed the crap out of me too! I remember failing on "never trust a snake" so many times that the game itself got so sick of it, it decided to let me go on to the next mission anyway! of course if I knew there was a sprint button back then it would have been different, plus back then I had a pretty crap computer so the frame rate wasn't that good which didn't help.

Great video, you brought back memories from when i was a kid on PS2 (#2 and the Cletus ones) were the most frustrating, you stated in one part of the video about your Mom telling you to calm down (for number 2). My Father said the same exact thing to me.
Alien Autopsy Part 3 is rightfully at #2, because iconically, the last mission is supposed to be the hardest mission, and when you finally complete it, there's a rewarding stimulus of relaxation and joy of "OH MY GOD!! YESS!!! I BEAT IT!!!!!" The first time you get that sensation when you beat the game is so incredible, that you can forgive the final mission for being so hard.
you know i might have blinded by nostalgia but i truly forgot just how much of this game boils down to "collect all the things halfway across the map in a car that handles like ass under 30 seconds"
Another annoying thing about the lab coat caper mission is that it starts immediately with the instruction to follow Professor Frink but it doesn't start you in your car you have to run to your car and if you don't have a car spawned you have to run to the telephone box to call one making it very easy to fail right away
Thank God i'm not the only one that thinks that Set to kill is the hardest mission in this game. This mission really drove me crazy. However, to be honest, I like this game, but after passing the whole game for the first time, later it becomes more boring, everytime I use to play this game.
I'll leave some advice for "Never Trust a Snake". 1- Use the Hover Car. You get it by completing the extra mission in level 5. 2- Don't leave the trash in the monorail to collect it in the last minute, you'll only waste precious time. Instead, leave the ones in the ramp, so that when you collect them you'll be already in your way back. 3- Don't use the road that the game indicates, instead, use the first shortcut you have in your right. It's supposed to be a forbidden path that will save you a lot of time. That's it. If you follow this instructions, you should have about 50 seconds to go back to Snake. Nevertheless, 40 seconds are enough if you are fast and take the shortcut.
Funny thing about Never Trust a Snake is...the other day I came back to this game to 100% it, and I got to this mission yesterday, and I ALWAYS dreaded it, ever since I first played it in 2003. But to my surprise, this time around I actually beat it first try with seconds to spare no less! Great video! I agree with these all. The difficulty of Ketchup Logic is quite underrated, and screw Alien Autopsy 3, But holy shit what a way to conclude the game’s missions.
1. Fishy Deals: I usually end up skipping it because it annoys me so much. 2. Alien Autopsy III: I think one of the only reasons this mission isn't number 1 for me is because you get to drive a unique car - why isn't that version of the WWII Vehicle the one you get to drive normally? 3. Set To Kill: I must skip this one without ever attempting it again, because honestly, I had no memory of this mission until you mentioned it, then it all came flooding back... 4. Kwik Cash: You have to destroy an Armoured Truck! 5. Monkey See, Monkey D'oh: Quite an annoying mission. I'd probably enjoy the music that played in this level (and others), if I didn't associate it with the pain of actually playing this level. 6. Cell-Outs: This one only ranks so highly because I remember it took me so long to complete this mission the first time. Nowadays, I find it much easier. 7: Vox Nerduli: Odd how there's 3 from Level 2 here, but yeah, this one was quite annoying too. The difference between the Kremlin and the Nerd Car is half a star of speed vs. half a speed of acceleration... and I think that makes all the difference. 8: Bonfire of the Manatees: Why is Cletus's pickup truck suddenly incredibly fast? 9: There's Something About Monty/Alien Autopsy Part I: One thing you didn't mention in your video is the floor panels in Burns's office. 10: Kang and Kodos Strike Back: I have bad memories of this level. I'm not entirely sure why, but it could be related to my dishonourable mentions. Dishonourable Mentions: Wolves Stole My Pills and Curious Curator: Neither of these was too difficult, really. My issue with them is just that I couldn't skip the cutscene, and my disc must have been scratched or something, because it froze during both of these cutscenes ("What we? I did all the driving!" "What we? I did all the driving!" "What we? I did all the driving!")
One of the things that made zero sense to me is that people ask for your help but you end up just sitting in the passenger seat doing nothing but its always annoying how many cletus levels there were.
Nice video! I was playing through this game again and I've got past all levels up to and including 5. But I was thinking to myself... 'I remember this game being harder compared to the last time I played' (6 years ago). So I googled and found this video, I guess I still have the hardest 2 missions to go yet!
Here's the trick to the set to kill mission: 1. Get the car that's "required" for the mission 2. Go back in the phone booth and pick a better, faster car. Once you pull out the car they want you to use, you can change it to whatever you want and continue the mission as normal. This is true for all missions that ask you to get a certain vehicle from a phone booth
