Crescendo Furioso underrated and underestimated!! Even now people only talk of vidit, adhiban, sethuraman as potential stars but no-one cares for pentala
If I was in Aronian shoes, after f8=Q, I would have been played Nxf8 and after Nxf8+ Kg8 now if h7+ then its a draw. The winning move is Kg6 after it I would have resign
Because white plays knight J5, forking the king and the knight. Black loses his knight and if he captures the black knight then white can easily queen his last pawn and it's game over. Black needed his knight to survive
Very well played, but not exactly immaculate play. Nb6 at 9m17s - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jhsBNRj_AFg.html was a mistake and Aronian could get a draw with Ne7! 1. Nb3? Ne7! 2. Nd4 Nd5+ 3. Ke4 Nc3+ 4. Kd3 Nb5! and draws.
0:36 : Why Aronian didn't he advance his pawn instead of moving his king? And 4:26 Why Harikrishna didn't advance his other pawn? :-) And again 4:43 I am shocked Aronian didn't capture the pawn with his knight. WTF? He didn't want his knight to be captured with a fork? AT 15:55, why Aronian placed his knight there? :-)
At 15:55 if hari kills aronian's knight it would be stalemate as aronian's king can't move to any other block, but hari is smart enough to make it a win instead of draw and chosen the different way by promoting one of his pawn's.
Veegody XVII Because white King G6, only square for black knight is G4 because if black knight comes back to F7 he will be captured by white knight, so after black knight G4 white pawn F7 check, black king F8 to block the pawn, but white knight H7 check, black king has to move, and then pawn F8 becomes Queen, game over
After Harikrishna did play Kf3? (~7:08) if Aronian plays Kh6! make the draw. But this is Stockfish, not a human GM. Lamentably Aronian did play ...Ne5+? a loser move.
