This is why this version is the joker is the best. He is quite logical, sane and charming when the moment calls for it which makes him so much more terrifying than someone with compulsions and obsessions they can’t control.
@@Cragmortis I would say he is more of a psychopath. He has a self-awareness to himself that sociopaths have a hard time with; also he genuinely doesn’t feel guilt about his actions. Edit: okay I got the self awareness part backwards, but from what I read sociopaths are more likely to lose control or fly into a rage so I maintain Joker is more of a psychopath.
Mercy and Harley constantly fighting in particular is particularly fun because Mercy visually was based on Harley in a police uniform during the first episode she appeared in.
People rave about how great Mark Hamill is as The Joker, and they're absolutely 100% correct, but Clancy Brown doesn't get near enough credit for how great and perfect of a Lex Luthor he makes.
I always appreciated how brutal the fight is, they didn't resort to having them get into hair-pulling or weirdly sexy moans (though they apparently couldn't resist putting the cat noise in), they're just beating the shit out of each other
I particularly like Joker's pat and talk to Harley. While he was angry with her and is upset considerably, he still has a soft spot after. Maybe after seeing her fight a little. Tho I'm sure this has to do with the comedic setup needed for Harley to fall.
Harley and Joker's relationship isn't strictly business. So I don't personally care how you interpret that since he wouldn't pat any other lacky like that. Which I even covered in my last sentence.
@@ScytheDaddy the Joker does not love anyone but himself. he does not see harely as anymore than a tool. the reason he keeps her around is cause she is useful and very easily manipulated.
@roiking2740 I said I'm pretty sure this was the comedic set up for her fall. And for some reason y'all lost all reading comprehension up to that point.
the fact that you think joker actually cares for Harley at all for even a spilt second is hilarious. Any "kindness" he shows to her is played off for laughs.
@@Rensune Yeah, but he did leave Mercy to die a couple times and she still worked for him because she felt she didn't have anywhere else to go. Least Mercy ended up back stabbing Lex and taking his company from him.
Fluffle Puff: Hello, Chrysalis. I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle. Eat me. Eat me. Eat me. Queen Chrysalis: I know you're trying to cheer me up Fluffle, I know you do, but don't you see, When one of my changelings, Thorax, was plotting to betrayed me, THE WHOLE KINGDOM DID THE SAME THING, THANKS TO STARLIGHT GLIMMER! Fluffle Puff: DUCK! Queen Chrysalis: Honestly, Roodaka, don't you think I feel bad enough already? AHH! Roodaka: You maniac! You destroyed my generator! I'm going to make you pay for it! Queen Chrysalis: Fluffle! Fluffle Puff: Put her down, you miserable viceroy! Roodaka: Oh, shut up. Fluffle Puff: MM! MM! MM! MM! MM! MM! Roodaka: You want to hit yourself? Go for it. Fluffle Puff: MMMMMMMM! MM! MM! MM! MM! Queen Chrysalis: Can't we discuss this gently? Fluffle Puff: MM! MM! MM! MM! MM! MM! Queen Chrysalis: Thank you. Have a seat, please. No? You prefer to stand? Okay then. I'll sit, you stand. Fluffle Puff: MMMMMMMMM! MM! MM! MM! MM! Roodaka: You owe me an explanation. Queen Chrysalis: The kingdom was a perfect setup. How did I know these strange robot hero guys would show up? Roodaka: The Toa? Did they came to Equestria? Queen Chrysalis: Yeah. All because of Starlight Glimmer, They destroyed your generator, free the ponies, and turned all of my changelings against me. But I ran off with my hench pony girl. Fluffle Puff: MMMMMMMMM! Queen Chrysalis: Look, I still got the copy of the diamond. I can still finish the job. But, if I have to take out the ponies and their robot friends, then in that case, the price goes up. Roodaka: Forget the horses. This is so unacceptable. If you and your hench girl just can't deal with the Toa heroes, the deal is off. And I will find someone who can. Fluffle Puff: MM! MM! MM! MM! GAH! [Breathing] Roodaka: Keep in mind, this is your last chance. Boys, Let's go. Queen Chrysalis: How you doing, my little pony? Fluffle Puff: A-okay, Chrysalis. Ahhh!
It's the same artstyle entirely, it's just that joker's simplistic character design is just removed from alot of detail. Everyone tho is still in Bruce Timm's artystle.
I don't understand what's sexist about this? Both men have women as their bodyguard/enforcers (traditionally a "masculine" job held by buff men). Joker calls on his to protect him from Lex, so Lex calls on his own to deal with her. Not much would've changed in this scene if both big bads had brought right-hand men along instead of right-hand women.
I mean, you can't get a better performance from anyone than the woman who inspired her entire existence. Arleen Sorkin will always be the best Harley Quinn.
I know! It's like the fight between Harley and Mercy is entirely superfluous. If neither Lex nor Joker had a hench woman the result would have been the same, sitting down calmly to talk about it, yet as long as one of them has backup the other needs it too. Harley and Mercy might hate each other but each guarantees the others employment.
@@victor4782 that’s not at all true. That’s something that you heard out of nowhere. Joker was NEVER going to be in BVS AT ALL and if he did, it would have been Jared Leto’s terrible joker which we DON’T need to see at all! Joker being in BVS would not have made that movie good at all. The DCEU is out of it having Jared Leto as that horrible joker on screen!
@@herooflight7931 Yeah, there was a Wonder Woman embargo, which is why she never had a cameo in Superman the Animated Series. Mercy was going to have an origin story revealing that she was a rogue Amazon. Lex saved her life which is why she's so loyal to him despite being treated like crap most of the time.
Huh. Never thought of that. It's like a discussion between a man who is riddler and joker combined (jesse's lex) and a clown-looking pimp with a laugh that sounds like a rusty door hinge (leto's joker).
He also killed Jimmy Olsen and Professor Hamilton. It's like Snyder hates Superman or something since 60% of his supporting characters were killed off.
And he killed the man himself. It has to be said that I love Batman, but there seems to be a cult of people that feel you must really hate Superman to love Batman. I love both Superman and Batman equally and for anyone to show such hatred is wrong.
They are the world's finest. Later on Joker traps Luthor and steals one of his lethal planes and uses it to destroy everything Lex built which is more than half of Metropolis. They are about equals just like Batman and Superman.
Luthor is always seen as the larger threat. Joker is unpredictable, but Luthor has so many resources that even if he can be predicted, it doesn't always mean he can be stopped. It's a good thing Joker and Luthor are more concerned with proving points than killing the heroes, though.
or at least stop talking and watch then once it was over they get back to why Lex was was their I know I would have wanted to watch it first and take pictures.
