I own two(!) Toyoto Corolla from 99 (one functional) and I treat it like a race car. So stop the hating on the Crolla. I do however agree with you on people complaining about the price. You could buy several Toyota Corolla from 99 for the price of one of these cameras.

This is a maybe. Maybe if Hasselblad making a good camera for pro cinematographer & photographer, after that one. Maybe if thay make a camera who could do exactly a better result for photographer & cinematographer, according me... I'm again'st you, this could be for Indie pro filmmaker, the king of camera. A Alexa 65, but cheaper.

Annie Liebovitz doesn't own hers lol. she rents it, in fashion most photographers jusy rent medium format gear because it's not always needed especially now that there are cameras like te D850 & 5DSR etc

Kyle Medina it's not about 4k, it's about medium format, that's what makes the image that impressive.

Also downscaling 4k gives you better 1080, than native 1080

image compression.. so 4k will be compressed in 1080p for more sharpness in the video.. so the video looks like better in 1080p

it's all about BITRATE, 1080p on youtube is trash no matter what camera it was filmed on

When you downscale from 4K to FHD with a good algorithm, you get about half the noise compared to native FHD!

Good thing someone else noticed the mistake

Longer focal lengths compress the background if the subject takes up the same amount of space in the image. That is normally what is meant by "compression."

@@mugdays If holding the format size constant, yes. If you're changing the format size, no. The perspective compression comes from subject-to-camera distance, not from focal length per se, so two cameras with the same field of view and framed the same will have the same compression regardless of the actual focal lengths of the lenses. The most obvious proof of this is cellphones. Since they have itty bitty tiny sensors, they have itty bitty focal length lenses to match. For example, the iPhone XS's lens has an actual focal length of 4.25mm but a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 26mm. If perspective were based on focal length alone, the normal wide-angle lens on the iPhone would have *absurdly* stretched out impossible ultrawide perspective. It doesn't. It just has the slightly stretched-out wide angle perspective that you'd get from a 26mm lens on a full frame camera.

definitely better skin tones than Red SOOC, Red still hasn't nailed down the colour science, but Red still wipes the floor with this h6d in every other category. If you don't mind the extra effort, you can even get desirable skin tone from a Red. I prefer canon skin tones, but i made it work with my nikon because it was better in every other aspect

I just sold my Red, I've spent a lot of time working with it and these colors are much more natural. I love shooting with Red don't get me wrong, I just think this would be an excellent camera to shoot a narrative film with.

if it feels right (and if the raw files are good), i say go for it, they are just tools after all. though, it seems to me like the hassy's workflow might be problematic, with the complex file format and compression, they could have just gone with cinema dng like magic lantern.

I would rather rent out a sony venice or alexa lf, granted maybe those where not out when you made your comment

Personally I thought the Hass had too much magenta in thr skin tone. I actually feel the Red had more natural looking skin tone.
